If you were to hypothetically write your own retelling of the Perseus myth, how would you do it ? And which of his stories would you include ?

At this point it's almost necessary 🤣🤣. To dilute the misinformation, yk ? To have someone who actually knows and cares about Perseus and Andromeda write a story as a homage to his adventures. And someone who does more research than a one second stroll on Wikipedia.

Well I’m writing one rn and I’m trying to include every adventure possible, fringe ones no one has ever heard like that one time he killed a wild woman with Athena’s assistance in Lake Tritonis (coincidentally where the graiai also live) and the locals were so relieved that they started worshiping Athena, that harassment must have been bad lol, remember how Perseus supposedly did tons of quests but didn’t get the glory for it? I imagine this is one that slipped through the cracks and is still remembered.

I also want to include that time he chilled in Egypt with his distant cousins (how they recognized each other we may never know) and also this one story where when Perseus returned to Seriphos he tried to take a nap but couldn’t bc of the loud frogs so he prayed to Zeus to make them go silent, which Zeus then did which is hilariously one of the only times he’s been fatherly to Perseus.

I also want to include his relationship with the Cyclopes on the island, they decided to join him on his return to Argos just to help him build his kingdom, so it must mean they have been close, it would also help shut up the ppl who insist that Perseus only killed Medusa bc she was an ugly monster, when he was literally friends with multiple monsters.

While I have many (!!!) issues with The First Frost, I must say I am quite impressed by how they concluded Wen Yifan's family storyline. It wasn't perfect but it was a lot better than what we've seen so far.

For Wen Yifan to say explicitly that she is going no-contact, for her to walk back to Sang Yan and leave all smiles, for her to see her birthgiver wlaking away dejected and still not waver from her decision- it's so important to see that on tv.

As Asians we are culturally trained to forgive our elders for all their mistakes ( we'll not really cause they never see their actions as wrong and youngsters are not given the false pretenses of forgiveness) it was nice to see a mainstream show be unambiguous in its approach.

Alice I imagine has resentment to Renesme because she blocks her visions. Hence the to combat part. Jasper's gift is emotionally based..SO I was thinking Alice's feelings would also become his cause he feels everything...

First of all, I am shocked in the best way that someone is asking a Twilight question like this to me as if I know anything. I'll try my best.

For the sake of this ask, lets assume Alice inherited Bella's horrendous taste in names and named her child Greige.

As of canon, Jasper can already sense and manipulate Alice's emotions, including her frustration at Renesmee blocking her abilities. If her and Jasper's child is a hybrid, they would also block visions by default.

But let's say, that Greige doesn't block Alice, adopting this as part of their gift, similar to how Renesmee isn't blocked by Bella. This is if we're going off of the theory from @therealvinelle and @thecarnivorousmuffinmeta that hybrids gifts are very powerful and versatile, and focused on helping them survive. This would make Greige significantly less annoying to their mother than Renesmee, especially if Alice also gets to dress them up in adorable outfits and hyper control their life to an even greater extent than she controls Bella.

I do think Greige would have some skills of emotional manipulation, similar to how Renesmee seems to enthrall others and make them love her. But in terms of combining Alice and Jasper's gifts, the only thing I can think of is sensing the emotional outcome of decisions.

So like, if it's going to rain and Greige doesn't put on a coat, they can't see themselves getting rained on, but they can sense the annoyance and discomfort they would feel. If Carlisle decides to kiss Aro in front of everyone, Greige can't see the horrified expressions of the Cullens and everyone arguing about it, but they can sense the horror, disgust, jealousy, etc that the Cullens would feel, as well as the happiness and love that Carlisle and Aro would feel. Maybe not as useful as Alice's visions, but still helpful in a pinch.

Eddie picked at the loose cuticle. He almost had it off. He was tempted to bite it, but he knew it would only earn him a silent eyebrow raise. He took a breath. He was here for a reason. A lot of reasons, actually, but today it was a specific one.

“I don’t want to talk about it. I’m not ready to talk about it. But I don’t think I’ll ever be ready to talk about it. So. Let’s talk about it.”

“Before we do, what brought about the change?” Frank said.

Eddie should have known he would ask.

“Buck. He, uh, told me I should take some time off work. I almost took a swing at our boss.” Eddie let it sit there.

“And?”

“And if I’m going to do that I may as well just tear the bandaid off. Actually,” Eddie made a vague gesture with his hands. He didn’t know how to finish that sentence.

“Makes sense. Use the time wisely.”

Eddie was starting to lose his nerve. He really, really didn’t want to talk about this. About the whole reason he was here, why his son was gone. Why he was still so angry.

“I’m not doing it for Buck. Or Chris even,” Eddie felt the need to explain. “I mean, they help. Having them, but I can’t keep carrying this around.”

“It’s not recommended,” Frank said. “In my professional opinion.”

Eddie took another breath. He wished he had something to do with his hands that wasn’t picking at his cuticles. He tried to gather his thoughts. There was no place else to begin.

“I met her at the lake. Shannon. My late wife.” Eddie didn’t need to explain who Shannon was, but it was helpful. To remember the adjective. “We were 14. Then we were 17.”
