just finished giovanni’s room…..how do i be normal again?? best book i’ve read in years, not only did it rip my heart out but james baldwin has such a beautiful way with words. fully just casually drops the most beautiful analysis of life in a single sentence in the middle of a random paragraph

okay finished reading 🥳 it felt a bit wonky at the beginning but i got into it, really enjoyed alice's relationship w her family (maybe could have used more exploration on the sister relationship to paralel margaret and laura) and the overlap with margaret's stories. the romance felt well balanced with the interviews and biography parts, definitely liked it more than the last book, would say some 3,5/5 <3

Thinking about DP x DC Jason Todd being a revenant again. Here's my scenario. Jason gets called that by some ghost. He's like "what the fuck is that supposed to mean?" He's heard the term before but he doesn't know any actual lore. He googles it. He scrolls past the Leonardo DiCaprio bear movie. He opens the wiki. Sees the words "animated corpse" and gets a chill diwn his spine. He starts reading the first section.

He closes Wikipedia.

That night he has a nightmare that his family buried him, again, this time with precautions. He wakes up in his own grave, full of stones, too heavy to move, to scream.

finished reading ‘Circe’ by Madeline Miller! i loved it so so much i actually read it in one day which. i can’t remember the last time i did that. her writing is so beautiful and her characterisation is so vivid. i think i still prefer ‘Song of Achilles’ but this was so very good too

Glinda, my complex lil idiot child I love her a lot <3 and as my fav she gets the fun treatment™️

I see her as someone who feels very deeply and where her words fail, her demeanor speaks instead. Those sad brown eyes and anxiety brows carry a lot of weight, and I’m sure there’s a certain green bean who’d love to lighten that load one day.
