I've always thought that how Prompto is trapped it Zegnautus keep is very.. Familiar. Ardyn definitely still holds onto deep resentment from his crucifixion confinement, just like stabbing Luna to get back at Somnus for Aera, this is just another jab to get back at him through revenge on Somnus Noctis and how his confinement still haunts him even now. It reflects here and when he chains the crystal that the time chained in solitude scarred him deeply, physically and mentally.

Poor Prompto though 😭 I can only imagine what Ardyn must have been saying to him while he was trapped, a victim of representation.

Anyway I've always loved how these scenes mirror eachother(especially cause it's in both their dlcs), there's a ton of 'deja vu' scenes in ffxv that really punch in the emotional impact.

btw fun fact about Ignis' name, from what i understand the original meaning was gonna be "I stun with my knowledge of fire" or something weird like that, hence 'Stupeo' ('to stun')

but the versions of the words they used didn't actually form a sentence (i think because 'Ignis' is a noun?), so instead it read like "Fire Stuns Knowledge" or something. Ignis Stupeo Scientia
