Do you think Chuuya told Dazai to play him some background music whilst he beat up a bunch of guys because it was something Shirase and the Sheep actually did?

The Sheep are in trouble and Chuuya arrives on the scene to get them out of it. Most of the Sheep run (like they're supposed to) but some of them stay standing on the sidelines, cheering Chuuya on like they're in a sports anime.

Shirase pulls out his phone and starts blasting music on it. He's holding it up like it's a boombox. Chuuya stops mid-fight to call the song choice lame and demands he change it, before knocking someone's lights out.

Back at the Sheep's base, the ones who stayed to see the fight are re-enacting it for the one's who didn't. "And then Chuuya went BAM" They kick the air mimicking Chuuya, before swapping to pretending be a guy howling in pain. "And- And the other guy was like WAHHH!!" There's chants and cheers for Chuuya, for the Sheep's victory. It's one of the few times Chuuya doesn't feel like he's standing on the outside.

Chuuya's flair for the dramatic entrance started back with the Sheep, with him and Shirase practising his landings, learning that is ability can crack into the ground and create a cool shroud of dust around him, practising dumb lines like "You wanna pick a fight with gravity?" and selecting cool songs to fight to.

The stark difference between how the sheep treated Chuuya and how the flags treated him will always get me.

The sheep used him & he was strong and they took advantage of that. Made it his responsibility for carrying such power and they didn’t care enough to also see him as a person. Maybe it wasn’t intentional. Maybe it wasn’t always that way. But that’s how it ended up.

The flags, however, knew Chuuya for a year and they knew without even asking that Chuuya doubted his own humanity & they fought like hell to get evidence of it. Something Chuuya could have and couldn’t doubt. And all against Mori’s wishes on top of it.

Yeah, Pianoman knew his background already and that helped understand no doubt. But the sheep found Chuuya starving and missing memory and still took advantage of him in the end. Still never saw him as one of them. Hell, Shirase never saw Chuuya for the *kid* he is until his clone tries to kill him in front of him.

Yes, the sheep were kids but they never saw Chuuya as part of them. They all protected each other but always Chuuya was excluded from that. He was separate. They never thought to think about protecting Chuuya or even checking on his well being. Because it was Chuuya’s job to protect. He was a guard dog. A weapon.

The flags on the other hand, who arguably had even *less* reason to see Chuuya as one of them since he was an enemy of the mafia before as well as being there mostly against his will, THEY actually *did* see him as one of them.

He was a flag, a member of their little family. Period. They protect him and he protects them. They take care of each other because that’s what friends/family does. They were truly friends and Chuuya only realized that right before they died. So he didn’t even get to enjoy that feeling he never had with the sheep.

Anyway, I love Chuuya Nakahara and I love the flags. Thank you.

random thought and i know there's always angst paired with the fact that Chuuya didn't know what bread was when he first escaped the lab but i'm just thinking about him innocently eating certain foods completely wrong and Shirase or Yuan (or whoever) needing to keep an eye on him bc of that,,,

like for example once Yuan handed Chuuya an orange and he asked if he could eat it and when she said yes, he just fucking chomped on it (peel and all) and she was like WAIT. NOT LIKE THAT

The Sheep King and his Demon AU

Aka Bsd except Chuuya doesn't join the Port Mafia.

The Sheep notice Chuuya moping about the base. And they know it's because he misses Dazai.

And so they divise a plan to get Dazai to come over. Chuuya's too stubborn to do it himself so they've got to take matters into their own hands.

So naturally they stage a kidnapping.

Dazai: sat in Port Mafia headquarters What are you guys doing?

Shirase: holding a large sack Kidnapping you, obviously.

Dazai: Uh huh, and why are you trying to kidnapp me?

Yuan: Chuuya's upset.

Dazai:... Dramatic Oh no! I'm being kidnapped, by these strangers! crawls into the sack Don't even try to rescue me, it's too dangerous!

...........

Chuuya: suspicious Where have you all been? And what's in the sack?

Shirase: Oh trust me your gonna love this.

Dazai: pops his head out Tada!

Chuuya: Dazai?! brightens up Idiot get out of that thing.

All the Sheep just highfiving each other as Chuuya ceases his moping.

And happily bickers with his not boyfriend, who looks equally as happy to see him.

It never occurs to any of them they could've just stole Chuuya's phone to call Dazai over.

And it won't be the last time they kidnapp him either.

one thing i love about chuuya's character is not only his loyalty, but that of others to him.

in the sheep, he was relied on but not fully trusted as leader. it was a job he had to take for no one else could.

in the port mafia, meanwhile, he didn't have to rise the ranks as he did. he need not be relied on but the members trust him, would follow him as leader should mori die.

the sheep were wary of him for good reason, but never had to be. the port mafia doesn't have to trust him as they do but choose to.

Every single thing about the Sheep is disturbing to me and the fact that these orphan children seem to be alcohol drinkers at such an early age is horrifying.

What gets me about the Sheep is how real they are, because the mafia and agency are so…comedic, almost, in how they’re presented, they’re believeable enough to me but also so unrealistic. The Sheep though is literally just a street gang of orphan children inside a mafia-ruled province. You have that everywhere. You see the lifelong trauma and damage it takes on real people, on real areas, never mind having to go up against magic users. Its hunting me.

Ok so I’ve always wondered about Shirases relationship with the other Sheep members and it’s stated that he cares for them but one scene specifically makes me wonder how he really treated them

As we know, Shirase seems to have some form of anger issues, he is way to ready to scream and betray chuuya the second he thinks they’ve been betrayed

One scene with Yuan and him comes to mind when I think about how he treats the others

The arcade scene, after Chuuya leaves with dazai both him and Yuan look angry, him more than her. He then kicks over a bin and screams while cursing, and what does Yuan do? She whimpers and curls up while covering her ears

I really want to know how he treated the others, because Chuuya may have been the strongest but Shirase I think was the oldest

I am thisssss 🤏 close to making an agere blog. I’ll probably not make it a sideblog and rather use my second email to make it a whole new blog (I don’t want it to be associated with my main since I’m scared my few friends would find this stuff weird)… I’d like to be able to share a bunch of agere stuff I’ve made. But there is one problem: my motivation to make stuff comes from interaction and if my blogs gets two notes per post I’d end up with no motivation at all. Which might be a problem that I’d probably have to put effort into fixing but that sounds difficult and inconvient so I wouldn’t be able to get myself to put effort into fixing my need for validation ):

Anyways at this point I think a request to go along with most of my asks is very usual so. Yay request time! It’s just a reverse of my second request from my last ask: Can you share your thoughts on caregiver Chūya with little Shirase (during sheep era)? Since the sheep took turns taking care of each other’s regression this would probably happen at some point… and I just like everything to do with Chūya and Shirase :3 especially Shirase I love Shirase. He’s so silly!

Caregiver Chuuya + Little Shirase

✮⋆˙ When Chuuya first joins the Sheep the concept of age regression is completely foreign to him. He has absolutely no experience with the outside world after all. But Shirase isn’t shy about it one bit. It’s one of the many things he’ll happily ramble to Chuuya about when he’s introducing him to the new lifestyle. Chuuya of course would never judge! If anything he’s fascinated by the idea. Another chance at a childhood? He didn’t even know that was possible…

⛦ Chuuya is very lost at the beginning when he just starts taking care of Shirase. He doesn’t even know how to take care of a kid, much less someone older acting like a kid! But the Sheep is like a very close family. Some other stray members are happy to step in and show Chuuya how to take care of him! Making Shirase comfortable is such a huge comfort to Chuuya, it shows he’s doing something right

✮⋆˙ Shirase is a pretty compliant little guy, he doesn’t need much to be happy! As long as he can see Chuuya he’s good! He’s a big kid he doesn’t even need to hold hands! Well… Sometimes it is really nice though… Chuuya is happy to do so of course! But for the most part Shirase just needs to see he isn’t alone, that’s enough for him!

⛦ Shirase does not like the concept of sharing. Likes he’s aware of it, he knows why sharing is important, and he loves all his siblings in the Sheep of course! But when he gets something nice… It’s hard not to be selfish. At first Chuuya gives in, spoiling the little one and keeping his secrets. But as Chuuya bears the weight of responsibility he forces Shirase to share more. After all the Sheep only have so much

✮⋆˙ Pet names time! I think Chuuya uses pet names like “Bud” “Little Guy” and “Shi” Shirase is a big kid! (He regresses 3-7) He expects to be treated as such! However when Chuuya’s getting frustrated he’ll bring out the full name! Scary ૮₍˶Ó﹏Ò ⑅₎ა. I also think that as Chuuya takes on the role as the “King of the Sheep” he’d call the regressors “My Little Lamb”

⛦ Shirase loves to run around and play! He has soo much energy! I think this would actually be encouragement for Chuuya to get in shape! (No way he’s in good shape after coming from the lab) If Chuuya can get in good shape then he can run around and chase the little one! Shirase is super fast though! And he’ll tell Chuuya exactly that! If he gets caught too easily he’ll cry, and he’ll use dirty tricks to stay ahead! (“Chuu look! Puppy!” There’s no puppy)

✮⋆˙ Shirase can be really mouthy! He’s the type of regressor you shouldn’t let around the babies. Volume control is nonexistent, he says kinda mean stuff without really thinking, and he’s not very observant of other’s feelings. This is the kind of baby to be super careful not to swear around! Chuuya lets a single curse word slip then all day it’s all Shirase will say “What toy do you want?” “Fuck!” “Are you hungry?” “Fuck!” Chuuya swears it won’t happen again. It usually happens again

⛦ Nap time is a nightmare. Shirase can be literally falling asleep in Chuuya’s arms and he’ll insist he isn’t tired. He wants to go play! The best thing Chuuya can do is slowly transition him to sitting still games so that the little one can fall asleep while playing. Then Chuuya just has to scoop him up and they’re all good! But yeah never discuss bedtime or nap time. Shirase knows those words!

✮⋆˙ One thing however Shirase definitely can not do though is spell! Anytime something needs discussed that he can’t hear just spell it out! For example “Yeah we’re gonna take an N-A-P” then Shirase just sits there so confused, trying to string the confusing letters into words… Most of the people in the Sheep didn’t get the best education. Being in a younger headspace only heightens this. Chuuya won’t hesitate to take advantage of this weak point

I wonder how much The Sheep blamed Shirase after they betrayed Chuuya and the Port Mafia dismantled The Sheep immediately anyways.

They were forcibly dispersed all over Japan to prevent them from reforming, but there must have been a brief time where the Port Mafia was still holding them. Gathered together and transported to cells, maybe they were all kept in one big room, or they filled a block of cells. Either way, they were penned in just like the livestock they named themselves after.

How quickly did these scared and desperate children look for someone to blame. A face and name to pin all their new loathing to.

Of course, they could still blame Chuuya, but he wasn't theirs to blame anymore. They'd already burned that bridge. He was a distant tarnished memory and whilst they could blame him, he wasn't there to bare the brunt of it. It didn't satisfy to blame Chuuya anymore.

But Shirase was right there with them. In those same cells unable to escape the new insidious whispers spreading among The Sheep. He was the one who brought Chuuya in. The one who made them dependant on Chuuya. The one who stabbed him and took away their saviour too. Everything they could blame Chuuya for all started with Shirase bringing him into their ranks.

It was Shirase's fault.

Everything was Shirase's fault.

Not that Shirase accepted that, it wasn't fair to blame him. He had no more power than the rest of them. Decisions were made by the Council and the only one with the strength to go against them if they so pleased was Chuuya. The King of Sheep.

If he'd been the king, things would have been different, he reassures himself. If he had that power, none of this would have happened and so none of this could possibly be his fault. It was Chuuya's fault.

He'd make them all see that, then they'll realise they were wrong. He'd re-build The Sheep bigger and better and win all his friends back.

Well...

All but one.

You all notice how Chuuya didn’t send *any* of the bullets back at them? Not even a single one towards the GSA members. He could have easily done so. But he didn’t. He *never* crossed his mind to hurt the sheep.

What’s in Chuuya’s heart won’t ever change.

Like Adam said, no matter what you do to him he’ll still protect who he cares about.

Even if the people hurting him are the ones he wants to protect
