The medical trial I'm on has rendered my memory null and void, I swear - its more like swiss cheese than it usually is.

But the trial ends soon, so fingers crossed I will be less forgetful again? And less moody, etc...

Also have some ideas I wanna try writing drabbles for on here, so hopefully I can manage that.

Do u think vax would be into the briarwoods If they were good people??? Or is it the whole "they're rough and cruel but Smile while doing it" thing that intices him?

I do! Good!AU Briarwoods are probs philanthropists and do lots of big charity fundraisers, I can imagine, while also being the sexiest models in Tal'dorei.

Vax genuinely finds them hot and he has daddy issues up the wazoo (and likely mommy issues too, losing Elaina technically twice definitely fucked him up) and the Briarwoods absolutely scream attentive sugar parents.

And just because its a safe, sane and consensual relationship doesn't mean that it can't get a little rough and mean in the bedroom... Tell me that the Briarwoods aren't bdsm lovers.

So Vax doesn't have to worry about sacrificing his great need to be punished and humiliated for a loving relationship, nor does he need to sacrifice his equal great need for love, affection and protection to fufill those things.

Plus the Briarwoods took one look at this broke, pathetic bisexual disaster of a twink and said "I have to fuck him". Valid.

I can just imagine the pure rage Percy experiences seeing Vax, only to shut down seeing Vex's.

Vex is furious her that poor brother was hurt, and the party quickly rally around to care for poor Vax, taking him to a temple to undo the memory loss.

What's revealed is heartbreaking and infuriates them all even more, Vax curling in on himself as he struggles to accept this.

(Also valid headcanon! I also imagine Sylas' charm magic can alter memories, as well as that his charms can alter your active perception of reality itself!)

What if Vox Machina failed to save Vax and Cass from the Briarwoods because they took too long to escape the acid?

They arrive just in time to see Cass sacrificed, a charmed Vax hanging off Sylas's arm faint with blood loss, the Briarwoods cackling with their victory.

Vox Machina would have to watch as Vecna ascends, Whitestone falling to ruin, as the Briarwoods grow more powerful and they lose Vax.

Vax is turned into a vampire as he dies from being drank from too deeply, Cass is dead, Sylas and Delilah are now demigods and Vecna is now a god.

There's nothing Vox Machina can do to save Vax or to stop the Briarwoods. They've lost.

They’re both just looking you over, with lord Briarwood walking back and forth keeping a very keen eye. He kinda walks between you and the door as you’re standing there almost like he’s waiting for a reaction of some kind, for you to initiate something.

Idea for ya: The Briarwoods come back during the Chroma Conclave arc and kidnap Vax.

Happens when Matron wakes Vax up with that vision while he and Kiki are sleeping together.

Raishan saw it happen but didn't bother stopping it, deciding to use the info to try and force Vox Machina to work with her once again.

Imagine how furious Kiki would be? Vex would be devastated, she just lost Percy and now her brother has been kidnapped.

Vox Machina don't exactly have time for this, but they can't not go rescue Vax and kill the Briarwoods again - one, Vax is family! and two, they need Deathwalker's Ward!

Raishan helps them locate the Briarwoods' new hideout but dips as Vox Machina start to enact their rescue plan.

However, the Briarwoods have done more than just charm or abuse Vax - they've found a way to permanently lock Vax away inside his own head so they can control his body and do whatever they want to him.

When it comes to Briarvax, I have so many angsty ideas. I never have anywhere to put them so have them in ur inbox. (If u wanna write them I give u free will, I just gotta dump 'em somewhere)

What do you think would happen if Vax were to catch a deadly illness like similarly to Sylas? Do you think it would just traumatize Delilah and she'd beg Sylas to turn Vax to save him? Do you think Sylas would apologize to a limp and pale Vax as he sinks his fangs in deeper than he ever has because he knows Vax didn't want this? Do you think the unconscious half elf flinches? Do you think when he wakes he sees their concern but before he can ask, the thirst burning his throat distracts him? Do you think he realizes with horror what's happened?

This would be in a context where they've actually fallen in love with him and not just kidnapped him as a toy or smth

okay but imagine that Vax died in Emon after being bit and he came back as Sylas' spawn and was called to Whitestone by Sylas's sire bond while Vox Machina are there working with the rebellion and he uses the bond to convince Vax into thinking Vax was always a Briarwood??? Vox Machina show up to the castle and are surprised and horrified to see Vax has risen from the grave to help the Briarwoods out

They just buried him...

And now they have to fight him? Possibly even kill him?

It's so unfair and cruel, poor Vex would be tortured by it.

Meanwhile, Vax is in his full-on Evil Trophy Prince era! 💕 🤭

He looks drop-dead gorgeous (aha!) hanging off of Sylas' arm as Sylas and Delilah monologue to a horrified Vox Machina.

I can't stop thinking about Orthax noticing how Vax acts around the Briarwoods, or even responds to the mention of their names.

Whether through Percy's eyes, or even doing some snooping of his own, Orthax would notice. And I imagine he'd leave tiny little implants in Percy's subconscious, just enough to build up over a long while...

Until Vax comes back from his little stealth mission in 01x03 to join his companions, and Percy can smell the sex on him.

And that's the straw that breaks the camel's back.

I'm assuming this is an AU where Vax has met the Briarwoods before Vox Machina formed, or during their earlier days at the least.

Orthax is probably always taking score of everyone and what they do, weighing who Percy is most likely to kill if Orthax pushes him to do it.

I headcanon Vax as someone who has dyslexia so he doesn't keep a journal, but he draws and paints to process his feelings, and he keeps several big sketchpads full of his art.

In these sketchpads are some illustrations of things he has seen and experienced, people he has met and his dreams.

Maybe, after some chance encounter at a tavern, Vax has some sketches of this older couple who are hot but also very refined and regal looking.

He remembers an accent, the words they whispered in his ear and the way the touched him.

But, after a few years, they just became another sketch in a big book of sketches in a big pile of big sketchbooks - their names are a ghost in a sea of ghosts.

Maybe Orthax likes to go on a nosy peak around Greyskull when everyone is asleep? Maybe he finds the big pile of big sketchbooks? Maybe he goes through them and finds these particular sketches?

So he starts focusing on the party's resident rogue, an eye always on Vax when Vax sneaks off to fo his thing.

Maybe he notices Vax's self doubts about his place with the party? Maybe he sees how Vax tends to slip away with older men at taverns, let's them do whatever they want to him? He figures that Vax is mentally weak and will be a liability.

He starts to seed doubt in Vax's abilities in Percy's head, making Percy question if he can trust Vax when it counts.

Then the invite arrives, a guest list attached for the eyes of the council members only.

Percy's eyes read it over a thousand times, that name may as well be in red block print it stands out so much to him, but it stays the same.

Everyone knows that there is something wrong, Percy has never acted like this before.

Vex asks sweetly, leans on him, and Vax gets low and softens his voice when he promises Percy they'll help him out.

Percy feels torn, but all eyes are on him and everyone is looking for answers...

So, he tells them about the Briarwoods and about what the Briarwoods did to his family.

It's a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, but Percy and Orthax both catch how Vax jerks in response to that name.

The rogue would shake it off subtly before pressing Percy for details, Orthax telling Percy to play along for the moment.

So, Percy tells them all he can.

He describes the couple and, after asking Vax for some paper and a pencil, he draws a rough sketch of Sylas & Delilah.

Vax recognises them almost immediately, Sylas especially, but he's drawing a blank as to how it is he knows the couple.

When everyone goes to bed that night after dinner, he digs out all of his sketchbooks and scours through them until he can find the right pages.

It's the same couple, Vax can recall everything they did that night so long ago, and he finds himself feeling faint and ill.

These people aren't just rough; they're mass murderers who crave power and control.

He feels ashamed, tearing out the pages and crushing them up into balls that he throws into the basket he uses for rubbish.

He probably drinks before bed, a glass of whiskey to clear his thoughts and blank his mind before he tries to get some sleep ahead of tomorrow.

Orthax takes this time to whisper in Percy's ear, trying to convince him to snoop in Vax's room to see why it is he had reacted to hearing that name.

Percy is reluctant, but he has had his concerns about Vax lately, and that reaction earlier had been really weird...

Vax is fast asleep, deep in a nightmare that gives Percy pause - should he wake Vax? make sure he's okay? - but Percy resumes his sneaky search despite his worries.

Then he finds the bin.

He opens up those balls of parchment, and he sees the beautiful sketches that Vax has painstakingly drawn with care.

It's Sylas & Delilah Briarwood, there is no mistaking that.

Why does Vax have these? How does he know these monsters? When did he draw these?

Percy's mind starts spinning, and, of course, Orthax tells him to take the drawings and go - they'll confront Vax later.

Next day, Vox Machina go over their plan for the dinner - Vax will slip away before the dinner starts, feigning illness and asking for a room to rest in.

When Vax has done this and dinner has begun, when all the attention is on downstairs while their Sovereign and Empress are hosting and security is focused around the dining hall, Vax will slip into the guest room the Briarwoods will be staying in to snoop around.

Afterwards, he'll return to his room and will wait there until after dinner - Vex will come fetch him after dinner ends.

Everyone agrees to the plan and goes about preparing for the dinner that's taking place tomorrow night, the girls going dress shopping as Vax starts working on tailoring himself a suit that is stylish but that is good for some skullduggery.

Percy makes them earrings, stylish and designed to match each individual's personal style, he then asks Gilmore and Allura to enchant the earrings with a communication spell that lets Vax stay in touch with them all while he's off sneaking around.

Meanwhile Grog and Scanlan go do what they do best- (:

Afterwards, the day of the dinner, everyone rehearses so that their table manners are up to code for the dinner with THE ruler of their country and a bunch of really fancy foreign leaders they'll be attending.

That, and Vax has Gilmore enchant the pockets on his dinner jacket so that each pocket acts as its own mini Bag of Holding to stash evidence in.

Then it's go time, Vox Machina arriving at the castle in a horse drawn carriage sent by Allura.

Everyone looks amazing, and they all try to act polite.

Then, as planned, Vax almost faints and Vex asks if there's any rooms available upstairs that he can rest in for a while.

Vax hasn't eaten since they received the invite on purpose and has taken a sleeping herb, he won't pass out but he's a bit woozy and needs a small nap.

He'll wake up once dinner is in full swing, and he'll take a small gelatinous Orb of Nutrition he bought from Gilmore to give himself some strength back.

Afterwards, it's go time.

But something goes wrong.

Delilah has an Alarm spell on the secret compartment of her travel trunk, and Vax triggers it unknowingly because of how smartly the trunk was built.

So the second that Vax finds her stash of necromancy spell components and that old book of rituals, Delilah knows.

That's when she turns to Percy - she recognises a de Rolo anywhere - and starts to push all of the poor man's buttons.

Then, as she had hoped, Percy blows up and gives her the opportunity to return to her room to catch Vax in the act.

Her and Sylas find Vax as he's cleaning up their room and, with poor Vax recognising them and them recognising him, things get complicated.

Vax tries to talk his way out of it, Vox Machina in his ear trying to ask if he got away okay, and he realises he needs to do something he'd rather not.

He hasn't done it in a while, but he has slept his way out of trouble in the past - and he has slept with the Briarwoods before, they have a history...

He hates himself and feels sick, but it does what he needs it to and he returns to his room with some evidence in his magical pockets for Percy to look at.

He tells everyone he's safe, he has evidence, but he wants to know "what the fuck happened down there" during dinner.

A little while later, Vex comes and finds him and they leave.

But, as they leave, Orthax notes a new smell on Vax that wasn't there before but that he had smelled during dinner-

Sylas Briarwood.

So, he whispers in Percy's ear and tells him that it's time.

The moment Vox Machina is in Greyskull Keep, Percy starts on Vax like a wild beast gone mad.

Vax is bewildered and the rest of the party is horrified, but then Percy pulls out the pages Vax had tossed in his bin.

Vax tries to explain himself, but the gun comes out and the mask is put on, Vax forced to kneel as Percy yells at him.

Vex blocks him, telling him to back down or else, but Percy just tells her to move or he will just shoot her to shoot Vax.

Grog has to restrain Percy and Vax is given his chance to talk and tell them everything, but Percy will never forgive Vax.

Vax insists that he didn't want to sleep with the Briarwoods, but he had no other option.

The others believe him and assure him he did nothing wrong, but Percy can only see the betrayal Vax had done.

Only the God of Fate knows what this will do to the party in the long run... And oh, how it will only get worse from here.
