Two new faces will stir up all kinds of fresh drama when Alert: Missing Persons Unit returns to find more “babies.”

TVLine has learned that Ally McBeal vet Gil Bellows and Family Law alum Alisha-Marie Ahamed have booked major roles in Season 2 of the Fox procedural, which premieres Tuesday, March 5.

Ahamed will fill the series-regular role of Wayne Pascal, a master hacker whom Jason (played by Scott Caan) recruits to help out the team, even though she is currently serving a house arrest sentence in a dingy motel. Jason worked with Wayne when he was over in Afghanistan, yet conveeeeeeniently never told then-wife Nikki (Dania Ramirez) that Wayne was a beautiful woman. Oops.

Bellows, meanwhile, will heavily recur in the guest-starring role of Inspector Hollis Braun, Nikki and Jason’s new superior who “has every intention of keeping their antics in line.”

For those who need a refresher: Set in the Philadelphia PD’s Missing Persons Unit (MPU), Alert: Missing Persons Unit in each episode chronicles the life-or-death search for a missing person, headed by detectives Jason Grant and Nikki Batista. (Once married, Jason and Nikki have a very personal connection to these cases seeing as their own young son went missing and was never found.)

At MPU, Nikki leads a team that also includes Mike Sherman (Ryan Broussard, Only Murders In The Building), the fiancé with whom she is still planning a wedding; and Kemi Adebayo (Adeola Role, The Blacklist), a spiritually savvy detective. Petey Gibson will return for at least one episode as forensic anthropologist C, TVLine hears.

Harry Joseph Lennix III (November 16, 1964) is an actor. He is known for his roles as Terrence “Dresser” Williams in The Five Heartbeats (1991) and as Boyd Langton in Dollhouse. He co-stars as Harold Cooper, assistant director of the FBI Counterterrorism Division on The Blacklist. He has played Calvin Swanwick / Martian Manhunter in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League.

The youngest of four siblings, he was born in Chicago to Lillian C., a laundress, and Harry Lennix Jr., a machinist. He attended Quigley Preparatory Seminary South and Northwestern University, where he majored in Acting and Direction. In his senior year at Northwestern, he was the coordinator of the African-American student organization, For Members Only.

He starred in Keep the Faith, Baby (2002) as Rev. Adam Clayton Powell Jr. in Titus (1999), as Aaron the Moor; and as Commander in Chief.

In television, he had a recurring role in Diagnosis: Murder as Agent Ron Wagner as well as a voice-over role in the Legion of SuperHeroes. In 2007, he was an official festival judge at the first annual Noor Iranian Film Festival.

Wow, so I gotta be the one.

This time in lockdown has me visiting highly coveted 90′s television, which is my disclaimer for watching Ally Mcbeal in 2020. While I love the abstract, silly cases and a handful of the characters, I honestly can’t believe how repetively c h e e s y the show is. Also, I’ve been googling character analyses and there are unbelievably few talks about how insufferable Ally herself is. She makes Carrie Bradshaw look like Shirley Temple. I can’t fathom she was likable to the audience.... like, ever. And let’s not even get into how terrible Billy is. He legit yells at her all the time.... am I supposed to be rooting for her selfishly indecisive MARRIED ex who also happens to be her co-worker to fall back in love with her? AM I? Don’t even get me started on Georgia (who is likable but I mean, c’mon now. This level of oblivious does not exist anywhere in nature.) Vonda Shepard’s voice is high levels of cringe, and a man wrote the show. Do I really have to be the one to explore all these shortcomings (of the show which I am also slightly enjoying for some reason) ? BRB

Introverted Feeling (Fi): Ally gathers information at hand, assesses the situation, then decides which course of action to take in alignment with her concept of self and sense of justice. She tends to use internal imaginative metaphors and dreamy images to communicate with the audience (turning herself tiny, making out in a cup of coffee, etc).

Introverted Sensing (Si): Ally frequently reminisces over the past, including subjects like her childhood sweetheart Billy Thomas. Ally tries to pinpoint the exact moment she fell in love with Billy and why, in order to make sense of the direction of her life now. Ally’s vivid, detailed memory sometimes acts as a hindrance from moving on from the past, with Billy or others who were once let into Ally’s inner world (Fi). However, Ally can also call upon this function for comfort. When feeling anxious in the courtroom Ally digs into her childhood memories of watching her father; poised and collected, while delivering his addresses as lawyer, and is instilled with confidence to deliver the current case at hand.

Extroverted Thinking (Te): Ally is motivated, well read and can quickly make sense of cases uncorrelated to her field of law. However, ally is insecure about being taken seriously by the firm and their clients – fearing to go into conference meetings with clients, because she feels as though clients will view her as “a little girl”. Once she gets pass this fear, however, performs well and is able to get her point across in a straightforward, succinct manner; helping the firm land preferred clients. She also becomes rude, blunt, and confrontational under stress (”This isn’t like me!”).
