oh hello, yet another ADHD app designed to help with routines!
unfortunately I can't afford your subscription, do you know why?
BECAUSE I CAN'T MANAGE THE MOST BASIC ROUTINES WITHOUT THE HELP YOU PUT BEHIND A PAYWALL YOU PREDATORY FXCKS!
I'm open to recommendations, in case any of you found a free alternative to apps like Brili, Tiimo, Routinery or RoutineFlow...
#this is especially irritating when the dev team claims to be a bunch of ADHDers themselves#they decided to prey on those ADHDers who can't fxcking hold a job without outside help#and I don't think the most basic of routine managements should be locked behind a paywall#like it must be nice to not need the same amount of help/get the help#but I do#call me entitled I don't think it's fair that I have to pay a monthly fee just to simulate a functioning brain others were born with#while those who should understand me more than the abled profit off of my need and desperation#absolutely disgusting#like I expect corporations to be this scummy#but not the teehee small ADHD dev teams who allegedly aim to support their own#adhd#adhd app#routine apps#accessibility#paywall#audhd

I like frogs. I like games.
I downloaded an app where I get to collect and breed brightly colored and whimsically patterned frogs.
THIS APP IS DANGEROUS. IT IS MY KRYPTONITE I literally cannot put it down I was doing everything one-handed last night, cooking dinner, changing clothes, chores etc I cannot stop with these fucking frogs and I honestly don't even want to??
There's a froggiedex that tracks the species/color combos and I am OBSESSIVELY breeding them all one by one IN ORDER like a checklist and neatly organizing them into their habitats and then taking them to hop around in the pond for bug treats.
ngl im a lil scared to play again today because like. I have shit to do. And if I start I'm gonna spend 8-10+ hours straight without breaks staring into my pocket computer specifically to collect digital frogs. I Do Not Like That and yet, I desperately love these lil fuckin frogs. My babies. My stupid lil not-real-frogs. I haven't checked on them since this morning and i feel the rising shame of neglect
#the One Thing I do know is that I *refuse* to spend real money on app games so like#im safe from the lil 'special coin/potion sale!!' bullshit#but this game functions perfectly fine without spending Real Money so#my brain has not only refused to reject it like it does most things#but it has DESPERATELY EMBRACED THE FROGGIES with an intensity i haven't experienced in so long???#anyways yeah this is about PocketFrogs i just don't like to advertise for free#i just. Had To Poast bc i am bewildered by the iron grip this stupid thing has on me#i just really like frogs#rambles

trying to do better at Functional self-care (moving my body, leaving the house, showering, eating better) both for the purposes of just like ... taking better care of myself and also so i can save some money because when i'm not in a good mental place i find it harder to Executive Function especially with cooking so i wind up ordering takeout a lot more often, and it feels great — but jesus christ breaking habits is so fucking hard when those habits are easy executive dysfunction coping methods
#nat.txt#like i know the reason i feel so terrible at the moment is because i did hardly any functional self-care last week#and yet convincing myself to actually DO many of these things is like ... i know the guy in charge and they're a pushover#i did find an app with like lists of Self Care Options that i've found kind of useful#and i made two new lists in my notes app as like evergreen to-do / mealplan + grocery lists so. we'll see#i am sisyphus and my boulder is my own goddamn brain!

I know that I can't be productive or concentrate if I haven't eaten in awhile, so I'll be laying in bed thinking "I need to do laundry/apply for jobs/anything else that requires thought or motivation" and then I also know I haven't eaten for thirty hours so then I'll think "Okay I just need to eat and then I'll be fine to do things," but then I don't eat. I sit in bed thinking "I need to eat so I can do things," and I know it's as simple as that, and then I just don't eat. What's up with that.
#i think its probs adhd#i forget to eat a lot. i just dont feel hungry until all of a sudden all of the hunger feelings hit me at once#and i realize the last thing i ate was a cheese stick yesterday#so i have subway in the mobile app. all i have to do is place the order and drive three minutes to subway#and then i will have eaten and ill have the required calories for my brain to function#i know this. i cannot make myself do it#i am in a prison of my own mind. i am in a hell of my own creation#im really craving what i have in my subway cart#spicy nacho chicken sandwich with onions green pepper tomato and jalapeno and a coke#its gonna be delectable#also has the quality of the flatbread gone down over the years? i feel like it has#i need to do things. and to do things i need to eat. cant eat. goodbye

In today’s fast-paced world, maintaining cognitive health is more important than ever. Whether you are a student preparing for exams, a professional striving to boost productivity, or someone looking to keep their mind sharp as they age, enhancing brain function has become a key priority. Enter Attentio — the cutting-edge brain function app designed to improve focus, memory, and overall mental performance.
What is Attentio?
Attentio is an innovative brain function app crafted to help individuals sharpen their cognitive abilities through a variety of scientifically-backed exercises and interactive tools. Whether you are looking to increase mental clarity, boost your attention span, or improve memory retention, Attentio offers a comprehensive approach to brain training.
Features of Attentio
Personalized Brain Training Attentio uses artificial intelligence (AI) to tailor its exercises to your individual needs. After a quick assessment, the app will recommend personalized training sessions that address your specific cognitive strengths and weaknesses. This ensures that your brain training is as effective and efficient as possible.
Focus and Attention Exercises In today’s world, distractions are everywhere, making it increasingly difficult to stay focused. Attentio offers a variety of focus-enhancing games and exercises that challenge and improve your ability to maintain attention for longer periods of time. With consistent practice, you'll notice an increase in your capacity to concentrate on tasks, even in noisy or chaotic environments.
Memory Enhancement Tools Memory is an essential part of cognitive function, and Attentio helps you enhance both your short-term and long-term memory. Through various memory games and challenges, users can practice recalling information more efficiently, strengthening the neural connections involved in memory storage and retrieval.
Cognitive Flexibility Cognitive flexibility refers to the brain’s ability to switch between different concepts or adapt to new information. Attentio features brain puzzles and challenges that stimulate this crucial aspect of mental agility. By engaging with these exercises, you can enhance your ability to think creatively and solve problems effectively.
Mood and Stress Management Brain function is heavily influenced by emotional and psychological factors, such as stress and mood. Attentio recognizes this connection and offers mindfulness exercises and breathing techniques that help reduce stress and improve emotional regulation. With these tools, you can support not only your cognitive health but also your overall well-being.
Track Your Progress One of the key aspects of brain training is monitoring your progress over time. Attentio provides detailed analytics to help you track improvements in various cognitive areas. This way, you can see exactly where you're excelling and where you may need to focus more attention.
User-Friendly Interface Attentio is designed with simplicity in mind. The clean, easy-to-navigate interface makes it accessible to users of all ages. Whether you're a tech-savvy millennial or a beginner, you’ll have no trouble navigating through the app and accessing the exercises that best suit your needs.
Why Use Attentio?
Improved Focus and Productivity: By regularly engaging with Attentio, you’ll experience improved focus and mental clarity, allowing you to be more productive in your daily tasks.
Sharper Memory: The brain exercises help boost both short-term and long-term memory retention, which is useful for everything from studying to remembering important dates and tasks.
Better Mental Health: Reducing stress and enhancing mood through mindfulness can lead to a healthier, happier brain, which in turn supports cognitive function.
Neuroplasticity: Regular use of Attentio encourages neuroplasticity — the brain’s ability to form new neural connections. This means that over time, your cognitive abilities can continue to improve and adapt.
The Science Behind Attentio
Attentio’s brain function exercises are grounded in research from neuroscience and cognitive psychology. Each task is designed to target specific aspects of brain function such as attention, working memory, processing speed, and problem-solving skills. By engaging in these activities regularly, you are promoting neuroplasticity, which is the brain's ability to rewire itself in response to learning and experience.
How to Get Started with Attentio
Getting started with Attentio is easy and completely free for new users. Simply download the app from your device’s app store, create an account, and take the initial assessment. From there, you can start your personalized brain training journey. Whether you’re aiming to improve focus at work, enhance memory for study purposes, or simply maintain your brain health as you age, Attentio offers a customized approach to meet your needs.

Sorry if this is overstepping or anything but I saw your question in the tags of a post(the one about white people and reblogging poc posts) and I wanted to give my 2 cents ok it if that's ok(sorry again if it's rude)
So while it is appreciated that you do agree with OP and are adding something to the conversation, most times serious posts about racism are meant to serve as a beacon for poc, to bring attention to issues that were facing or that white people may be causing. By adding a white voice in there, even if it's agreeing it does take away some focus from the poc perspective on the issue in favor of a white person's perspective. It's unfortunate, and sometimes you can bring up a good point or raise awareness, but usually it's a good idea to do so on a separate post, or a post designated for both poc and white perspectives rather than a post made for poc experiences.
Sorry a final time, I hope this made sense? Either way ur question is valid and I hope this was at least kinda helpful!
This makes sense, and I really appreciate your taking the time to explain your perspective. Please don’t apologize for engaging in a productive discussion with me, I’m really just surprised that anyone read the tags at all 😂
I guess my question really should have been more focused on whether or not this still holds true if the commentary is in the tags of the post, because I always perceive the tags of a post as separate to the post itself. Like I treat tags like I might treat annotating a text - I’m drawing connections or notating where my personal experiences line up with what’s in the post. It’s almost like I’m talking to myself, and people can read them if they want but they also aren’t meant to be for anyone as much as they are meant for me to kind of process what I was reading and sometimes to signal to the OP that I was listening. And I put that in the tags specifically so that it doesn’t have to travel with the post if it ever gets reblogged from me.
But it occurred to me while reading the original post that I might be treating tags very differently than other people, and I wasn’t sure how that matched up with the post. And I don’t know how much of that is just my Autism manifesting in a way where I have misinterpreted the way this tool is meant to be used, or how much of this is my AuDHD having to process all of my thoughts to other people in order for me to understand them, or how much of this is just internalized white supremacy culture making me think I’m entitled to a part of the discussion.
TLDR; Do other people consider tags to be a part of the conversation? Or do other people consider tags to be independent of the conversation unless otherwise stated (like with ‘prev tags’ descriptors)? Or is there some other third thing?
#the original asker is under no obligation to respond obviously#my brain is just struggling to understand how I’m meant to use the tags#so I guess the safe thing would be to assume they’re meant to be a part of the conversation and act accordingly?#which does mean I have to figure out some kind of accommodation for how i use them now?#because typing them and then deleting them means that if I go back to the post later I will have lost all of my previous thoughts#so I need a way to save my thoughts that is unobtrusive and doesn’t require me to leave the app#making a new post doesn’t really work for me either because it’s often referring to a specific idea in the post#and not referencing that feels like removing important context from my discussion???#and I am realizing why I like writing essays more than whatever is happening right now#there are very unclear and arbitrary rules about how the tools of this website are meant to function#which I feel like contradict the way I would like to use these tools#and the way I interpret the use of these tools#I feel like I am committing a grave social faux pas that I didn’t know existed 🙃
