So I see Saraah spreading misinfo about me saying slurs. Let me explain

It all started when Saraah said " guys can I say a slur" and riri said go ahead it's a safe space ( something along those lines which is wild ) ask @wonysmiu @cwrcent @n-americano and she said the r slur below :

Then after we complained we called riri and Saraah out on being insensitive and riri says that she didn't know and English is not her first language ( guys it's not mine too , and it's not a lot of us, I speak lingala I'm Congolese I moved to South Africa that's why I speak English) and we all told her she can at least educate herself before allowing ppl to say a slur ( and even if she didn't know why did she allow Saraah to say it cuz Saraah never said she was autistic then ) so she made a scene and left and said I was being mean even tho everyone jumped her but I'm always the bad guy now

i’ve been getting that feedback Quite a bit and it’s no one’s fault but my own that it’s so confusing! so lemme explain a lil better:

so the phrase “GeoCatch” that people keep referring to in nfrtg is completely fictional! and as of right now, the reader is NOT supposed to completely know what GeoCatch is for suspense purposes 🤧 the bingo boards are part of the gameplay, though we haven’t gotten a full explanation as to how yet.

without spoiling the whole idea, here is the information we have so far:

CrowdSauce (“CS”) hosts a community game called GeoCatch (“GC”)

There is a GC livestream that starts at midnight PST that people watch (it’s implied that this is a big event and people often watch the stream with friends, host parties, etc)

Players make bingo boards that somehow relate to the livestream—they fill them out (try to get bingo) based on what happens onscreen during the livestream, hence why every person has a different bingo board

There is a singular “Catch” and multiple “Catchers” involved in the game—the “Catch” is highly sought after, as having possession of it allows the Catcher to essentially control the game somehow

There is a cash prize that accumulates through bets leading up to the livestream, awarded to and split amongst the people who win GC

For legal reasons, CrowdSauce does NOT condone or allow betting on GeoCatch and will actively delete any links to betting sites

There is a tracker that charts the location of the Catch, but it’s not always accurate since it’s maintained by users based on rumors of the Catch’s location

“GeoCatch” is just a funny lil play on “geocache” which is a very real thing! (i used to geocache a lot lmao 🤓) so i understand that must’ve been confusing to try and look up.

(Based on a convo from the gc i was too shy to participate in so id rather journal about it) Im always so conflicted on my feelings towards my favorite games being gacha products made to sell bc on one hand there can and sometimes is real value and love put into these stories and characters from the crew, and as much as i wish they'd be standalone visual novels for the stories to be more respected by audiences, i acknowledge they would never have existed as pure passion projects as in my romanticized view had there not been a company trying to make profits. There's also the fatigue of keeping up with new releases, a double edged sword because on one hand new content gets ppl excited, but on the other it's a bit terrifying not knowing when something will end and at some point it can start feeling like beating a dead horse, or a chore rather than passion. It's part of why as much as i'd love to know about x plotline or y character from certain games, i cannot allow myself to get (back) into them for my own sake. This is leaving aside the inherent predatory nature of gambling using parasocial relationships towards pixels and concepts of characters. Story wise the vast space to slowly add filler content of character interactions that are not relevant to the main plot is something i enjoy in these games, but it can also be easy to get lost in it and accidentally retcon yourself or become redundant in long running games, going back to the fatigue from both fans and creators alike. Plus having to factor in the audience reception and expectations is a personal nightmare of mine, i could not be running a gacha game and deal with fan complaints to save my lifeee
