"Alright," Piper told her best friend as she wiped her dirty hands on her overalls, closing the hood after making sure all was in order. "You've got a new filter, fresh oil, checked the levels and made sure there were no leaks. You should be all good in around 3,000 miles." One of the many reasons she loved Juno? That girl took care of her car like it was her child. "Anything else you wanted me to check out?"

@uncanines [ WOUND ]: upon noticing a recent injury on the receiver’s person, the sender carefully moves closer, running a thumb (or hand) across the wound in a gentle, troubled manner. ( for aleki and juno ) ___________________________________________
Juno’s breath came in short, uneven bursts as he leaned against the exposed concrete wall of the dimly lit corridor. His left hand clutched his side, fingers smeared with a thin layer of ink-streaked blood. The tear in his suit clung to the gash beneath it, shallow but angry, jagged with the memory of a near miss. His skin was already warm where the Mending Threads tattoo faintly pulsed, the glowing stitches crawling from his chest to slowly knit the wound closed. His muscles ached from the constant drain, and his vision flickered slightly at the edges—a warning sign he stubbornly ignored.
Footsteps approached, firm and deliberate, and Juno forced himself to straighten as Aleki rounded the corner. He must’ve been broadcasting pain without realizing it—Aleki’s narrowed gaze went straight to the wound. The vibration manipulator’s jaw tightened as he stepped closer, saying nothing at first, but his hand came up instinctively, fingers brushing against Juno’s side with a slow, deliberate touch. His thumb traced along the broken skin with unexpected care, calloused but gentle, the subtle tremor of his ability barely perceptible.
Juno let out a breath through his nose, almost a scoff, forcing a crooked grin despite the sharp ache in his ribs. “It’s nothing I can’t handle,” he muttered, voice low but thin with exhaustion. His hand pressed over Aleki’s briefly, as if to still him. “Sure... my abilities can heal this one up, but I’ll make it.” The words came with a flash of stubborn defiance, but the dull edge of strain in his voice betrayed him. "What are you doing here anyways.." he looked down, a little embarrassed to have another agent see him like this.

Priya thought about it before she shrugged, "I guess? I mean, that's not something I've touched in years, so I can't even pretend to help with that. Do you have like...a deadline or something to hit?"
“ isn’t that a story still?” Juno noted as she raised a brow. Honestly over the years she had learned that everything was a story of looked through the correct optics. “ I mean maybe not the dealer themself but who is buying from them” @priyaxdesai

Construction Conundrum || Juno and Miyeon
TIMING: Current LOCATION: The Vinyl Countdown PARTIES: @seasandfoam and @fox--tales CONTENT WARNINGS: None SUMMARY: Juno is interested in learning about who is responsible for construction around town and decides to go to Miyeon for answers.
“One last reminder for the day, there’s a new traffic pattern off of main street starting today due to the new construction happening in the pines. A crystal viewing station and mining history of Wicked’s Rest is being built.” Miyeon pushed the last of her notes away. She’d survived today’s show. All that was left was to wrap it all up and she didn’t need a script for that, not anymore.
“Alright I know it’s tragic, but our time together is almost done for the day.” Miyeon cued up a sad slide whistle sound bite. “Don’t cry too much, we’ll be back tomorrow bright and early ready to help you start your day. Remember there ain’t no rest for the wicked, but you can always take a break with us. I’m Miyeon, your hostess with the mostest signing off.” And without further adieu, she started playing Cage the Elephant’s “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked” and slid her headphones off. The next block was queued up and ready to go, she shouldn’t need to sit and monitor things too closely. Which meant it was time for a break. Miyeon wondered if there was enough time to run to A Latte to Love before she had to check back in. Only one way to find out.
She hopped out of her chair, turned to the exit the booth and nearly fell over when she saw a face pressed up against the glass. “Oh my god,” she shouted, clutching her hand to her heart which was beating a mile a freaking minute. At least the person there didn’t get to hear how freaked she’d been. Man, it was a good thing the mics were off. Oh my god, she hoped they were off. She glanced back quick. Off. Okay, good. Now to deal with whoever was lurking outside the sound booth. “Hey, hello,” she said with a small wave as she snuck out the booth door, closing it softly behind her. “Um, do you need something? I don’t know where Leti is but I can probably help you if it’s quick.”
Juno had heard enough music to understand it existed, and it wasn’t as if fae didn’t have their own. It might just have looked a little different. Though she’d never met any, she had to wonder what kind of muse’s were responsible for some of the sensations coming out today, because Juno didn’t think they deserved to be popular at all. Not that it mattered. She wasn’t at Vinyl Countdown to insult the artists trapped behind royalty walls. Whatever that was.
It wasn’t hard to catch Juno’s attention, especially not where developments were concerned. It was like a siren song (despite her dislike for them). She had heard the radio show a few times now, always listening for new information from around town. It was faster that way, and though she was almost sure they were lies, just as on the internet, she wanted to trust there was some kind of reality to them. She peered through the glass, the girl on the end looking much younger than herself. Unfamiliar, too.
The shock that scattered across her expression did not make Juno feel bad. Instead, it brought a smile to her face. She was leaving the booth. That was good. She took a step back and blinked at the younger girl. “No, I don’t know who Leti is. I want to talk to you.” She jabbed a finger through the air before resting her hands on her hips. It was uncomfortable, coming across as human. “This won’t be quick. Or it might be. Depends.” She clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth. With a sigh, she began, “the development happening in the pines– who’s behind it? Do you know?”
Okay, it was going to be one of those days, wasn’t it? Miyeon smiled and tried not to let her eyes go too wide and betray her desire to skip right on over this conversation. “Oh, okay. I’m flattered, honestly. Leti owns this store, by the way. And the station. I just get to steal the spotlight for a little while every now and then.” Miyeon really wanted to cross her arms in front of her chest and close up, but she knew how to conduct an interview, and how to direct conversations. She kept her hands to her side and tried to keep her body language open, receptive. Her eyes were locked on the woman’s across from hers and everything about her countenance said she was all ears, ready to listen. Maybe if she looked like she was interested, she could keep this conversation short. Or at least on track. Something told her this was about to go off the rails.
“The development?” Miyeon blinked and had to jog her memory. Honestly, as soon as the scripts were out of her hands, most if not all of it was out of her mind. At least for the next twenty minutes or so. “Oh, uh, the crystal tourism place?” Miyeon got her updates on the town's comings and goings from all sorts of places, wherever she could nail them down, really. Most were sent in or funneled through the town hall and the mayor’s office. “I’m not sure, let me grab my notes, I might have jotted it down.” She placed a finger to her lips and waited to make sure that the other woman was going to remain quiet while she opened the door to the booth and slipped in to shuffle together the pages of notes she’d left tossed across the desk. She slid back out of the booth as quietly as she came and started flipping through her papers once the door was shut safely behind her.
“Hmm, I have an idea of who it could be, but I don’t remember one hundred percent and I don’t want to give you the wrong information. I think I have more info in my planner, though.” Against her better judgment, Miyeon waved for the lady to follow her to the desk in the back where she kept her things in between shows. She had her laptop to quickly edit the podcast together for the afternoon and, of course, her meticulously detailed planner. “So what’s got you interested in this development, by the way?” she asked as she started flipping through her planner, looking for her notes for today’s show.
So at least the girl was being helpful. That was a nice change of pace. Usually, Juno would have to fish out a thanks or some kind of other bind in order to see any real development for her cause. Juno watched as the girl dashed into the sound booth, mild frustration by being told to be quiet put on hold, but only because she wanted the information that the girl had.
But as she emerged, it turned out that she didn’t have the kind of information Juno quite needed. A certain bitterness cast itself upon her as she watched the girl silently, mouth beginning to taste sour. The more time she stood here, the more it was wasting her time, especially when it came to finding any real information out. Maybe she would just need to listen to a re-recording and put the information together herself.
Just as she was about to tell the girl nevermind, she was being told to follow. Juno tensed slightly and she nodded, following after the girl. There was a desk, a laptop, and a few books. She wasn’t sure what a planner looked like. Maybe it was in the laptop. At her question, she shrugged. “They shouldn’t be doing it. It’s disturbing the balance of what already exists there, and haven’t they heard about the warnings about the crystals, anyway?”
So the planner was not in the laptop. Interesting. Juno restrained herself from grabbing the planner out of the girl’s hands by crossing her arms over her chest. “Do you not wish to stop greedy tourists? Aren’t you tired of having to re-route yourself?” Maybe that wasn’t the best way to put things, but did it matter? “I, for one, would love to go ape-shit.” She’d heard it at the center she lived at very briefly and had found it funny. Understanding the context of it made it less funny, though. “It’s our action that puts a stop to things like this.”
Oh, so she was one of those. Miyeon had encountered plenty of crunch granola-eating, tree-hugging sort of people by now. A lot of them weren’t always too keen on some of the topics on the show. Like this one. Somehow always the things she literally had zero control over. She hadn’t guessed that was the kind of person she was dealing with at first sight, though. Miyeon worked to keep her countenance neutral, a well-trained habit that was easy enough for her to fall into when she was interviewing people. She’d learned a while ago not to wear her thoughts on her face and to keep her emotions close to her chest when she was working. If she wanted people to talk – and she did – she knew that the best way was to mirror the other person and if she couldn’t do that, then neutral was always safest. No one opened up to someone who confronted them and made them feel like they were in the wrong. And so Miyeon kept any thoughts like those to herself. Poor Leti got to hear all about it later, though. Every time.
“I hear you,” she said as she continued to flip back through her planner to find her list of incoming calls and requests from earlier this week. “This town is always a little off balance, though. Maybe it will end up tipping the scales the other way, who knows.” She added a smile and tried to keep things light and friendly. Like she knew full well that this girl was not going to take any kind of positive spin on this, no matter what she said, but it was worth the effort to try and cut some of the tension while she skimmed.
“Ah, here,” she said, pointing to a spot in her journal. “It looks like it’s partially funded by the town tourism board and that’s who called me to share the update. It looks like the majority is owned by a private company or whoever, though. I don’t know their name, though. But, I can tell you the name of the construction company they hired is called…” Miyeon sighed and rolled her eyes before reading off the name. “A Ladder of Fact. Oh my god, really? They went with that?” She shook her head, placing the planner back down on the desk and closing it shut.
“I mean, yeah, the detours are annoying but I don’t know if—” Miyeon stopped herself short. She so didn’t care about the disruption to nature or whatever. The Pines were wicked dangerous and if people wanted to make money off of dumb tourists, whatever, get that coin. But her eyes lit up when she saw the potential in all of this. The potential for a story. “I don’t know if that’s the worst part about it.” Her voice shifted along with her stance, growing more confident and defiant. “The worst part is all that destruction, you know? And tearing down trees and stuff.” She wasn’t the most ecologically concerned person so she hoped she was on the right track. “You’re right. People should go ape-shit.” Not that she planned to do that at all but she would be there with her phone ready to get the story. “You should stage a demonstration. Like start a protest or something. Try and force them to stop what they’re doing. Use your first amendment rights. Put it in action. Take down the man!” She grew more and more animated with each suggestion up until the point that she threw both of her hands balled up into fists up into the air.
Okay maybe that was a little too far, even for her. She put her hands back down and brushed her pants down, just to give her something to do with her hands. “I mean only if you want. I have to be impartial and stuff since I’m the media and all. But you can always call in or purchase an ad spot and I can spread the word on the show.”
As the girl spoke, Juno listened intently. Her eyebrows furrowed. “A private company?” It wouldn’t be that hard to figure out which one. People often wanted to explain their success to those in similar circles. She still had a few binds on those who’d done her a service, but hadn’t quite deserved water rushing through their lungs. Maybe she would need to cash in a few favors. The construction company’s name had been posted in various different places around town. “I’m familiar. They wear hideous shirts.” Because the shirts were hideous.
Juno watched in real time as the girl’s expression changed. Shifted into some kind of knowing. She wanted to know what it was, so she kept quiet. As the other spoke about the trees being torn down, Juno arched a brow. So this girl wanted her to stage a protest? It wasn’t her style. She worked better alone, mostly because the kinds of people who also wanted to save the environment weren’t keen on murder being the answer. Besides, it wasn’t like she could show her face to a newspaper. Now the girl was talking about first amendment rights. “I don’t believe in your government. That’s arbitrary to me.” She crossed her arms over her chest, gaze falling over the girl in front of her.
“I”m not going to buy anything. And I don’t care if you run more media on it. I got what I needed. Now I know where to look.” It was lost on Juno why the girl had suddenly gotten so interested. Whether it was a con she was trying to pull or she was being genuine, the nymph decided she didn’t care. She had gotten what she needed. It was concern that often won others over, and it seemed that she was trying to do the same. “I’d recommend that if you care about the trees, you do something about it as well. But perhaps you should stick to…” Her gaze wandered the room, “what you’re familiar with.”
Miyeon leaned forward, her eyes wide and blinking rapidly. Did she just say what the kitsune thought she just said? “Uh what do you mean by my government?” she asked. She couldn’t help herself. “Are you, like, from another country? Or…” Miyeon looked around and wasn’t finding any answers just hopping out at her, shockingly enough. This was so weird. She thought the government wasn’t hers and was arbitrary? Was she some kind of anarchist? Or… No way. Supernaturals couldn’t like have their own government, right? Not that her parents would have told her one way or the other. Maybe her brothers would indulge her questions. Later, obviously.
Yup, alright this chick was a lot and Miyeon wasn’t sure she wanted to deal with all of this. “That’s a shame. It could have really helped but you’re right. I should just stay in my lane. And you can go out and wave your anarchy flag or whatever it is you plan on doing.” Her smile was sweet despite the undercurrents of snark lacing her words. She turned and started to walk back to the front of the store, sighing a bit dramatically as the girl followed. “You know, it could have been a good story. It might have actually helped you. And others. But if you want to do things all by yourself, I guess that’s just how it’s going to be. Good luck taking down the man single-handedly, though.” Miyeon knew she shouldn’t hope for a disaster but part of her definitely hoped something newsworthy was going to come out of all this. She could use the headline for one of her segments at the very least.
She really needed to watch what she said. Juno cleared her throat, clasping her hands together in front of her. “I’m originally from Jeju-do.” Not a lie, not necessarily. The sick, twisted feeling that gathered in the pit of her stomach was absent. That was good. She thought herself above those around her, especially humans, but the last thing she needed was for somebody to look into her. Maybe it had been a mistake, coming to a radio show host. What if the girl decided to blab about what she’d been confronted by today? “So your government doesn’t serve me.” Not that it ever would; humans liked to stick their heads in the sand when it came to anything different. How foul.
The girl ahead of her replied, sickly sweet, and Juno felt a bout of annoyance flair. At least she’d gotten the information she needed. “Waving a flag is a fool’s goal, that wouldn’t do anything for the situation.” It was slightly lost on her what she had actually meant. Whatever, it didn’t matter. The radio show host retreated towards the front of the shop and Juno followed after her. Not so much to continue talking, but to get out of the shop and return to her priorities. “I don’t need you to wish me luck.” Because really, she didn’t. She’d need to be careful about how she approached things now that she knew somebody was aware what she was looking into. Or maybe a promise bind would be enough to keep the topic behind closed doors. “I’ve got enough luck on my side. Just promise me that you won’t tell anyone that I came looking for this information? How am I supposed to get anything done if somebody starts to talk?” She frowned, dramatizing her expression for the sake of the girl ahead of her, almost mimicking the way she’d done so earlier. Even if it was a sarcastic agreement, Juno could hold onto it.
Miyeon nodded, crossing her arms in front of her chest. “Gotcha. That makes sense.” Only she didn’t totally believe that. She kept her suspicion off of her face, but it was there just beneath the surface. Now that she thought about it, that sort of thing totally sounded like something her parents or brothers would have said. Only less intense. They followed the law for the most part, especially with Miyeon around, but she was totally aware that being centuries old made that sort of thing matter a whole lot less. So all of that made her wonder if maybe this lady was more like her than not. “My family is from outside of Gwangju so not too far away. I’ve never visited Jeju-do, though,” she replied.
She sure was interesting, though. Miyeon had honestly sort of expected her to storm off without another word but instead, she was trying to strike a deal. Granted, that wasn’t anything new for her. She was used to people getting a little shifty or weird when they remembered that she was part of the press and had a platform. “I can’t promise that,” she said as she started to carry on with her day like she hadn’t been interrupted. “Plus, I don’t even know your name so I can’t exactly tell them who came here asking questions. Unless of course, you want to introduce yourself.” She shrugged. “But that’s cool if you don’t want to. In which case, have a nice day!” Instead of introducing herself like Miyeon had hoped, the girl took it literally and just walked out of the store. Well, one less thing for her to worry about she supposed.

I know. But it is also putting doubts in my head. What if whoever comes in is like...lets have a change in the team. New captain. I mean, I have done that for so long that I know it would hurt if that was taken away from me. It might not happen but I can't help but think it. As for him, oh, I know he will. Yes, I know what you mean about that feeling.
Hey hopefully that just means you guys can have someone with a new perspective, and hopefully he will find something new to do as well, that's good just focus on the now, thank you always a pretty good feeling to know that people have enjoyed the work.

I've discovered this two weeks ago and I've been listening to it regularly
youtube
It's an absolute BANGER.
However, like any songs that gets stuck in my head, I can't help but try to sing it in French (French is my mother tongue)
And now that means I've been trying to translate this song on and off for the past two weeks And god DAMN it is hard
Do you know how impossibly hard it is to translate lyrics such as:
In hubris, I had wished to be Sole ruler of the galaxy I thought I'd make them bow to me Now I bow to the crown
While maintaining the number of syllables of each verses, having coherent rhyming scheme, and keeping to a maximum degree the same meaning as the original??
Yeah I didn't really realise before I started it
But now I'm invested, and I plan on finishing it
#sometimes I have a stroke of genius and manage to translate a verse#but most of the time I try in vain to find something#I have like 22 different translated versions of “If I make it out I want you to know: I am so very sorry”#Words are hard#but I love this song so much#I hope I can manage to finish it!!!#juno songs#magolor#kirby#crowned#c-r-o-w-n-e-d#princepinktalk#Youtube

At what point do you think Juno and Nureyev had their first kiss again at the Carte Blanche? Personally I don’t think it was the same night as their talk in Man in Glass, since I think Peter would need at least a few days. Did they dance around it, did they kiss quietly after a long talk in soft voices, or throw themselves at each other after a heist? I need your thoughts

Do you see any you like?
I'll call you rock from now on. If this displeases you, you can tell me a different name. More than that, but it seems you care for this person enough to trade with me, and I appreciate loyalty, even after a kneecap busting. Good luck to him and his fragile knees.
