I drew a few of the fan depictions of Mike/Tenna as a TV. If one of these was selected as the canon design, which one would you prefer? Or I dunno, tag yourself or something.

As per your recent post, may I ask why the whole Magnus protocol thing pisses you off? No obligation to answer, just wondering.
Yo! Ummmm. Hmm. It's mostly from a personal perspective/my opinion/feelings on TMA?
I really did like how the story ended, I thought it wrapped up well, the thought that we didn't KNOW what happened in the aftermath or what happened to jmart & Co definitively, felt really fitting and a nice full circle close on the story as a whole. It ended where it should've and I was really satisfied with that. It had told its story and that was it. Part of TMA (the whole thing you could argue) is the fear of the Unknown so like. Idk it felt fitting.
Around the same time it was ending/s5 there was kind of a big boom in the Fandom, and there was a lot of new fans who binged the whole of 5 seasons in like. A week or two and then wanted, understandably, more?
I don't really have sources to back me up I'm just speaking from personal experience talking w people who I've recommended the show to post-finale and who listened to it post-finale, and this isn't to be gate keepy or try and bash newer fans like. It's a good show I'm glad that people are still discovering it. Etc etc etc whatever.
Its of my PERSONAL OPINION. that continuing the story that TMA told is a disservice to the story itself. I have a post here that I made back when it was announced that kinda explains a little bit better.
I don't mean to accuse anyone working in it or listening to it of like. Being a cashgrab or pandering to fans or anything like that, I'm just personally dissatisfied and a little disappointed about it.
Im just not excited, I'm sure it'll be good? Johnny Sims has a style of writing horror I'm a huge fan of, im sure everyone who worked on it worked hard and im sure they all did an incredible job and I'll probably. Listen to it someday? Im just. Dreading it. Idk. I'll probably ramble jn the tags a little more and be more incoherent but like. Eh. Not excited, seems stupid. Sorry.
TL;DR it's of my opinion that TMA didn't need a continuation, had a good ending for the story it was telling, and tmagp is a disservice to that story. Whatever.

[Image ID: a lineup of 4 non-player characters from my D&D campaign. from left to right. first is a tiefling with orange-red skin, short brown hair, and grey eyes. their left horn is broken. they wear a black cloak, brown leather armour, striped pants and are holding a hunting knife. next is a half-elf man with dark brown skin. his dark brown hair has a grey streak and he is holding a cane. He has two designs. the first wears a black coat, grey pants, white gloves, and little round glasses. the second is a ringmaster-style costume: green tailcoat with silver embroidery, white pants, and he's also wearing some pale blue eyeshadow. In both his shoes are splattered with blood. Next is a white human man with white hair and red eyes. He wears a black suit with red lapels and a grey waistcoat. He is holding a wooden stake. Lastly, a human woman with brown skin and hair. Her eyes are red and she wears a white collared shirt with poofy sleeves and a long grey skirt. She has a chatelaine. They are all standing in a row against a grey background. End ID]
lineup for a dnd campaign heavily based off of curse of strahd. left to right: ezra d'avenir, dr. rudolph van richten, rictavio, lon godfrey, moira godfrey
#ezra is a revamp van richten is the Same and lon+moira are original but inspired by dracula.#dnd#dungeons and dragons#art#artists on tumblr#dnd npcs#ocs#<-sure? whatever#curse of strahd#not a fan of the guy (strahd) myself. he's dead in my version and its a whole thing#Anyways really happy with rictavio/van richtens designs esp his face and hair. not so happy with ezra but I'm satisfied enough.#kind of obsessed with their dynamic. very fun to write because van richtens fucked up but means well really but has a weird definition of#meaning well. and ezra is like the kid whos unpacked a lot of the baggage they got from her parent and no longer sees the parent as remotel#good. which fucks with van richten because he very much wants to be a good parent after losing his family. so its interesting#also im such a sucker for reveals so obviously van richtens disguise thing piqued my interest. his commitment to the bit is so funny to me.#if the players dont figure it out im going to cry /j#but fr his design is fun because he has to be believably a silly storytelling ringmaster guy but also a Renowned Monster Hunter so I have t#capture that duality and hidden side. hes constantly keeping secrets and acts manipulative a lot so he's a mysterious person which was fun#to work on. details like the blood splatter and him only wearing silver and the makeup are just awesome to me. god I love character design.#minor blood tw#knife tw#ALSO did similar things with the godfreys who are secretly vampires. details like their hands being triangle shape language wise than the#rest of them or them only having gold jewelery/metals are meant to clue people into that nature. i think the red eyes were a little to far#maybe. might change that one detail or simply omit it from their verbal descriptions until its the correct dramatic time to.#ravania tag

As far as Tetsuya Nomura's designs for Final Fantasy X-3 Tidus and Yuna are concerned (and I still hope Final Fantasy X-3 doesn't happen--unless what we know about it thus far gets a major overhaul--because the Final Fantasy X-2.5 novella and Final Fantasy X ~Will~ audio drama were so bad), I do think that it's sweet that Tidus kind of looks like Jecht now--to even moreso show that he really has forgiven his father (and really did love him, of course). And I don't mind Yuna with long hair. But I hate that they made her a Summoner again--and put her in an outfit that, (from what little we can see of it), looks reminiscent of her Summoner's garb from X: almost like they're trying to undo all of her development from X-2. Bah!

to not spoil it, they quietly killed off the ncr for absolutely no reason and made the BOS victors for some reason.
house is not dead, but for majority fucked over at the battle of the hoover dam. how it is not stated yet.
but you’re pretty much correct everything else, so real “let’s wipe the slate clean bullshit”.
Of course he lost the dam.
The NCR was the main force behind Hoover Dam's acquisition in the first place, wrenching it out from under Caesar at the last second when Hanlon and the Rangers pulled their hail mary.
Without the Bear of the West, the Three Families probably defected into Caesar or fell to the Legion or just straight up deserted House once they realized a couple hundred tanks on tricycles would never be able to stand up to the Several Thousand Trained Berserkers that make up Caesar's Legion by year 2277.
I'm just curious as to what the Tin Can Buffoons will do to him when they find him. Or if he's made contact with Boston yet as his own last stand hail mary, though that part's purely wishful thinking.
#honest comrade i'm sittin' here coming up with all the ways i can improve on my own aus and crossovers#simply by observing this highway pileup#and being all like 'huh well if they can do that–'#of course most fan-creationists aren't trying to impose new cannons on everybody else#and regardless of whether or not it's entertaining that doesn't make it right#to basically make it a precedent to say:#“YO NERDS! SEE THIS THING THAT YOU LIKE?#“WE FUCK YOU WE'RE GONNA TURN INTO A PISSASS SHAMBLER OF WHAT YOU LOVED ABOUT IT#“BECAUSE WE LIKE MONEY AND MAKING PEOPLE FIGHT EACH OTHER ON THE INTERNET”#“AND YOU'RE NEVER GOING TO SEE THIS THING THAT YOU LOVE EVER BE HONORED BY US EVER AGAIN HAHA FUCKING LOSERS—”#i mean what does that say about media and the industry around it as a whole?#that it doesn't care about its consumers so long as it's progressing?#anyway this is getting rambly#to the people who like the show: good for you there's something nice for you to tune into on your one day off#but me well i go to an art-film school#i get to see how this warped perception of how the audience will receive our art#(—a perception fostered by bigwigs with marketing degrees—)#effects the mindsets of the people responsible for my education and and also my peers#if the consumer consensus looks like 'oh these graphics look really good the game must be awesome!'#and the market research shows those games sell without any other facet of them being affected#then the industry is going to keep making beautiful but hollow games#sequels that don't care about their predecessor's lore to either continue or transform and improve upon it#sequels that get made into streaming serials of the same mindset#the idea that you can just throw away your previous audience because there will be new and “correct” people who will enjoy you stuff#is also a trend that i've noticed#for better or worse#and it truly is#a bit of a tragedy#fallout tv show spoilers

Finally watched Rogue One to see what the blind guy in it was about and I think I hate Star Wars now. Like, that was a bad movie. Too many characters, no time dedicated to introducing them before the boring fight scene that makes up most of the movie starts, and it feels like you have to know a lot more about Star Wars to get why any of it matters. And the fight scene is boring as hell. Did the writers just not know that the combatant chatter in A New Hope was based on fighter pilot talk from real wars or...? Anyway it sucked and I want my two hours back. I'm not even mad about how badly the blind guy is written because everyone is badly written. I can't even remember him, he gets like two lines and dies and we're supposed to care but why? Anyway I hope Andor is decent because I think that's the last Star Wars thing I'll be watching. The franchise has two and a half good movies and some rad as hell unofficial fanfic but for such a cultural juggernaut it's not actually any good.

Arw you really the author John Green? The same person who wrote The Fault in Our Stars and Looking for Alaska?
Yes, but I published one of those books 19 (?!?!?!) years ago and the other 12 (!?!?!?!?) years ago. What have I been up to since then?
My brother Hank and I started Good.store, which delivers high-quality socks, coffee, and soap to your home and donates 100% of its profit to charity. Through good store, we've raised over $7,500,000 to support efforts to radically reduce maternal mortality in Sierra Leone, where as recently as 2019, one in seventeen women could expect to die in pregnancy or childbirth.
(In fact, technically I am here on tumblr as an unpaid intern for the awesome coffee club, which you should really sign up for if you like ethically sourced coffee that tastes delicious and doesn't enrich billionaires.)
I wrote the novel Turtles All the Way Down and then had a little existential crisis and wrote a nonfiction book called The Anthropocene Reviewed, the latter of which is my first book for adults and my first attempt to write as myself.
I helped produce made a movie adaptation (streaming now on Max!) of Turtles all the Way Down.
I helped raise my kids and supported my spouse as she wrote her book You Are An Artist and created a PBS show about art called The Art Assignment.
I ran the educational media company Complexly and the merch company dftba.com while my brother had cancer.
I bought around 2% of a fourth-tier English football team called AFC Wimbledon. Wimbledon are different from most football clubs because they are owned by their fans, each of whom gets one vote in the club's leadership regardless of how much money they put into the club.
I became obsessed with tuberculosis, the world's deadliest infectious disease (it will kill over a million people this year despite being curable), and how TB both exemplifies and reinforces human-built structures of injustice, which is the subject of a book I'm writing that will come out next year.

I'm popping up this random Tuesday to share a few reminders with my fellow fanfic writers
Even your favorite authors had to work hard to get good. We are all awful writers until we decide to improve and take steps.
Every day is an opportunity to be a better writer than you were yesterday if you put in a little work
The love for your works must start with you. Be your own biggest fan
You're allowed to write at your pace.
its okay to embrace some "imperfections" in your writing. Imperfection is part of art because it makes you unique.
It's okay to let go of the writer you were yesterday. Change is normal and it's okay. You're still awesome and your new work will still have an audience. It's okay to look fondly upon a past you perceive as your "glory days" but don't let that make you insecure. Your heart of a writer and your creative talent remain true. Embrace the writer you've become and confidently run with it
Any story you come up with, and your writing style are both special and precious because it's your art
its okay to crave validation and compliments for your fanfic-writing. You poured your blood, sweat and tears into it like any other artist.
No matter how you feel about your writing, it is special because no one can do it like you.
It's okay to be satisfied with just being a fanfic writer. Having amazing writing talent doesn't mean you must force yourself to write original works or to be published.
Fuck AI
