getting a twisted little unfiction idea that might require me to play some old minecraft for a while. no idea which version i'd pick though that's the challenge. 1.7 and 1.8 have the biggest personal nostalgia for me thanks to servers and a realm i played on with friends a lot when those were out, and i think they should work decently well for things i have in mind, but im not sure if they're a tad too new maybe. beta has the best uncanny feeling to it obviously, but i've never played it, and because world upgrading plays a role in this initial idea i don't really know if versions that old would work particularly well. i guess 1.0 would be some kind of compromise? but would it be a version i'd have the patience to play for an extended period of time for the sake of setting things up? much to consider
#soda offers you a can#admittedly im leaning towards 1.7 or 1.8. maybe both even#they are 10+ years old already and a lot has changed from then#i might have to actually research some world gen things too now that i think about it#bc caves and cliffs changed it a lot and im assuming it will cause chunk errors like the other time they changed world gen#but i have a weird memory of that not being the case for some reason? idk#like i want fucked up chunks in this. this is a carnal aesthetic need
