Paul

Metal crunching, sirens wailing, frantic voices - they were all on a loop in my brain and I was helpless to stop it.

I could feel the eyes on me, the worried glances, but I didn’t give a shit.

“Sam, please don’t-”

“Paul, you’re wearing a hole in the floor, the doctors have it under control-” I know Sam is trying to reason with me, reason with my wolf, but I can’t take it.

“Don’t fucking tell me this shit is fine or it’s going to be fine, it’s not fucking fine!” I close my eyes and force out a breath, blowing up at my brother is not what I fucking need right now. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean-”

“Don’t, I know what you’re feeling. Imprints and rational thought don’t go together.” Sam gives me a sad, lopsided grin.

Just then, a nurse walks in the waiting room and the entire pack stands. It’s late in this po-dunk little town and we’re the only people here, she’s here about my girl.

“Are you the family of-” She starts but hesitates, eying everyone gathered.

“Yes, all of us.” Thank the ancestors for Sam taking charge, I don’t think I could force out a response past the tightness in my chest.

“She is stable,” relief floods my system, “but she remains in critical condition.” Panic, pure and thick forces its way down my throat and everything grinds to a fucking halt.

What does she mean ‘stable but critical’?

I can’t hear anything she continues to explain, the ringing in my ears too loud. Sam, I turn to my brother, watching as he focuses on the nurse and nods along. If she’s stable, why do I feel like I’m drowning?

A hand on my shoulder startles me, Jared.

The nurse must of finished her report, because Sam meets my gaze - his lips are moving, but I can’t fucking hear. He grips my shoulder and tugs me forward, into the hallway, but no one is following us.

“Breathe.” His voice is under water and distant, my vision is soda-strawed in on his mouth and I’m trying. I’m trying to understand, trying to suck in oxygen.

My lips are starting to tingle, just like my fingers.

She—I can’t—she can’t—

I can’t even string a thought together about what this means in a way that makes sense and the silence in this hallway is fucking roaring.

Sam cups the back of my neck and brings me forward so that we’re forehead to forehead, his other hand grabs my wrist to bring my hand to his chest, he exaggerates a deep breath and waits for me to follow suit.

Breathe in, breathe out.

I didn’t notice the tremor in my hands, in my arms, my body.

The ringing in my ears begins to fade.

Breathe in, breathe out.

The beeping of heart monitors and the low voices of our family begin to filter through the fog surrounding my brain.

I bring my other arm around Sam’s shoulder and pull him in for a hug, I’d be absolutely fucked without this man’s guidance.

“Thank you.” My voice is small and muffled by his thick jacket.

“Always here, brother.” He pats my back in a soothing manner and it shakes me out of the lingering stupor that had me paralyzed. “Let’s go see her.”

“See her?” I can’t contain the surprise and the hope in my voice, I get to see my girl?

“Nurse said she can have two visitors at a time, I’ll sneak the rest of the boys in later, but she needs you first.”

Following Sam down the hallway feels like a dream, a nightmare.

He stops at a door and glances over his shoulder, raises an eyebrow and pushes it open after I nod. I focus on his back as we enter the dimly lit room, but my eyes snap to the figure on the bed when I hear a small hitch in Sam’s breath.

My girl.

My imprint.

My reason for existing.

There’s so many wires. Wires running under the collar of her hospital gown, a heart rate monitor clipped to her delicate finger. Tubes, ancestors—the tubes. She has a breathing tube forced in her mouth, an IV line taped to her right forearm, but the worst yet if that’s even possible—my eyes burn at the sight of a larger gage tube peeking out from the left side of her gown currently draining into a clear container of blood at her bedside. There’s swelling and the beginning of bruising around her left eye that makes me shudder. And fuck, all the cuts, my eyes scan over every inch of exposed skin. The fucking cast on her right leg.

My sweet, sweet girl.

I take a shuddering breath as Sam scoots a chair within my reach, I tug it towards the end of her bed—afraid to touch her anywhere other than the uninjured real estate of her body, which leaves me with her left ankle. I wrap my hand around it and frown at how cold her skin is. I’m here, I’ll warm you up.

Sam pulls up on the other side of the bed facing her, “Three cracked ribs, a fractured orbital bone, a punctured lung, and a broken tibia. They’re worried about the lung, it’s been sutured, they’re monitoring the chest tube output.” He scrubs a hand down his face, “she’s sedated for her own comfort, which is why she’s intubated. To give her some rest.”

I squeeze my eyes closed as he lists everything, why my girl? My imprint? Before we’ve… even had a chance? A tear slides down my cheek and clings to my chin annoyingly.

“Paul, she’s going to make it,” my eyes snap open, ready to chew him out because fucking look at her, but he continues, “she’s banged up to hell and back, but the docs are confident she’ll recover. She just needs you and some rest.”

I glance at her and send a prayer up to the ancestors, please let them be right. I’ve never asked for anything, but I’m asking for her.

“She is strong, has to be if she’s yours.” He gives a half-assed chuckle that barely lifts the corner of my mouth.

“Ancestors know, she’s got a handful to deal with if she ever accepts the bond.” I can tell my tone is sad and I wince.

“You have to give her the chance, but I know she will.”

My eyes snap to his.

“Don’t give me that look, that girl is head over heels for you.” He dared to fucking smirk.

“H-how could you possibly know that-”

“She looks at you the same way Kim looks at Jared, same look I see in Em’s eyes every day, you’re just fucking blind.” Sam states it like it’s a matter-of-fact.

I huff, no fucking way.

“Huff all you want, but you brother, are lovable—contrary to your own hard-headed belief. And you already love her.”

“Of course I fucking do, she’s meant for me.”

“Meant for you, that’s what the imprinting tells us. But I’m talking about the love sick puppy eyes you follow her around with-”

“I don’t-” But he cuts me off.

“You do and you’re not as covert with it as you think you are.”

He’s right, I can’t fucking argue with that.

“How do you do it?” I ask him abruptly.

“Do what?” I can feel his eyes on me.

“Sit here, useless, like this. With her, like that.” My voice is quiet, afraid.

“It’s not easy,” he sighs and leans back in his plastic chair, “but you do it because she needs you, she’s the center of your gravity now, the reason behind everything we do. So we wait, together.”

I nod along, folding my arms and settling in to watch the steady rise and fall of her chest.

I’m here baby, I’m here.

Soft mummering slowly starts to peck at my awareness, the dull pain beginning to flare in my back from being hunched over the foot of this hospital bed.

“How long have I been here?” Her scratchy voice wraps around my heart and squeezes.

Her heart rate ticks up audibly on the monitor and I lift my head to answer her, “Three days.”

I squeeze her uninjured ankle gently, so fucking glad to finally see those eyes.

“Going for coffee, I’ll bring you back one.” Sam turns to kick the boys awake and it causes her to giggle, fuck I missed that sound.

As they leave and the door clicks shut, a heavy tension settles over the room causing my heart to leap into my throat.

“Sweetheart.” I opt for being gentle, she won’t meet my eyes so I swipe my thumb over the skin of her ankle.

Her eyes meet mine and I list off her injuries, needing to get the information out of the way before I fuck all of this up with my feelings, but I can’t finish the sentence—the feeling of helplessness crashes back into me.

“Paul,” I close my eyes and inhale at how gently she utters my name, “Paul.” She’s serious now, I turn to her with the beginnings of tears causing my vision to swim. Why can’t I fucking do this?

“I’m still here, what are you so scared of?” Her voice is so small, the insanity of her question pulls a laugh from my chest.

I rub at my temples and mumble a “You.” Hoping she wouldn’t catch it, terrified she would.

“What?” Surprise, she’s genuinely surprised.

“You.” My eyes lock onto hers with full force and my resolve steals a bit. “You’ve… you’ve wormed your way in here-” my chest is on fire and her breath hitches, “and I was scared. Am scared.” Pausing to gather my thoughts, the tension is thick, “your car, seeing it flipped… it’s like the world stopped and I couldn’t hear anything-couldn’t think straight, but watching you getting pulled out, I-” I groan out of frustration. “I-I-” I stutter like a fucking idiot, get a grip. “So I haven’t left. Can’t. I can’t even think of leaving this room let alone going home and just being useless-”

“Paul, I’m fine.” She tries to reach for my hands, but she stops mid-motion and lets out a small gasp, her ribs.

“Please don’t do that, don’t say that, you weren’t awake when they brought you in with that fucking tube down your throat-” my hands start trembling and I stop. “You weren’t fine and nothing-nothing else matters.” I finish with a whisper.

Her chin starts to wobble.

Fuck.

“Sweetheart,” I rise from my chair and cup her delicate cheeks, mindful of the scratches and bandages. “Sweetheart, please…” I swipe my thumb over her cheekbone to try and soothe her, but a tear spills over and threatens to stop my heart.

“I’m so sorry.” Her voice wobbles and it spears me right down to my soul.

I lean down further, pressing me forehead to her own, my nose barely brushing hers. The heart rate monitor picks up in speed and I grin, I affect her.

“I’m the one that’s sorry.” I admit quietly, before I lose my confidence. “I’m sorry I haven’t told you sooner how I’ve felt.”

She stops breathing all together, my lips brush her cheek as I whisper into her ear, “breathe.” She immediately gulps oxygen down.

What a good girl.

After a few seconds, her unusual quietness and my anxiety gets the better of me, “You don’t have to say anything-”

“Kiss me?”

I’m done for.

Box me up and throw me in the ground.

Kiss me? Kiss her? Is this real?

She’s like gravity and I’m helpless to resist her pull, I tilt her chin upwards and I search her face—committing this moment to memory for all of eternity.

“If you-” I can’t even let her finish the thought.

Heaven, this is what heaven is like. Has to be.

My mouth seals over hers and immediately I know nothing could top this, top the feel of how goddamn perfect we fit together.

I pull back because I know she needs oxygen, her monitors are beeping erratically all over the place. But she whimpers, fucking whimpers and chases my mouth.

Ancestors—she’s got me hook, line, and sinker.

I take pity on her and lean in with a chuckle before taking her mouth again. Fuck, how on earth have I managed to wait this long for this? I fear I could kiss her all day long and then some, ravish her from sun up to sun down and still not find it in me to stop.

My hands gently slide into her hair, I can’t fucking help it. A gasp from her punches right through my sanity and I shiver. I’m on auto-pilot and I seize the opportunity to lick past her lips and I fucking moan at how goddamn perfect she is.

She’s in the hospital. For a lot of injuries. She’s in pain. A lot of pain and on a lot of medications.

I managed to rip myself away and force my feet to pace around the end of her bed, get a fucking grip Lahote.

“Too much?” Her beautiful lips tilt in a shit eating grin, she knows.

Too much? Not fucking enough.

Before I could think of how to respond, Emily pushed the door open with a soft rap of her fist against the wood “knock, knock.”

Emily is like a soothing balm over my frayed nerves, always has been.

“Come in.” I tell her as I push my chair closer so that I can take her much smaller hand in mine, careful of the IV taped to the back of her hand. I can feel a satisfied grin overtaking my mouth as my eyes glue to our joined hands.

Remy listens to the radio as smoke trickles up into the sky from his cigarette. His papa would kill him if he found out Remy had started smoking any kind of cigarette, much less the ones that were hidden in loose floorboards in the kitchen. The herbal cigarettes had been left behind by omar and remy had not intended to smoke them when he first found them.

But... the idea of feeling warmth in his lungs had been an addictive idea that swirled about his brain for a solid week. And today he had felt so so lonely. Todd had not shown up and Remy feels stupid for relying on someone coming to him to bring any relief from the oppressive weight of his sin. Now as he stares at the roof, staring into the sky after the trails, he is glad for the warmth, but knows that he shouldn't be taking slow even drags, holding in the heat as long as he can stand. He should be stronger than this. He used to be.

He had not been able to find a lighter earlier. he had searched the house top to bottom, desperate not to have to use his powers for a task that would have been easy to do. In the end he had let a tiny spark escape, the first intentional use since he had murdered a man. it had terrified him. though, in equal parts, it soothed a part of his soul to see he could control it, even in a small burst.

Remy flicks the ash like he had seen his papa do a million times before the man had quit cold turkey. He curls a little and lets the smoke slip past his lips, warm and something. some sort of feeling in the face of the pit of cold nothing that sits in his chest. He closes his eyes with the next drag, tasting the smoke of different plants buring. a rose's petals. lavender. and a few other things. the heat curls over his tongue, inviting and warm. he opens his eyes and breathes upwards, letting the heat leave him.

Remy smokes it all the way down to the filter, weary, he has to go to bed soon. Saturdays were not a day off after all.

Remy rubs at his eyes as he walks over to unlock the front door. he blinks as he sees Todd there. Oh! The teen came early. Makes sense, given that there is no school on Saturday. Remy opens the door and todd immediately crickles his nose. 

"You smell like smoke dude."

Remy flushes. He had not washed his hair the night before after the roof. What kind of example is he setting? He swallows and runs a hand through his hair.

"Moment of weakness. Ill throw out the pack today.”

He had only smoked one, and there were three left in the mostly empty carton. Todd scrunches his nose further.

"Cigarettes stink.”

Todd says and Remy dips his head a little.

"Desole mon ami. Want a muffin?"

He steers the conversation away from his own failure. Todd bounces a little.

"Yes!! Gimme!"

"A please would pair well with that sentence.”

Remy teases as he walks back to the counter. He is happy to see Todd.

Really happy. he wants to ask why todd had not shown up yesterday, wants to admit to staying open late and waiting for the other teen. wants to admit that his heart had clenched with thoguhts of being abandoned and thinkning that he probaly desererved it.

He wants to.

But he doesnt.

Dumping all of that onto Todd would be cruel and unfair. Instead he grabs the freshest muffins and passes them over. Though... Remy will admit one thing. 

"missed you yesterday. Had no one to take my muffins."

He says with the strongest smile he can manage after yet another night of persistent nightmares. Todd groans.

"i had afterschool detention. then we got a stupid mission. Which sucked 'cause those x-nerds showed. Buncha jerks.”

Todd huffs, shoving a muffin in his face. Remy feels a rush of relief. so nothing to do with him. of course its nothing to do with him. He is just being...

Whatever.

For those of you who are new here, this will be VERY long. I like to chatter a LOT. And for those that have seen any of my other rec lists... you know what's up.

The STATUS of each fic is labelled as such: Finished, Ongoing/Unfinished, Discontinued or Indefinite Hiatus. Oneshots are also marked accordingly.

Fics with Explicit content and/or Dark themes have also been labelled to the best of my memory. (I don’t mark fics with suggestive themes/moments and no explicit smut, since I cant guarantee I’ll catch all of them. Similarly, unless there is consistent graphic death, gore, or other upsetting topics are central to the plot, I [probably] won’t mark it as "dark".)

I've also done my best to label each of these with which continuity they (broadly) exist in, if it's relevant. If it's not labelled it's likely because it's because I couldn't decide on a tag and/or it's set in an AU divorced enough from any specific continuity that I figured that a tag would just be a disservice to any sort of filtering. Either that, or I just missed it LMAO.

Also, usually I try not to include TOO many fics with explicit content in these lists because my blog isn't specifically 18+ but uhhhh some of these are Pretty Damn Explicit, so use your best judgement while reading and all that 👍

One of the first few TF fics I read!! I'm a big fan of first contact AUs and linguistics so I fell in love with this fic immediately. I also fell in love with Swerve immediately. He's SO freakin cute in this. I read it before finishing IDW and so when I eventually got to Swerve in the comics I was like "OHHH!!! That's Swerve!? My beloved shooting star..."

The author's other work in the series (same premise, different character), Fox in Shining Armor is also HELLA cute.

Reciprocated - [ TFP ] - Soundwave/Reader - Finished

The reader has a teeny tiny lil crush on Soundwave, which he discovers while monitoring Autobot communications. He continues listening in and begins to feel the same :]!

This one makes me cry every time I read it, it's just SO sweet and lovely and just. AUGH!!! There's no words for how freakin CUTE it is. I've read it soooo many times.

Flick of the Wrist - [ IDW ] - Whirl/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished

More first contact crashlandings!! Except it's WHIRL which is so so fun. He causes much property damage and you wouldn't trade him for the world.

The Angel of Highway 49 - [ TFP ] - Optimus Prime/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished

One of my favourite authors!!! I was so heckin excited when I realised they were posting Transformers fic LMAO.

And rightfully so! The fic is fantastic so far- Optimus becomes a sort of ghost story, a stranger who helps people along the highways. He's confusing and comforting and he's seemingly taken it upon himself to protect you.

Social Media Etiquette - [ TFA ] - Prowl/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished

The start of this is a really funny concept (buncha coworkers discussing which Autobot they'd bang) and then it just continues on being super super adorable and sweet. I love TFA!Prowl and I love the way he's written in this!!!

Swaps seamlessly between cute romantic trysts and the absolute chaos of other people watching these two wander into love.

winter of our youth - [ TFP ] - Ultra Magnus/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished

Ultra Magnus accidentally ends up with a human companion who mostly wants to get back to their own life, only for both to become steadily more entangled. I absolutely adore the vibes in this fic- it feels slow, soft, and bright like a world muffled by snow.

west texas wind - [ G1 ] - Protectobots/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished

By the same author as above! Protectobots my BELOVED. It's so soft and sweet and auuauauhghhh I need more. It updated while I was in the middle of writing this list and just ahh! I LOVE IT. So cute. So sweet. I love seeing the different characters reactions to each other and their actions- it's so fun.

You should also go check out their other fics, because the way they write character dynamics is sooo lovely, and their fics have been Nourishing me because I'm in love with a lot of characters that rarely get reader inserts :'> !!!

As a neutral party in all this war stuff, you just want to help fix up bots. This ends up endearing you to both factions, which results in you befriending one explosive Wrecker, and sometimes hosting a bunch of Decepticons in your garage.

TFP setting with a dash of IDW lore <3 I love the way the relationships develop in this fic- Shcokwaves emotions (or lack of) is always fun to explore, especially in the context of love and having Romantic Feelings. It gets even more complicated when the thing preventing him from feeling things begins to malfunction...

Small Hands - [ TFP ] - Optimus/Reader, Ratchet/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished

Soulmate AU!! Oohoho I love soulmate AUs... having THIS one be handprints is an especially fun, considering the size difference !!! Also, I love the way Cybertronian soulmates work :0

OP and the reader interacting and slooooowly figuring things out is very sweet.

I'm fascinated and delighted by the eventual work around for the language barrier as well, because it's nit perfect but it works and it's so cool to see both Sideswipe and Sunstreaker finding their own ways to communicate and connect with the reader in this.

Smut is skippable in this, but why would you want to do that? It's amazing :3c

Language barriers >:3c!!!!! Mmmm Rodimus thinking of himself as heroic when he's unintentionally the opposite is one of my favourite flavours of Rodimus, and this series tackles that in a really fun way. The opposing perspectives are SO good and I love that the same scene is seen in such different ways by characters. The tension that grows throughout the series is So good.

I especially enjoyed Sparkbeat, A Game of Mech and Mouse AND ALSO Darkness is Honest, Are You to Yourself? because I love hopeful endings <3

You get into a dogfight with an unusual sort of plane and Starscream finds himself a new toy of sorts :3c I really enjoy that there's a language barrier but we as the audience still get to know what Starscream is saying. AUGH I love the dialogue. So good.

Snow Angel - [ G1 ] - Skyfire&Reader - Oneshot

You get lost in the snowy wilderness, but luckily you are found by some sort of angel... I looooove this so much. I love the delayed reaction the reader has because of the cold... and Skyfire is so gentle, it makes my heart skip a beat every time I read this.

More first contact stuff!!! Ratchet stumbles across an injured human after crash landing on Earth. He tries to help, with mixed results. Again, I'm a big fan of language barriers, and I enjoyed Ratchet figuring out how to help the human to the best of his ability without being abke to properly communicate at the beginning. The moment when commutation IS established is also very funny to me sbfjdbdk

I love Transformers. I love Stardew Valley. This fic mashes them both together in a really fun way!! You, as per Stardew Valley fashion, inherit your grandfather's farm, except you end up finding a dog and a strange... doll? One becomes many and soon you have the entire (tiny!) Lost Light crew living with you.

Very very sweet!! The reader is a Terran who is selectively mute, and they have a run in with Megatron, who turns out to be much less scary than you imagined.

I've included this here because the fic contents isn't Specifically Romantic, and also from what I understand of ES, the Terrans are usually portrayed to have a familial relationship to the Cybertronians, but please correct me if I'm wrong!!

Ah yeah, don’t worry it’s because part 8 of the crumbs masterpost isn’t out yet, I’ve been lazy with it but it’s been overdue ever since the second half of season 2 started, and it does have a buncha stuff don’t you even worry lol my god… I just need to get out some stuff for it first. On this though: I personally don’t give it much weight but it’s valid to read into it.

What we know:

Against: - Kui does make characters blush both when they’re drunk AND when they laugh. - Chil is confirmed drunk/tipsy in that scene because in the picture above his little mood chibi is drunk lol. - The point of the scene is that he laughs at her, the joke is that he laughs at her. If there’s subtext it’s still very much secondary and easy to miss and ‘besides the point’ anyways, buut does this subtext exist? Well…

For: - In the dating sim cover, the other option was "tell her she looks pretty". None of the choices seem outrageous for his character so it’s not random throwaway lines, though of course the reasoning behind it may be as simple as ‘it’s formality’. In the chapter cover, Marcille’s section is the one on top of every other one at center stage, which makes sense since it’s for bicorn chapter and bicorn chapter is THE Marcille & Chil chapter. You may be drunk but pull yourself together omg - Chilchuck does deflect his more compromising feelings so this would be in character. building the cheapest & easiest pond ever to keep the animals in your yard hydrated:

get a big bucket. the one pictured is 17.8 gallons & only $13. there's also plastic planters that are more wide than deep, but they're more expensive & a lot smaller. kiddie pools can also be used if you have the room. I think this would actually be really cool. they're about the same price as this bucket & I've seen them at basically any big chain store ever. you can bury your waterproof container of choice or just keep it above ground for easy removal/deconstruction

get a big filter sponge, big enough to cut a hole for the pump to fit inside of, just to cover the intake & prevent it from getting clogged. you may also need to get tubing if you want to make a waterfall instead of just having the pump circulate the water. you could also buy a spillway that hangs off the edge if you want idk I'm not the boss of you

get play sand. it's just regular sand that's dirt cheap, don't worry about it. put a big thick layer on the bottom, enough for plants to root & so the weight of the rocks is more evenly dispersed. you can also line the bottom with gravel or some kind of filter media (you can buy this in bulk at most pet stores) or eggcrate (for weight dispersal) before putting the sand

this next step will probably require you to travel around & explore your area. I live relatively close to a walmart where the construction crew dug up & dumped a shitton of rocks in the woods behind it, like a tiny quarry. I call it the snake pit, due to the snakes & the pit. I get my rocks from there since it's also an easily accessible trail with closeby parking. find your snake pit, get a sizable rock, hit other rocks with it to make more rocks. make sure they're safe to use first, especially if you want aquatic/semi-aquatic animals in your mini-pond. get really big rocks if possible, enough that you can pile them up to break the surface of the water. if you have no way to carry them home, you can either buy a little wagon to help out or you can just get smaller decorative stones & then for breaking the water's surface around the floating plants--

get a bunch of branches. driftwood is awesome but not everyone lives near a bigass river/lake so just grab anything safe. newly broken-off branches are better, & always check to see if bugs are living in there first. if you can, pre-soak them all in water for a while. the rocks & wood going past the surface of the water is important for helping animals that have fallen in btw & are too heavy to use the plants as leverage so they need to be sturdy

if you want, you can buy rocks & wood from an aquarium store, but just know it will be more expensive than literally anything on this list. "but slate looks so nice!!" it's not worth it just get some rocks from the ground. wood is understandable, though, since store driftwood is clean

go to a pet store that has fish, preferably an aquarium store specifically, & see if they have red root floaters, duckweed, & those bamboo type plants (they will, these are extremely common). check to see if anyone's giving away duckweed because there's probably someone in your area trying to get rid of theirs. there may also be some in the nearest body of water. duckweed spreads insanely fast & is hard to kill. it's also edible. I prefer red roots though because they're big enough for larger insects like wasps to stand on safely, which is the whole point of the pond. the bamboo is just for the aesthetic & also because it's available everywhere & is also hard to kill. if you have experience with more difficult plants then go hog wild with whatever you want. if the store is selling duckweed for $15 walk away. it should be $5 for a massive clump At Most

set things up like this: place the bucket where you want it -> 1 inch gravel -> buncha sand -> pile the big rocks up to the rim towards the back side -> wood -> set up filter/pump away from the sand like on the side of the bucket or on a rock -> optionally, attach the piping for the pump to wherever you want the water to pour from -> set up rooted plants -> put a cup in the bottom & put the hose in it to fill with water without disturbing the sand -> add floating plants -> plug in pump -> dechlorinator, though if you wait a few days it'll evaporate on its own -> drink something because it's 36 fucking hell degrees celsius in the shade

profit from wasps recognizing you as the water bringer. the ones in my backyard let me get away with anything despite being aggressive & sting-happy towards everyone else

recognize that all prices are in Canadian dollars so prices may vary & that this is not meant to be super fancy & longlasting, just the bare minimum you need for a pond
