I had two interesting dreams last night. (I usually have several dreams per night and only pick the most interesting ones to write about here) This is the first dream, I’ll post about the second dream later today if I feel like it

In order to understand this dream, ya gotta know about the lore of some previous dreams of mine. Here’s some posts of previous dreams that will help with the context of this dream.

Ok, in this dream I found a let’s play done by Markiplier (or at least someone who sounded like him) of Pokémon FireGold, a rare and infamous hacked version of Pokémon HeartGold that includes several new features and game mechanics. It also had a few fakemon added as well, like a bubblegum themed Water/Fairy type Pokémon named Bubbleling.

The reason the game was so infamous was because you had a rare chance of encountering one of the many Pokémon Titans while playing, which first appear to you as shiny legendaries before revealing thier true form. Alas, poor Markimoo didn’t know about that and was shocked when a shiny “Rayquaza” he was battling turned out to be Zebra, a Rock/Ice type Titan that looks like a cartoony zebra with a long neck and tentacles for legs. He ended up fleeing from the battle after Zebra knocked out half of his team in one hit without him even managing to do any damage to it.

In a later part of the let’s play, Mark became curious about the Pokémon Titans and googled stuff about them, leading him to find a wiki for FireGold that had a list of all of the Pokémon Titans you could summon in the game. A lot of them were ones I’ve seen in previous dreams, like Sunday and Rake, but there were two that I didn’t recognize named Void and Lillith who were Ghost/Dark types. Void looked like a dark purple cloud with several tendrils and a single glowing red eye. Lillith was similar to Void, but was dark maroon and had what appeared to be the face of an attractive woman wearing makeup. I remember Mark spent most of his time on the wiki mocking the Titans by saying thier names in weird voices to imitate what they might sound like if they were in the anime

Amid all the stuff that Ubisoft did right with this game- and they did so much right- I think the real unsung hero is the soundtrack. From the music in the opening cinematic that instigates the Darktoons to attack the Glade of Dreams, to well-crafted scores that complement each stage's theme and worm their way into your head with their sublime quirkiness, it all complements the art style so well.

In addition to being a great single player game, Rayman also features an up to four player co-op, a la New Super Mario Brothers, allowing you and three friends to navigate the hazards out there together. Luckily checkpoints are frequent, and since players that fall or get hit are 'bubblelized' and can get tagged back in by floating close to another player, progress is possible even if you have to carry a weak link. This will prove especially nice to those of you who like to game with your kids, or who have spouses who aren't as good at games as they think they are.

All in all, I can't think of much to complain about concerning this game. It looks and sounds great, the controls are solid and replayability is high. Lots of fun, lots of challenges, lots of heart, and lots of charm. In fact, the only negative thing I can even think to say is the game is 15 years too late to be a part of the genre's heyday and get the attention it deserves. Rayman Origins has been out since November 2011, and so far its story has been one of critical success but commercial disappointment. I think that will change over time, though, because despite the decline of 2D gaming, Rayman Origins is in it for the long haul. Games this good don't go unnoticed forever. If you are a fan of great platforming in the vein of classic Mario Brothers or Sonic the Hedgehog titles, you owe it to yourself to check this game out now.

There's nothing worse than a game that's difficult enough to require precision, only to give you control of a character that floats around or whose jumps seem ever so slightly delayed. Luckily that is not the case here, as Ubisoft nailed the controls. Everything from sprinting to jumping feels tight and responsive, and Rayman (or Globox, one of the tweenies, or any one of a number of other unlockable characters) seems to go exactly where you mean him to go. Replayability is also good as completionists will find themselves playing each level multiple times in an effort to collect all the Lums, find all the hidden Electoon cages, and earn all the time trial trophies.

I have my small universe, as everyone else.

I am hermetic as fuck, I have my plants, my stories, the pictures in my phone, my books, my drawings, my Internet friends, my bad days, my safe spots, the changing perception of me and my body, my writings, my videos, my worries, my investigation lanes. I have strong opinions about a thousand things. I experience everything I do in my own unique way and I spend hours just mumbling and talking to myself about theories, experiments and why's. I am a thousand different characters and I become them through clothing and makeup. I live in a constant battle against myself I let nothing I do think or say just happen randomly I question everything, I am bubbleling up in thoughts and dreams all the time, I am an insecure piece of shit. I wouldn't let anybody in this capsule that has grown around me. Even though I really want to. Could I keep my sanity letting someone who owns a piece of me go? Do I want to find out? Would they be fascinated or horrified?

What a mess have I made of myself. I am arrogant and naive, I'm a young kid. I am full of love and made of love.
