Hey buddy!!! I’m guessing you don’t have a degree in biology because sex is a lot more complicated than “make or female” as you so eloquently put it. And you’re right! I’m not a cat. But I am a man. Sex changes aren’t unheard of in nature, but since you’re so dead set on your own narrow perspective of biology, let’s have a chat.

Barring chromosomal anomaly, endocrine conditions, and a number of factors in utero, the two most common phenotypes of people we see today are “man” and “woman”. This is a social distinction rather than a scientific one though, as whether or not you have certain organs doesn’t really matter concerning your external presentation to those around you. You aren’t showing off your penis to every person you meet in public, or at the very least I really fucking hope not. Then again, I don’t know you. I’m not making any assumptions here.

No one is “drugging kids behind their parents’ backs”. That’s fear-mongering and frankly really fucking stupid. And doctors do a lot more “guessing” than you think.

Scientifically speaking, there are studies that point to a correlation between certain genes and transgender identity. A variation of the CYP17 gene has been theorized to play a role in genetic predisposition for being transmasc, or female-to-male, but the same gene isn’t present for trans women so it’s impossible to point to this single gene as the cause. Additionally, in people with two X chromosomes higher prenatal androgen exposure can cause intersexuality, but not transgender identity.

There are several studies that correlate brain structure and gender identity, including one that found female-normal size of the BSTc (Zhou et al, 1995) in trans women and a follow up study that showed female-typical neuron density even in transgender women who had never undergone hormone therapy (Kruijver et al., 2000).

In 2008, Garcia-Falgueras & Swaab discovered that the interstitial nucleus of the anterior hypothalamus (INAH-3), part of the hypothalamic uncinate nucleus, had properties similar to the BSTc with respect to sexual dimorphism and gender incongruence. The same method of controlling for hormone usage was used as in Zhou et al. and Kruijver et al. The differences were even more pronounced than with BSTc; control males averaged 1.9 times the volume and 2.3 times the neurons as control females, yet regardless of hormone exposure, trans women were within the female range and the trans men within the male range.

But if you don’t want to talk science (I know, it’s scary), maybe consider why in the god damn fuck you even care so much. No one is forcing you into a sex change. That’s not the goal. I don’t give a single fuck what you think. I’m a man. Your whining isn’t going to change that.

I don’t need to medicalize myself to make you accept me, because I simply do not care enough whether you accept me or not. Have a cup of tea, think long and hard about why you’re so angry about people being able to live as their true selves, and get off my damn post.

Pregnant men exist. Not just as an uwu mpreg fanfic trope or a joke. Just because you think pregnancy is gross or icky doesn’t mean you can’t treat pregnant people with respect, regardless of gender or sex. Even in the queer community, trans men who choose to carry their children are seen as an anomaly or as betraying everything they’ve worked for. They aren’t. If I carry a child, I’m still just as much of a man.

Also, I understand if the idea of pregnancy is dysphoric for many trans men. I do. But trans men being pregnant isn’t an excuse to exclude them from queer spaces or treat them with anything less than the same respect you would anyone else. Many trans men experience dysphoria regarding the idea of pregnancy, but many don’t. Their body isn’t your business. Don’t be fucking weird.
