You are not the only one. I sat through seasons when it aired just because I couldn't stop. Even though it is terrible.

I’m kinda glad I’m not the only one, because it proves that I’m not a weak-willed sop, but that there is genuinely something going on with this series that could have been great, but fell short in one category or another, but the potential is still there.

I could be reaching, but it still feels nice to know I’m not a hopeless anomaly.

(On a side note that I feel I didn’t quite make super clear at first, Haven is genuinely good and I really recommend it. A bit repetitive for part of the first season, but that’s just a part of establishing premise and getting the important stuff across for viewers who were watching when it first aired, not bingeing like me. It’s actually really good, really fun, and I highly recommend it. Which may be part of why I’m so disappointed in myself for getting sucked into this nonsense of BatB2012, because it isn’t at all like Haven, so now I’m on the hook with both, and I go from one that is genuinely amazing to the other that... isn’t, and just kind of cringe at myself. I’m also really sorry to anyone who may like the BatB show, it just really isn’t my normal fare and I’m boggled as to why I’m hooked when I don’t really enjoy the experience of watching it.)

Vincent kills one russian criminal but leaves the last one alive for interrogation. Cat points her gun at russian goon and asks: “who do you work for?” But they hear a helicopter and a laser sight appears on Cat. Vincent drops the goon to push her to safety and the goon is shot.😍 The necklace gets lost in the shuffle.

Season 2: Hold Hostage

Tori beasts out, Cat asks her to break her handcuffs but Tori breaks her cuffs, kills the guard and charges off, leaving Cat behind. At least she takes care of the guard on her way out. Maybe Cat never felt directly threatened by Tori,who could have really torn her apart.

Cat finally finds the circuit breaker and cuts the lights which enables Vincent and Tess to take control of the situation but not before Dana knows that Vincent might be something more than a war hero.

Just when one of the criminals is about to kill Tess, Vincent walks into the room. Suddenly all guns are pointed at the “war hero”.

Vincent and Cat exchange a heartfelt look that is exquisitely intense and still somewhat heated. Although, I do not think  Catherine will  be so quick to accept Vincent back. Vincent  certainly has a lot to prove for to deserve another shot with Catherine. No Valentine's flash mob is going to bridge this gap, this time.

By cross-referencing the areas that Cat’s relative Rebecca had identified two hundred years earlier with the list of suspects that Agent Landon had accumulated over the last six years in her own investigation, the team eventually pinpoints JT’s general location. Gabe is driving Catherine's car, Cat in the car with Gabe acts as navigator whilst coordinating with Tess and Agent Landon about where to find the dungeons, and Vincent is still tracking JT (the student has becomes the master:Tori is  much better at tracking than Vincent!😏).

Catherine spots the man with the neck tattoo. 

She gives him the signal: twirls her ring.

Cat immediately starts asking a lot of questions  and Pete gets suspicious. He sort of threatens Cat, pulling a gun out on her because she broke protocol. So she decides to kick his ass and pin him down to the pool table until he apologizes. Very cool scene!

Tori finds JT faster than anyone and comes inside the dungeon still in her 5 inch heels (I couldn't help but notice it😀). She breaks JT’s chain and they are about to run when Barnes shoots her with a tranq and puts the necklace around her neck. She did not know that the whole thing was a trap, set up to catch a beast and she find herself captured. Tori's arrival  misles the villain into assuming she was JT's only beast associate.

Vincent tells Cat that once they are done with this beast business, she can finally go back to her old life (which life? In her old life there was Vincent!). It is clear Cat doesn’t want that (without Vincent).

The bickering between Catherine and Vincent goes on for a few minutes.They were fighting and saying mean things to each other; but…  they were totally oblivious to the rest of the people in the room. I think it's a good sign.

“Till Death” is a strong examination of the nature of trust, how it is accumulated, how it is maintained, how it is lost and regained. Can we really trust Gabe? Is the old Vincent back? Does Cat actually want a relationship with Gabe, or is she convincing herself that this is the only way she can move on from Vincent? Do she even know, one way or the other? It’s an episode dramatically rich  as it opens up a slew of different story possibilities for the future. Exploration of trust has been a major part of this episode and this season in general, so it will be interesting to see how the trust that has been fixed over the past episodes plays out in the next few episodes. Re-watching "Till Death", I remembered that episode 13 of season 1 was entitled "Trust No One" because of Catherine's trust issues in Vincent after "the cabin in the woods" with Alex. It was Valentine's Day and Vincent with a flash-mob regained Catherine's trust. Now, in ep. 2.13, it happens that Dana and Sam Landon have decided to renew their wedding vows on Valentine's Day. But, this time, there are more problems to be solved between Catherine and Vincent: not the flash-mob, nor the cheese factor, will be able to solve those. We meet a new police chief, Captain Ward (Brennan Brown). He seems to be an additional antagonist for our heroes and quite a sexist one at that! Howewer it is refreshing and a bit more realistic to see Cat and Tess being reminded that they have an actual day job.🤔
