Baelfire was redressing-- he’d gotten naked to prove a point to another male escort. Obviously, he’d tell all ‘bout it to Leo and let the vamp deal with the dumbass. He knew that scent coming by a smiled a lil. “Hey Quint.”

Obviously the guy would know about this-- you couldn’t belong to Leopold Kennedy and not know-- unless he didn’t trust your ass. He didn’t have the power the Warden have to shutdown shit for him, but just enough influence for people to look the other way long enough to do something. Christ he hated hospital. He entered the room and waved his fingers at the guard in there who took the hint and went outside the room to guard it instead.

He sat down beside the guy and sighed. “When I said not to fail-- I didn’t think this was what you had in mind.” But he did have a bad feeling. “I threw myself off a skyscraper couple years ago when the first master who claimed me left. Couldn’t deal with the pain. At least, my way had a fucking much better chance of success than yours. You’re lucky your memories weren’t fucked up like mine-- then again, I almost exploded my brain’s out that day.” He was murmuring gently. Didn’t need any reasons to talk loudly.

“Truth is, you’ll get the same types of people around you for the next couple months-- those who’ll use your pain against you, those who’ll pity you and think they’ve got the solution to your happiness and a couple who’ll take this as a personal attack and be angry at you for causing them sadness. And a small group of people who you’ll have actually affected with your tentative-- those will be the ones you’ll feel most guilty ‘bout.”

“Ain’t no miracle solution. If you thought life was hard before-- you’re in for a fucking rude awakening. All those people you thought wouldn’t care-- you’ll see how badly they actually do and if you thought you knew what guilt felt like, it ain’t gonna compare to this. Call me an asshole for laying this all out and not saying hi, but I ain’t seeing the point of being any of those typical people to you. I don’t pity you, I’m not angry at you and I’m not hurt by what you did-- cause I’ve walked in those shoes before-- call it empathy.”

“I only have one question for you-- you tried to end your life so you wouldn’t suffer in, but then you could’ve done the same by leaving the city with your painful memories erased, but you didn’t. Why?”

The bath was usually used for stuff people didn’t wanna know about. But it had just been cleaned and fuck it cause he’d managed to convince Kim to let him use it before the usual shit started to fill it. He just needed a set to relax after the shit that had happened in the cells earlier-- dumbfucks had fought together and ignored him. They were all dead now.

He really needed a bath.

He heard someone getting in, but since his sixth sense was just telling him to be cautious cause he wasn’t alone anymore-- he didn’t pay them attention.

Baelfire was sitting on a rock with some random flower twirling between his fingers as he seemed to be gazing far away-- into the big grey that was his practically blindness.
