#batcher-centric months for focused fan projects

👋👋ATTENTION BAD BATCH FANDOM🪧🪧 We have Echovember, and it's been amazing! But I was wondering if we could give the original four batchers their month, too. What if we started off 2025 with four months of batcher-centric content, corresponding with the last digit of their CT numbers? Here is my idea:

Hunter January since he's CT9901 Tech February (CT9902) Wrecker March (CT9903) Crosshair April (CT9904)

This is my plan anyway. My goal for Echovember has been one fic posted each week of the month, so I will probably keep it the same for the others as well.

A Tale of Two Snarks Chapter 10: The Hunter's Moon

Summary:

After Cody and some of his shinies join the Batch for a short assignment, Echo and Crosshair decide to have some fun with the younger troopers at Hunter's expense.

Thursdays are a slow day at work for me, but I'm usually brain-tired after working on Cadets all week so instead of writing, I listen to an audiobook or just stare at the wall.  But yesterday I had a surprising burst of mental energy and here we are!

This is an unofficial gift to Archivewriter99, who has been so patient with my constant bouncing between projects until I actually, finally complete the one I was supposed to be working on. I finally did it -- here's your Echo and Crosshair fluff!

Last/First Line(s) Challenge

Thanks for the tag, @kotemf!

My first line of the day is from the second chapter of My Last Living Words..., a Crosshair-centric "What if" story that I'm finishing for Crosshair April.

Hunter groaned and pressed his face harder into his folded forearms, wishing he could get at least a few minutes of sleep before he had to leave the medical bay. The after-battle report wouldn’t present itself, and he couldn’t expect the generals to wait on him forever.

And then my last line (so far) of the day is from Chapter 7 of Five Times Hunter Comforted His Brothers, and Three Times They Comforted Him. This chapter is called Kamino.

It was hard for Hunter to explain how sensory overload felt – at least his particular form of sensory overload, the kind that was created by a backlash from the enhancements he’d been specifically engineered to endure. Sometimes, it felt like a terrible sunburn, as if heat was blooming in every pore and seeping down beneath his skin to burn away at every fiber of his muscles. Sometimes it felt like an icy torrent of rain pelting him from above, a chilling flood surging up to drown him from below, all cold and shocking and coming together with an awful trembling that started in his gut and ended at his fingertips, curling his hands into useless, tingling things while the rest of his body and his fractured mind struggled to stay on the close side of sanity. Right now, it was both.

Can December be: DECANTED DECEMBER??? I was originally thinking Clone Christmas or Soldier Solstice but Decanted is more neutral to include everyone.

Planning CLONE CENTRIC themes keeps the Fandoms going! Or that's MY headcannon.
