💜💜Buenos Días Lectores ¿sabían que este mes junio es concientización del Alzheimer y el cerebro? El Alzheimer es una enfermedad mental progresiva que se caracteriza por una degeneración de las células nerviosas del cerebro y una disminución de la masa cerebral; las manifestaciones básicas son la pérdida de memoria, la desorientación temporal y espacial y el deterioro intelectual y personal. 💜Por eso Conocí la movida #brainstackchallenge atraves de @diario.de.letras y me encanto, si bien no tengo en mi familia nadie con esta enfermedad si tengo conocidos que la han padecido y es una enfermedad desagradable para todos. La propuesta parte de la mano de @moodybookster y consiste en que donará un dólar a la Alzheimer’s Association por cada post que incluya una pila de libros violetas. 💜La asociación trabaja a nivel global y se encarga de brindar apoyo a las personas padecientes de Alzheimer y otros tipos de demencia. Tienen atención en línea 24/7 (1-800-272-3900), o también pueden recurrir a la página oficial (www.alz.org). 💜Por eso los invito a participar, sé que hoy es el último día del mes junio pero creo que todos podemos colaborar con esta hermosa iniciativa y ayudar. Hello everyone and happy Saturday to you all. I was inspired by @salboreads to post this #bookstackforacause today which was first started by @contemporaryfiction and @katrin.loves.books March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness month and this is a cause very close to my heart as I work in Bowel Cancer Screening. I’m passionate about raising awareness of the benefits of screening and it’s wonderful to hear of the cases of cancer we’ve been able to find and treat that people have been completely unaware of. It might not be a particularly pleasant thing to talk about but boy, is it important! Latest figures show that almost one third of people who were sent a screening kit in England last year didn’t complete it. Hopefully that will change as we get more comfortable speaking about this kind of issue. For every dark blue book stack posted in March @contemporaryfiction and @katrin.loves.books will donate $1/€1 to the @colorectalcanceralliance and @deutschekrebshilfe respectively. This is something I never even told my friends about. Last year both of my grandmothers were diagnosed with breast cancer around the same time. It was an emotional time for my family.
