I want to write a fic where I use Percy Weasley as a tool to just waffle on about Harry Potter world building. Because I love Percy, and one of my personal favourite headcanons for him is that his main area of study is magical theory. That's why he kept banging on about cauldron bottoms (how the magic interacts with the metal / fire and can affect the potion or how the magic in the metal itself reacts) and why he worked in different departments of the ministry like transportation.

And so it would be really interesting to me to use his study and knowledge of magical theory to explain concepts that I don't think JKR (fuck her!!!!!) explained very well (eg. where does magic come from, why do muggleborns have it, why are purebloods so set on being 'pure' and what does that purity mean to them, why are some pureblood familes sacred 27 but not others, what really is the difference between dark and light magic when even 'light' magic spells like wingardium leviosa can be used to kill etc etc etc).

This fic would either be canon divergence where Percy's knowledge accidentally somehow ends up preventing the war and saving everyone, or post canon where he becomes a Hogwarts professor for magical theory and teaches the next generation / his generation not to make the same mistakes.
