SMASH COMICS #14 (September, 1940). Cover by Gill Fox.
This issue presented the origin and first appearance of The Ray, one of Quality Comics' powerhouse superheroes.
Tumblr media
The Ray first appears, albeit without pants. He would have those in the next issue, but then mysteriously be missing his distinct head fin. Art by Lou Fine, who signed his work on The Ray "E. Lectron."
The Ray would later become more well known as a member of the Freedom Fighters in Justice League of America (vol. 1) #107 (October, 1973), almost two decades after DC Comics had acquired all of Quality's characters when that company went out of business in 1956.

at some point I noticed a significant overlap between fans of things I love (Star Wars, MHA, TMNT, X-Men, etc) and fans of Transformers so I finally sat down and Watched A Transformer and my biggest criticism is that it took a really long time for the car aliens to fight each other in the car aliens are fighting each other movie

i'm ngl i feel like a lot of people are just saying 'the stan o' war wouldn't work out' because they just want ford off the boat so they can ship him with fiddleford or something. like come on didn't we watch the same show . the same ending . it pains me that fandoms are so obsessed with shipping all the time.
god im so far from the gf shipping circles that that being the reason why some folks are resistant to them living on the stan o war didnt even occur to me lmaoooooo (plus if they want to ship, they could at least accept that long distance relationships is perfectly fine)
the reason i tend to see is "oh the stan twins havent been on good terms for that long!! it'd be a disaster just because of that!!!" but there's an implication that they spent months planning out their trip with both of them getting closer with soos, which emphasises the importance of family idk

— On a gathering storm comes, a tall handsome man. In a dusty black coat with a red right hand.
He’ll wrap you in his arms, tell you that you’ve been a good boy. He’ll rekindle all those dreams it took you a lifetime to destroy. He’ll reach deep into the hole, heal your shrinking soul.
Hey buddy, you know you’re never ever coming back. He’s a ghost, he’s a god, he’s a man, he’s a guru.
They’re whispering his name across this disappearing land. But hidden in his coat, is a red right hand.
