Tony and Pepper have been officially a couple for three months, and they finally find some time in their schedules to visit Pepper’s family, and introduce Tony to them— as if the world doesn’t already know everything there is to know about him.

Peter isn’t sleeping. That much is clear by every line on that young pretty face. He’s not sleeping because he’s up researching shrapnel migrating and heart failure and harassing all the best doctors in New York about seeing Tony. He’s researching PTSD and how to support a loved one after being held hostage and supporting sobriety in a lover. His eyes are burning and red from his laptop screen.

Peter cares. Peter might just fucking love him. And it all hits Tony like a brick that this was here this whole time. Peter loved him the whole time. Peter wanted to take care of him the whole time.

Starker Endgame Reverse AU

(really long post)

Tony turns to dust in Peter's arms. Peter is left on Titan with a scary blue alien woman who looks like she will eat him if he shows any sign of weakness.

Peter by some miracle is rescued by Captain Marvel and makes it back to Earth just to find out that everyone he loves is dead. MJ, Ned, May. Everyone. Gone.

The remaining Avengers vow to look after this kid. Some resentment grows around Tony's name. To the rest of the adults, Stark let this kid go into space and put him in the position to be abandoned in SPACE. From how Peter talks, it's clear that Peter and Tony had a strange relationship.

Steve and Nat in particular step up. Nat is the first to notice how high of a security clearance this teenager has. Steve listens with an aching heart as Peter weepily talks about how much he loved Tony and would do anything to get him back.

Bruce works in the lab with Peter. He ends up being the key to helping Bruce and the Hulk stabilize into one being. This then builds Peter's confidence, and obsession, with inventing a way to reverse the snap.

So, Peter is hellbent on inventing time travel. The world is already so weird that sure, letting this 16-year-old free-range in Stark Labs is the least of anyone's worries.

It takes years before anything works, and even then, no one is on the same level as Peter intellectually to even attempt to double check his work. Then, Scott Lang returns, and the Pym technology is just the right piece of the puzzle Peter needs to complete it.

At 21 years old, Peter invents time travel. Nat and Steve can't help but feel like proud parents, or at least proud older siblings. Bruce agrees to be the one to take the bullet of snapping once they retrieved all the infinity stones. The rest plays out very similarly to actual canon, except now, Nat and Steve have every reason to stay.

The war plays out. Stephen Strange is the one to snap his fingers the final time, dissolving Thanos' army into dust, giving his own life in the process. It was their one and only shot.

Tony is back, and he hardly recognizes the kid he picked up in Queens all those years ago. He definitely doesn't recognize the five-year-old on Pepper's hip which just breaks his heart into two. Their marriage doesn't last, but somehow, he always knew it wouldn't.

Still, Tony tries. He gets to know Morgan who is a spitfire and an incredibly cool kid. Tony gets back to his lab, but it's been in disarray since it was abandoned. Peter only ever used others at the Avenger's Compound, saying how it was too painful to be in Stark's personal lab when he wasn't there.

Peter and Tony bond over getting the lab back up and running. KAREN and FRIDAY become fully functional once more. It's good for both of them. For the first time since they met, Peter and Tony were meeting each other on an even playing field.

It's hard for Peter to stay friends with MJ and Ned while they're still in high school. They stay in touch, but they were bound to drift apart. But not too far, May would never allow that. She also doesn't allow him to buy Ned any beer, making it clear that even though she had been gone, and Peter had gotten older, that doesn't mean she isn't still in charge.

The Avengers actually come around often enough for May to agree to let Peter continue his Spider-Man duties. Not that he needed her permission, but it was a nice gesture. Nat and Steve volunteer at May's charity. Tony buys the apartment building, so she doesn't have to worry about dickhead landlords anymore. Bruce, to Peter's dismay, goes off the grid, but he has suspicions that the team (plus May) will be taking a vacation in Hawaii soon.

Life is good. Peter turns 24 at the Avenger's Tower, working in the lab with Tony. May was making a fuss about having a big party in the common area that both the men were trying to avoid. They share a soft moment of reminiscing, before Peter makes a split-second, maybe even rash decision to kiss Tony. Peter laughs it off, saying it's his birthday, and the birthday boy gets a birthday kiss. Tony is floored by the kid's forwardness, and then so proud of how much Peter has changed and grown. So proud that he kisses Peter again. And again. And again. Until, KAREN has to alert them that if they didn't leave the lab right now, they wouldn't be ready in time for the party.

Peter who was born after the outbreak happened. who listens obediently for as long as he can but can't stand the way the QZ hurts civillians so he escapes with a large group. Peter, who has to witness his entire group die off as he makes his way to a new QZ.

Peter who accidentally falls into Tony's trap and thinks it's the moment, the moment he'll die. who thinks of every moment he had ever since being born. who tells the man he's not infected and he's just trying to get by, hoping it'll get him somewhere and it does. Peter who gets a view of the noticeably older man who was suspiciously clean and is immediately falling in love.

Tony who doesn't want to invite someone into his safe place but the boy has bruises and scratches all over and was incredibly skinny so he lets the boy into his house and offers a warm shower and clean clothes. Who only learned how to cook after the apocalypse and was thankful that his skills improved as he's serving the younger boy.

Peter who eats with more enthusiasm than he has at any point in his life because it was absolutely delicious and it'd been months since he had anything but jerky. Who compliments the older man repeatedly as he chows down on his food, eyes glimmering. He tried to ignore the looks the older man gave him but they were there and noticeable.

Tony who couldn't tear his eyes off the supple skin and pretty pink lips as the boy ate his food. He wanted nothing more than to hear his voice again but it's been years since he'd been in contact with people, he'd forgotten what human interaction felt like so for once he was completely at a lost on how to flirt.

Peter who finished his food all too quickly and is now looking for any excuse to stay and get to sneak more looks at the older man. Who points out the piano sitting in the living room and approaches it eagerly. Peter who plays a song beautifully and it makes Tony fall deeper into, what he could only say is, love. Maybe it's the years he's spent in solitude and repressed his sexuality, he'd met a boy who was so clearly open about his own and he was pretty.

Tony who leans forward and captures the boys lips in a soft kiss before they even knew each others names. He cradled the boys cheeks and every ounce of fear and need was poured into the kiss. It was soft and tender, much different than any kiss he'd ever experienced. Who asks if this was Peters first time to be answered with a nod and he smiled gently, reassuring him that he'd be gentle.

Peter who before anything happens tells Tony that this was more than a one night stand, that he didn't do those. Who falls into bed with Tony and is met with the upmost pleasure, hands gripping the older man's shoulders as he thrusted in and out of him much more gently than he could've ever expected.

Tony and Peter who found comfort in one another in this apocalyptic world. Who sure some would say they were only together because they were lonely but they knew better, this was more than that. They'd seen each other from the first day they'd met and nothing would change the amount of love and care they shared for each other.

Sweet Peter still thinks it’s an inside joke between them; him calling Tony “daddy” and being called “baby” in return. Thing is, Tony’s not laughing.

The first time Peter had texted him “thank you, daddy” as a goddamn goof, he had used it as fodder for wanking for a solid week straight. Because hey, he does, in a way, sees himself as that older male figure in Peter’s life. And because he’s a glutton for whatever-this-is, Tony wants to see how far it’ll go. Each candid playful text from Peter addressing him as daddy has Tony in complete disarray.

And so, he finds every single excuse under the goddamn sun to purchase things for Peter. Kid complains about his squeaky thrifted computer chair? Tony buys him a $2,300 Herman Miller ergonomic chair.

He gets a call right in the middle of a meeting, and Pepper instantly recognizes the ringtone. Quick on her feet as always, she briskly calls for a short break and the meeting room is cleared out within seconds.

“Tony.” Peter doesn’t even give him a chance to slip in a “hi”. “…when I complain about something, I…it’s not because I need you to do something about it. I’m just being a typical teenager.”

“…do you like the chair?”

A pause.

“Yes. Very much.”

“That’s all I need to know. Besides, that’s what daddies do, don’t they? Fix problems.”

Peter laughs, and Tony wishes he was there to hear it.

And he thinks that’s the end to it until he gets a notification that night notifying him that Peter has uploaded a new post on his Instagram account. He had not-so-shamelessly created a throwaway account to follow Peter, despite the fact that the other wasn’t a frequent poster.

The new post was a photo of Peter in his spanking new Herman Miller chair and he had it captioned as, “whew thank you daddy!”. It takes a couple of seconds for Tony to realize that from head to toe, Peter is decked out in items that Tony had purchased for him. The shirt, the satiny black sleep shorts.
