For a school assignment, I'm assembling an anthology around the theme of queer divinity and desire, but I'm having a hard time finding a fitting essay/article (no access to real academic catalogues :/ ), do you know of any essays around this theme?
below are essays, and then books, on queer theory (in which 'queer' has a different connotation than in regular speech) in the hebrew bible/ancient near east. if there is a particular prophet you want more of, or a particular topic (ištar, or penetration, or appetites), or if you want a pdf of anything, please let me know.

𝐒𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆: any multi-level residential building downtown, morning 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐒: open to anyone, capped at (2/3)
Alexa Haverty, property manager. (854) 525-6613. Fifth floor, Apartment C. Parking on street. Monday, 9:30am—Meredith skimmed over the hastily scrawled notes she'd taken the evening before on the back of a gas station receipt, settling her nerves with the repetition of now very familiar information.
She knew who she was seeing. Where she was meeting them. Where to leave her car, what time to be there, how to contact them if she got lost... It was fine. She was fine. Maybe a little bit off her rocker, what with the desperate need to know and control every single thing, but she would see the apartment, decide whether or not she'd apply, and it would be fine.
At least, that was the thought she held onto, tooth and nail, until the elevator came to a whining, jarring, full fucking stop. Eyes wide and flying off the slip in her hand, Mere glanced at the numbers 2 and 3 illuminated on the panel. That's—What? No. A moment later her gaze switched to the only other person taking the lift.
"Is this—This isn't normal here, is it?" Was this a freak malfunction, probably another little gift from God to push her that much closer to the edge, or was this something that happened once, twice a week? Is that why the rent was so underpriced compared to the rest of the market? Because every day was a gamble between making it home before the ice cream melts or entrapment?
"It'll start back up in a second or two. Right?"

Birds of a Feather - If Tomorrow Never Comes
(Sunrise)
Meredith VO: A couple hundred years ago, Benjamin Franklin shared with the world the secret of his success. "Never leave that till tomorrow," he said, "which you can do today."
***
(Meredith lying in bed, staring at the ceiling. It is storming outside and her alarm starts buzzing.)
Meredith VO: This is the man who discovered electricity. You'd think more of us would listen to what he had to say.
***
(George walking through the hall towards Meredith's room with two cups of coffee. Izzie comes out into the hall. George spills the coffee on himself.)
Meredith VO: I don't know why we put things off, but if I had to guess, I'd say it has a lot to do with fear. Fear of failure, fear of pain, fear of rejection.
Izzie: Wouldn't it be easier to just ask her out?
(George walks away and Meredith hits snooze again.)
George: She's gonna be late.
Izzie: Maybe not.
George: We should wait for her.
Izzie: Definitely not. I'm not her mother, and you are not her boyfriend. Not yet, anyway.
George: Stop, ok? I told you I'm not interested.
Izzie: Life is short, George. Do you really want to die before you ever ask her out?
George: I do not want to ask her out.
Izzie: Do you really want to die a liar?
George: I'm not…I'm not dying.
***
(Seattle scenes)
Meredith VO: Sometimes, the fear is just of making a decision.
***
(SGH parking lot, Meredith is rushing)
Meredith VO: Because, what if you're wrong? What if you're making a mistake you can't undo?
(Derek arrives and parks next to Meredith)
Meredith: Crap.
Derek: Crap?
Meredith: Hi. I'm late.
Derek: You're avoiding me.
Meredith: Yes, but also late.
Derek: Ok, are we going to talk about this?
Meredith: No.
Derek: About us and Bailey and what she saw?
Meredith: I don't need to talk about it. I experienced it, naked.
Derek: This is getting complicated.
Meredith: Complicated for me. I'm the intern sleeping with the attending. Bailey isn't speaking to me anymore.
Derek: Not that that's a bad thing. If I was a better guy, I'd walk away.
Meredith: Yes, you would.
Derek: Do you want me to be a better guy?
Meredith: Yes.
(They enter hospital. He pushes elevator button.)
Meredith: No. Crap. I'm late.
(Meredith walks away.)
Derek: Take your time. Think about it.
***
(Cristina putting pants on. Her and Burke obviously just finished having sex in a lab room.)
Cristina: That was definitely worth being late.
Burke: (Sighs) Thanks. Is this a…? Should we talk about this?
Cristina: Yeah, definitely.
(Cristina leaves then enters the locker rooms. Meredith is inside.)
Meredith: You're late.
Cristina: So are you.
Meredith: I know, and I can't afford to piss off Bailey any more. Do you think she told anyone?
Cristina: About you and McDreamy?
Meredith: Yeah.
Cristina: No, he's her boss too.
Meredith: If they find out, what can they…? Can they kick me out, or…?
Cristina: No… Not officially. You'll just get edged out, blacklisted, banned from his surgeries, passed over for chief resident. (Sighs) It'll be humiliating, but you'll live.
Meredith: I have to end it. I definitely have to end it. I have to end it, right?
Cristina: Meredith, shut up.
Meredith: What?
(Meredith and Cristina are rushing upstairs and through hallway.)
Meredith: Did you seriously just tell me to shut up?
Cristina: Oh, please. You got a hot doctor who like to make you open up, and say "ahh." It's the American dream, stop whining about it.
Meredith: No. No good can come from sleeping with your boss.
Bailey: Cristina, you're late.
Cristina: So is Meredith.
Meredith VO: Whatever it is we're afraid of, one thing holds true. That, by the time the pain of not doing a thing gets worse than the fear of doing it, it can feel like we're carrying around a giant tumor.
Bailey: When we walk in this door, you will maintain decorum. You will not laugh, vomit, or drop you jaw. Are we understood?
***
(All open door and enter room 2111)
Izzie: Why would we laugh?
Connie: Oh, just you wait.
Bailey: Good morning, Miss Connors.
Miss Connors: Good Morning.
(Woman is lying in bed with an extremely large tumor.)
George: What is it?
Cristina: Tumor.
Meredith VO: And you thought I was speaking metaphorically.
***
(Seattle Scenes)
***
(Annie Connor's room)
Alex: Good morning, Annie. How are you? This is Dr. Bailey and these are my fellow interns.
Bailey: Dr. Karev, we refer to patients as "mister"…
Annie: I told him and Dr. Sloan to call me "Annie." "Miss Connors" makes me feel old and fat, which I am, but why feel that way?
(Burke enters)
Burke: Good morning.
Connie: Annie, this is Dr. Burke (Whispers) Awesome surgeon.
Bailey: Dr. Sloan.
Connie: Annie Connors is a 43-year-old woman who presented last night with progressive shortness of breath for the past three months. Found to have a very large tumor of unknown origin pressed against her diaphragm. Stable vital signs. Scheduled for CT this morning, sir.
Burke: Thank you, Dr. Sloan. (To Annie) Are you at all claustrophobic?
Annie: I've been housebound for the last year. How claustrophobic could I be?
Burke: All right then. Dr. Stevens is going to take you up for a CT. It'll give us a better look at the tumor, and we'll know how to proceed.
Annie: Could someone tell my mom? She'll worry if she gets back and I'm not here.
Burke: Yeah, of course. Of course.
Annie: And would it be possible for Alex and Connie to take me instead? I mean, he…He's just so fun to look at and she's such a sweetheart.
Alex: (Laughing) Annie.
Burke: Sure. Sure, Ms. Connors. Excuse me.
***
(Leave Ms. Connor's room)
Izzie: How much do you think it weighs?
George: 60 pounds.
Izzie: More. She's carrying a whole extra person.
Cristina: This one's going in the books. I've got to get in.
Izzie: I almost did. Have you ever seen Alex like that? He actually seemed sincere.
Meredith: "Seemed" being the operative word.
Alex: He and Connie were on call last night when she came in. I am never leaving this place again.
Bailey: Let's move, people. Ms. Connor's surgery, should we choose to proceed, will take most, if not all, of the surgeons off the floor, which means you people will have to work extra hard not to kill anyone, 'cause we won't be there to fix your mistakes.
Cristina: I really want in on this.
Burke: I thought we weren't talking.
Cristina: I'm not talking. I'm just saying.
Burke: Find her mother, get a family history, and I'll tell Bailey.
***
(Another room)
Izzie: Mr. Harper had a coronary bypass yesterday. His blood pressure, currently 100/65. It was running low overnight down to 70/30, but responded to medication. Postoperative labs show a crit of 30 and normal coagulation. Chest-tube output has halted over the last two hours.
Bailey: What's you plan?
Izzie: Chest x-ray and check the tube for possible occlusion.
Bailey: Good. (To wife) He's doing fine.
Mrs. Harper: Thank you.
***
(Walking down stairs in SGH)
George: I know you think I like Meredith but I don't like Meredith.
Izzie: What?
George: No. I like Meredith. Obviously, I like Meredith. I just…I don't have a thing for her.
Izzie: Ok.
George: It's just this morning…I know you were probably just teasing, But I don't want you to say anything like that to her. Because you know, we live together, and that'd be awkward.
Izzie: George, stop talking.
George: Ok, then.
***
(Hospital room where a man is trying to walk but is having difficulty.)
Bailey: Morning.
Derek: Mr. Levangie, this is Dr. Bailey and her fine staff of surgical interns.
(Derek, Meredith, and Bailey all exchange glances.)
Mr. Levangie: Welcome to hell, kids.
Bailey: Who's presenting?
George: Edward Levangie is a 63-year-old man admitted for pain management for Dyskinesia. He's been stable since last night, and responding to the bolus injections.
Bailey: Izzie, possible treatments?
Izzie: For Parkinson's disease? Um, deep brain stimulation has shown…
Derek: Not for Parkinson's, for spinal pain.
Izzie: Oh, um…
Meredith: Intraspinal catheter. That way, he can have constant pain medication.
Derek: Excellent. This is Dr. Grey. She's gonna prep you for the procedure and assist.
Derek: (Pager beeps) Excuse me.
Bailey: You make yourselves busy, I'll catch up with you.
***
(Bailey follows Derek out. They are in elevator alone.)
Derek: Miranda.
Bailey: Excuse me?
Derek: Well, that's your name, right? It's on your jacket. (She looks smug) All right, fine. I'll just call you Bailey then.
Bailey: You think you're charming in that talented, neurotic, overly moussed hair sort of way, good for you. But if you think I'm going to stand back and watch while you favor her…
Derek: I don't favor her. She's good.
Bailey: I'm sure she is. But I don't also see you favoring Connie Sloan, and that girl is your goddaughter.
(Elevator opens and Bailey gets out)
Derek: You know, can I point out that, technically, I'm your boss?
Bailey: You don't scare me. Look, I'm not going to advertise your extracurricular activities with my intern. However, the next time I see you favoring Meredith Grey in any way, I'll make sure she doesn't see the inside of on OR for a month. Just for the sake of balance.
(Bailey walks away and elevator closes with Derek inside.)
***
(Alex and Connie are getting Annie ready for her CT.)
CT Tech: We're all set, doc.
Alex: Ok. (To Annie) There's going to be a microphone in there for you in case you get scared or you want to get out, but, um you know, try not to do that, because then we're going to have to start all over again.
Annie: I'm fine. I'll be fine.
Connie: We know you're going to be fine, because we're going to be right over there behind that glass, waiting for you. All right?
Annie: Ok.
Alex: You ready? Are you really ready? Let's do this. (Pushes button) See ya.
***
(Alex and Connie goes into the operator room, Alex's pager makes a noise, he slaps it.)
Alex: Oh, hey, man, you got an extra battery?
Connie: You haven't changed it yet?
CT Tech: Unbelievable.
Alex: Oh, I know, right.
CT Tech: I've never seen anything like this. God.
Alex: Well, what I don't understand…is how a person lets it get like that. (Annie can hear Alex speaking) I mean, man, that is a whole lot of nasty.
CT Tech: Maybe she's afraid of doctors. Poor thing.
Alex: Poor thing? Please. If you're afraid of doctors, you take a pill. She's just sick, like, warped, you know? Seriously, I don't know how she lives with herself.
Connie: You are unbelievable, Alexander. (The CT Tech and Alex turn to her confused) Are you a really this much of an ass? (Alex goes to answer but Connie stops him) That wasn't a question for you to answer! That woman in there is scared. She doesn't know what's going on with her body. (She gets herself worked up a bit) Yes, I agree that she should've come in sooner, but as a child of abusive mother and many step-fathers, I can understand why she didn't. (She sighs) The point is... We don't get to judge our patients like that. I will be speaking with Bailey, Burke, and because you want to go into plastics, my father.
Alex: What is Mark Sloan going to do to me?
Connie: (She smirks) Not teach you.
***
(Cristina talking to Mrs. Connors in the hospital lobby.)
Mrs. Connors: Well, at first, we thought she was just putting on weight. When we realized what was happening, I tried to get her to go to the doctor, but she was scared. And, the bigger it got, the less she wanted to go. And she never really felt all that sick until last night. She couldn't breathe.
Cristina: Because the tumor was crushing her lungs.
Mrs. Connors: Yes, well, I called 911. It just seemed like the right thing to do.
Cristina: You know, the right thing to do would have been to call a year ago. Thank you.
***
(Mr. Levangie's room)
Meredith: Ok, Mr. Levangie. We're going to get you more comfortable, ok? I'm going to go downstairs and I'll be back up shortly.
Mr. Levangie: Ok
Meredith: Ok.
(Meredith leaves; daughter follows her into the hall)
Ms. Levangie: Excuse me. I'm sorry, doctor…
Meredith: Grey.
Ms. Levangie: My dad seems to like you. He's always liked skinny blondes. Is that rude? I'm sorry. I'm so tired.
Meredith: Is there something…?
Ms. Levangie: I was wondering if you would talk to him.
Meredith: About?
Ms. Levangie: Brain surgery. The doctor mentioned it, and I've read about it online. If it worked, it could help with most of his symptoms, not just his pain.
Meredith: Is he a candidate? I don't…
Ms. Levangie: He is, but he's afraid of it. Surgery on his back, he can understand, but his brain…And there are risks. But his quality of life…
Meredith: There isn't any.
Ms. Levangie: And, it keeps getting worse. I'm getting married next month. I already lost my mom. And I want him to walk…I want him with me. Maybe that's selfish, but…you don't know what it's like having a parent…Watching him…
Meredith: I do. I do know what it's like. I'll see what I can do.
Ms. Levangie: Thanks
Meredith: You're welcome.
Ms. Levangie: Thank you.
(Meredith walks away.)
***
(Bailey, Derek, and Burke are examining x-rays from Annie Connors.)
Burke: The right hemidiaphragm is so high that it's completely displacing her lung tissue.
Derek: It's infiltrated her spinal canal in three places. We should start there. It's going to take 3 or 4 hours to get around those nerves.
Burke: I'd prefer to start in front, and then flip her. You never know what kind of vessels are involved, how intertwined they are. I'm going to need a good head start.
Derek: I should really go with the spine fresh, if I miss a step, she's paralyzed.
Burke: If I don't relieve the pressure on her lungs, she'll be dead. So, she won't mind if she can't walk.
Bailey: Do you think she really wants to live? Come on. She's been housebound. She's been living under this thing, just watching it grow for how long? She doesn't seem stupid. Doesn't even seem all that scared. Why would anyone wait this long unless they wanted to die?
Derek: People do things every day that they know could k*ll them. Doesn't mean they want to die.
Bailey: What are her chances of surviving the surgery?
Burke: Slightly better than if we do nothing.
Bailey: So is it worth it? (Burke looks at her, Derek sighs) Hey, come on. You were already thinking it, I'm just saying.
Burke: She's 43. It's worth a try.
(Burke leaves)
Derek: Ha! Morning.
***
(Derek and Bailey leave, Meredith is waiting in the hall.)
Meredith: Dr. Shepherd. Mr. Levangie, the Parkinson's patient, is he a good candidate for DBS?
Derek: Yes, but he's not interested.
Meredith: Ok, but I think it's worth talking to him again, pushing him.
Derek: We're talking about a brain surgery that is performed while the patient is wide awake, a risk of paralysis, a risk of death. And, the patient doesn't want it. It is not my job to push him into anything and it's definitely not yours.
Meredith: Ok.
Derek: Since you clearly uncomfortable with my decision in this case, it's probably best you don't scrub in.
Meredith: But…
Derek: It's a minor procedure. You won't be missed.
(Meredith walks away)
Derek: (To Bailey) You know, they call you the nazi.
Bailey: So I've heard.
(Derek and Bailey walk away in opposite directions.)
***
(Annie Connors room, Burke, Connie, and Alex are there. Mrs. Connors is making the bed. )
Burke: I won't lie to you. The surgery is going to be long and difficult, but we have an extremely capable surgical team, and I can…
Annie: Am I going to die?
Burke: There's always that risk but if we don't do the surgery…
Annie: I'll definitely die.
Burke: Yes.
Annie: Soon?
Burke: Yes.
Annie: Mom, the room's clean.
Mrs. Connors: Ok, honey, ok.
Annie: Mom!
Mrs. Connors: She'll have the surgery.
Annie: Mom!
Mrs. Connors: No. No, Annie. She will have the surgery.
Annie: I guess I'll have the surgery.
Burke: I think that is a very wise decision.
Annie: On one condition. I don't want him there. (Points at Alex)
Alex: I'm sorry, Annie. Did I upset you in some way?
Annie: If he's in the surgery, I'm not having it. (Pause while Burke, Connie, and Alex look at her and each other) That's how I live with myself.
Burke: Ok, Miss Connors. (Turns to leave) Dr. Karev, Dr. Sloan.
(Annie and her mom hold hands)
***
(Burke, Connie, and Karev walk through hallway)
Burke: What the hell did you do?
Alex: (Looks at Connie) Did you tell on me?
Connie: Not yet. Now answer Dr. Burke. (Alex doesn't say anything.) Tell him or I will, Alexander.
Alex: Nothing. I-I don't know. Man. The mic must have been on. I was talking to the tech guy…
Burke: If anything goes wrong, anything, you are 60 percent more likely to be sued if you've offended the patient. 60%.
Alex: I never would have said that stuff. The mike shouldn't have been on. I didn't realize she could hear me.
Burke: Well, now you won't realize you chance to scrub in. You're banned from the OR. Mine or anyone else's. All week.
(Cristina walks up)
Cristina: I got the history on the tumor. It's been growing for a year and a half. A year and a half and it's the first time she's even had it looked at. It's like she's fatally lazy.
(Burke walks away, shaking his head)
Alex: Why doesn't she get banned?
***
(Burke grabs George who is walking by)
Burke: Go help Connie prep Annie Connors for surgery. You're scrubbing in with Cristina and Connie.
George: Really? I mean, thank you. Ok.
***
(George is in Annie Connor's room with Connie, prepping her for surgery)
George: We just need to recheck your labs and get an EKG, so I just need to take a little blood. Dr. Burke is great, and Dr. Bailey. I know you're probably scared.
Annie: That's ok, kitten. You can just do your job. You don't have to talk to the fat, nasty tumor lady. I mean, I let it get this bad. How much sympathy do I deserve?
George: Why did you let it get this bad?
Annie: You're the second person since I got here to ask me that.
George: Who was first?
(Connie walks over)
Connie: I was, wasn't I?
(Annie nods)
George: Well, I guess it's just like the elephant in the room.
Annie: Elephant?
George: I mean…
Annie: It's more like a giant sow, don't you think? (They smile at each other) Every time I went to the hospital, someone died. All four of my grandparents, then my dad. My best friend's mom, my baby sister. They all went in, never came out. So I put it off.
George: You know, you're not the only one to put things off. I mean I never do anything till the last possible minute.
Annie: Like what?
George: Well…I've had this thing for my roommate since, like, day one, and I just…I can't tell her. She probably wouldn't go out with me, anyway, but…How do I know that for sure, if I don't ever ask?
Annie: Seriously? You're equating your pathetic love life with my record-breaking tumor? Seriously?
(Connie smiles)
Connie: She's right, Georgie. You equating a tumor to your sad, sad, pathetic love life is really pathetic.
Annie: I want to thank you for standing for me, Connie.
Connie: Please, it was my pleasure. That guy is mostly an ass. (George and Annie look at her, Mark is standing in doorway behind them smiling.) But you didn't hear it from me.
***
(Outdoor lunch tables)
Meredith: It's just that he blatantly favors me in front of her and then blatantly dismisses me.
Cristina: How do you know he was favoring you? Look, you've got a brain. You got into this program. Just because Shepherd wants to munch your cookies doesn't mean you didn't deserve what you worked for.
Meredith: But he's making me look bad. I have to end it.
Cristina: Right.
Meredith: It's over.
Connie: Uh, huh.
Alex: Is it true you get to scrub in on that tumor?
Cristina: Don't sit here.
Izzie: You get to scrub in? How psyched are you?
Cristina: On a scale of one to ecstatic, ecstatic.
Alex: It's unbelievable. You know what I think? I think Burke wants to get into your scrubs.
Cristina: Why are you sitting here?
Alex: He kicked me off that surgery for the same crap you pull every day.
Connie: That's your own fault Alexander.
Cristina: You know what. If I stuck this fork into his thigh, would I get in trouble?
Meredith: Not if you make it look like an accident.
George: Hey!
Izzie: Hi.
Alex: Thank God, man. I'm drowning in estrogen here.
George: (To Meredith) You look…is everything ok?
Meredith: Shepherd's a jackass.
Izzie: Really? I think he's kind of great.
Cristina: He reamed her out in front of Bailey.
Izzie: Why?
Meredith: Cause he's a jackass.
George: Oh. (Throws his tray) Well, bad days are…bad. Maybe tonight, uh, if, you know, if you drink alcohol, I mean, we could all of us, I mean, go out and drink alcohol…because of the bad day.
Meredith: (Pager beeps) I got to go.
Alex: Dude.
George: Shut up.
(Cristina, Connie, and Alex laugh at George, Izzie pats his shoulder)
***
(Mr. Levangie's room)
Derek: How's your back?
Mr. Levangie: Still good.
Derek: Good. (To daughter) How are you? Good? (To Mr. Levangie) Can you lean forward for me? I just want to check something. Does that feel ok?
Mr. Levangie: Yeah.
Derek: Right here?
(Meredith enters)
Meredith: Did you page?
Derek: Mr. Levangie, have you given any more thought about the other surgical options we discussed this morning?
Mr. Levangie: What? Why would I? I already told you no. I'm letting you cut into my back, but that's not enough for you. All you guys ever want to do is cut.
Ms. Levangie: Dad, just listen to what he has to say.
Mr. Levangie: I already listened.
Derek: Sir, there's a very small window of opportunity here. You know, once the Parkinson's progresses to a point of dementia, there's, you know, you're no longer a candidate for DBS.
Mr. Levangie: and when I'm no longer a candidate, is that when you people will leave me the hell alone! What? Do I have to start drooling, and forget my name to get a little peace and quiet?
Derek: All right. I'll check back with you later. Try to get some rest.
(Derek walks away, Meredith lingers in the hall.)
Ms. Levangie: Dad, you're being unreasonable. The doctors are only trying to help you.
Mr. Levangie: It's my damn life, and it's my damn brain. You want me to let them cut up my brain while I'm lying her awake, for what?
Ms. Levangie: Dad!
Mr. Levangie: I'll be at your wedding. I will sit in the back. Your uncle will walk you down the aisle. I know it's not perfect, but it's life. Life is messy sometimes.
Ms. Levangie: I know that.
(Daughter leaves)
Mr. Levangie: (To Meredith) If she knows, then what the hell are we still talking for, huh? Why in hell can't she drop it?
Meredith: It is your life. But it's her life too. And you have a chance to get better here. And all she's asking you to do is try.
(Meredith leaves)
***
(Burke, George, Connie, and Cristina are scrubbing in for Annie Connors' surgery.)
Cristina: If they pull this off, I'm totally calling Oprah.
(Bailey enters)
Bailey: You three been working out?
George: Um, sometime I jog, and I try to take the stairs whenever possible.
(Derek enters)
Connie: Why?
Bailey: See that large pile of tumor? You're going to be retracting it for the next 14 hours, so I'm just saying I hope you have strong backs.
(Meredith enters)
Meredith: Dr. Shepherd.
Derek: Yes?
Meredith: Mr. Levangie has agreed to DBS. If we do it today. If he leaves, he won't come back.
Burke: Don't worry, Dr. Shepherd. It'll take hours before we get around to the spine. I'll page you.
Derek: All right, then. (Leaving) Let's do it.
(Meredith and Bailey are alone in the scrub room)
Meredith: Dr. Bailey. I didn't know…that he was my boss, when I met him. I didn't know.
Bailey: I don't care.
Meredith: Really? Oh, well, you sort of seemed to not be talking to me, so I …
Bailey: You see this, what's happening right here? This is the problem with you sleeping with my boss. Not whether or not you know him before, but how it affects my day. And me standing here talking to you about your sex life affects my day. And the longer this little fling goes on, the more favors you get over the others, who are fighting tooth and nail just to make it through this program without any assistance. When those people start finding out what's going on and they don't want to work with you and talk to you or look at you, and they start bitching and moaning at me, the more it affects my day. So, no, Dr. Grey, I don't care what you know, or when you know it. Are we understood?
Meredith: Yes.
Bailey: Good.
(Meredith leaves and Bailey continues scrubbing in)
***
(Seattle Scenes)
***
(Hallway of SGH)
Alex: This sucks.
Izzie: Yeah well, I'm not a real fan of yours, either.
Alex: Not you. This. Everyone is scrubbed in somewhere.
Izzie: Bright side, we have the run of the floor.
Alex: Great! Want to do it in the stairwell? I'm just saying you never know what could happen.
(Patient in bed in hallway barfs on Alex)
Alex: I'm changing.
Izzie: I'll page you if I need you.
Alex: You do that.
Izzie: (To patient) You are so my favorite person today.
***
(Annie's surgery)
Nurse: We need to hang another bag of O-neg.
Burke: Cauterizing the small bleeders to keep my visual field clean.
George: (To Cristina and Connie) God, is your back killing you?
Connie: George, shut up. We're in here.
***
(Izzie with Mrs. Harper in room)
Izzie: Mrs. Harper, let me show you these chest films. We were able to relieve the obstruction of his chest tube, so the buildup of fluid you see should resolve itself soon. (Mrs. Harper looks lost) Which translates as he should be home in no time.
Mrs. Harper: He was making waffles.
Izzie: I'm sorry?
Mrs. Harper: He was making waffles. He was missing batter, and…and then, he was on the floor.
Nurse: Izzie, we need a central line run in 204.
Izzie: Page Dr. Karev, will you?
Nurse: He's not answering.
Izzie: (To Mrs. Harper) I'm so sorry. I'll be back.
***
(Alex is in locker room, takes his shirt off, there is a woman there.)
Alex: Like what you see, right?
(She leaves quickly, his beeper says "change battery")
***
(Mr. Levangie's surgery)
Nurse: Neuro sponge
Derek: How you doing, Mr. Levangie?
Mr. Levangie: All right.
Nurse: Drill bit's charged.
Mr. Levangie: Where's blondie?
Meredith: I'm right here. Can't you see me?
Mr. Levangie: I'm shaky. I'm not blind. Anything goes wrong here, I'm blaming you.
Meredith: Ok, in that case, I'll stay where you can see me. Now we just have to drill a hole and try to find the spot that controls the motor function.
Mr. Levangie: You can't see my brain from there. Aren't you supposed to be learning something?
Meredith: I'm good, right here.
(She holds his hands)
Nurse: EEG waves look good.
Derek: Ok, Mr. Levangie. Just take a couple deep breaths. Focus on the pretty girl. Ok, this is going to sound really scary, but try and relax. You shouldn't feel a thing.
(Derek is drilling into his head)
***
(Izzie with patient)
Izzie: Any pain here? Here?
Patient: No.
Izzie: Ok. (Pager beeps)
Tyler: Dr. Stevens, I need you to check the x-ray in 2103. 2118 needs post-op notes, and Jane's wondering if you want her to start feeding 2112. I'm going on break.
Izzie: Ok, yeah, before you do that, could you page Dr. Karev again?
Tyler: I already paged him.
Izzie: Yeah, Again?
***
(Alex enters gallery of Annie's surgery)
Alex: Excuse me. How is it?
Doctor: Long and slow. I don't envy those three. They've been holding that thing for eight hours. Their arms have to be ready to fall off.
(Alex's pager's light is blinking)
***
(OR)
Burke: Look at the size of this artery.
Bailey: My God. It's as thick as a thumb. You ever seen a vessel this size?
Burke: No. This thing's just feeding on all her blood.
Bailey: We need more O-negative.
Nurse: I'll call the blood bank.
(George stretches and drops the tumor)
Burke: Damn it, O'Malley. Do you want me to kill this patient?
George: No, I …sorry.
Burke: I mean, is the art of retracting just too much for you?
George: No, I was, uh…um…I had an itch.
***
(Gallery)
Doctor: Way to go, George. Nicely done.
***
(Mr. Levangie's OR. Doctor is having Mr. Levangie mimic her.)
Doctor: Just keep trying, Mr. Levangie. Mimic my motions. You can do it.
Meredith: You're doing great, Mr. Levangie. Just a little longer.
Mr. Levangie: Oh, damn it!
Doctor: Take a breath and try again. One more time, Mr. Levangie.
Meredith: The probe is almost in. You'll know it when we find the right spot.
(Mr. Levangie stops shaking and mimics the doctor.)
Doctor: Well, how about that?
Derek: There it is.
Mr. Levangie: I'll be a son of a bitch.
***
(Outside the OR, pushing Mr. Levangie to his room)
Derek: Bailey was on the warpath. I was trying to protect you.
Meredith: You trying to protect me is why she's on the warpath. You can't do me favors. You can't ask me to scrub in when I haven't earned it.
Derek: Ok, ok.
Meredith: And you can't treat me like crap when I haven't earned that either.
Derek: Ok.
Meredith: I can take care of myself. I got myself into this mess, and I…
Derek: And you'll get yourself out?
Meredith: I don't… know that yet.
(Derek pager goes off, they arrive at the elevator)
Meredith: Don't let me keep you.
Derek: you did great work here today.
Meredith: Dr. Shepherd.
Derek: Yeah?
Meredith: Sorry I called you a jackass.
Derek: You didn't.
Meredith: I did. Twice.
Mr. Levangie: Tell you what, blondie. If you don't marry him, I will.
***
(Izzie walking down stairs and enters hallway. Her pager goes off again.)
***
(Mr. Harper's room)
Mrs. Harper: No, no, no, Jimmy! No, no, Jimmy, no!
Izzie: What we got?
Nurse: Pressure plummeted to 64/22, and he has runs of V-tach that aren't perfusing. CVP is sky-high.
Izzie: Give him dopamine, tin mikes.
Tyler: He's already maxed out. The resident was here an hour ago but I can't reach him now.
Izzie: Of course you can't.
Mrs. Harper: Do something! What's the matter with you?
Izzie: Get her out of here!
Mrs. Harper: No, no!
Nurse: Mrs. Harper, you have to get out of here.
Izzie: Does he have a myocardial ischemia?
Doctor: No, it's a clot. Big one.
Izzie: Page someone.
Doctor: It's tamponade. He'll be dead before they get here.
Nurse: You have to open him up, right here, right now.
Mrs. Harper: You said he was ok!
Izzie: Get out of here now!
Nurse: You have to cut.
Izzie: I can't. I've never seen it done. I could kill him.
Nurse: Do nothing, you'll kill him faster. What's your glove size?
Izzie: Six. Oh, God. Oh, God.
Nurse: Take a breath, Dr. Stevens. She has to move over there. Walter, move out of the way. (Izzie gets ready to cut Mr. Harper open) Cut the stitches and then the staples. Don't let them fall into the chest cavity.
Izzie: Wait. I've never cracked a chest before. Oh, God. Oh, God.
Nurse: No pulse. Wide complex rhythm.
Izzie: I can't get this clot out. I need more suction. I need more.
Nurse: He's bradying down. You have to get the clot out.
Izzie: I can't get it. Screw it. I'm using my hand.
(Izzie reaches into the chest cavity and pulls out the clot)
Nurse: Oh, God, look at the size of that clot.
Izzie: Anything?
Nurse: No. You have to massage the heart, doctor.
(Izzie starts massaging the heart)
Izzie: Come on. Come on. Come on, please. Come on, Mr. Harper.
Nurse: We have a pulse.
***
(Annie's surgery, Derek enters)
Derek: how's it going?
Burke: It's more intertwined than the studies made it look.
Bailey: Hang another bag, call the blood bank. We need more O-negative.
Burke: I'm down 10 units of blood and I haven't even flipped her yet.
Derek: Oh, wow. Look at that. Now how am I supposed to get around that artery? All right, then. Forceps.
***
(Meredith enters gallery)
Meredith: God, it's unbelievable.
Alex: Right.
Meredith: How did she live like that?
Alex: Watch what you say. You never know who's listening. (Laughs) Look at George. He looks like he's about to fall in.
Meredith: Are you really as shallow and callous as you seem?
Alex: Oh, you want to go out for a drink later and hear about my secret pain?
Meredith: Does that line ever work for you?
Alex: Sometimes.
Meredith: Oh. Must be because you look like that.
Alex: Like what? (Laughs) So is that a yes?
Meredith: No. I can't. I'm seeing someone.
Alex: Look, if you don't want to go out with me, just say so. No need to lie.
Meredith: Oh, ok. Well, I don't want to go out with you. But I think I really might be seeing someone.
***
(Izzie enters the OR)
Izzie: Mr. Harper, the post-op heart patient in 2114. I had to open his sternotomy bedside.
(Everyone turns to look at her with a look of awe.)
Burke: You what?
All: What?
***
(Gallery Alex gets up to leave.)
Izzie: He had cardiac tamponade. His chest films were clean this morning. It just… It happened fast. He was in PEA. There was no time.
Derek: (To Burke) Go ahead. I got it. We're ok here.
Burke: Ok.
Derek: I need some retraction. Pull back on the retractor.
***
(Izzie is in scrub room leaving, Alex walks in.)
Alex: (Yelling) You opened a heart bedside and you couldn't even page me? What needed all the glory for yourself, right?
Izzie: (Yelling) I paged you 50 times. Do you have any idea what I have been through?
(Alex looks at his pager)
Alex: Oh, man. The battery. I forgot to change it.
Izzie: You forgot? You forgot?!
(Izzie throws his pager on the floor, breaking it. She then starts jumping up and down on it.)
Izzie: You are hateful! You are a hateful, hateful, lazy, arrogant, hateful man! Hateful!
(Izzie leaves)
***
(The OR could overhear Izzie and Alex.)
Derek: Never a dull moment here at Seattle Grace.
(Blood vessel burst, squirting blood all over Derek and Bailey.)
Derek: Oh!
Bailey: Oh, my God.
Derek: Get right in there.
Bailey: She can't afford to lose this much blood. We need more blood.
Derek: Get me some suction here. I can't see what I'm doing. Clamp, clamp, clamp, please. Is there any blood in the rapid infuser?
Nurse: We're waiting on two units.
Derek: What do you mean, waiting?
Bailey: Well, we didn't anticipate this much blood loss.
Nurse: They're on their way.
Bailey: We prepped a double supply. We've used it all.
Derek: What did you cut?
Bailey: Nothing. It just blew. She came in with too much damage. The artery walls are too weak.
***
(Alex is watching from the scrub room)
Alex: Annie, come on.
Bailey: Ten units of O-negative.
Derek: I cannot see. Connie, give me your hand. Push right down here. Pull it towards you. Suction! Suction!
Nurse: The pressure's dropping.
Derek: She needs blood. Where the hell is the blood?!
(Alex runs out of scrub room)
Derek: Somebody grab that. Push it back, Connie. Come on. (Everyone is breathless) Oh, God. Just squeeze it off right there. Here we go.
***
(Alex running through hallway runs into a woman carrying blood)
Alex: Is that O-Negative for OR 1?
Nurse: Uh-huh, OR 1.
Alex: OR 1, right? I got it! I got it!
(Alex runs through the hall with the blood)
***
Derek: Some suction, please, in here, now. Come on. We're losing her now. Look at this. Look at his. Come on. (Starts CPR)
***
(Mrs. Connor's is waiting in the waiting room)
***
(Derek is still performing CPR)
Derek: Oh, come on! Come on! (More CPR) Come on! (Stops CPR) Time of death is 11:42.
***
(Alex runs in with the blood)
Alex: I got it.
Meredith VO: The early bird catches the worm.
***
(Burke is closing Mr. Harper)
Meredith VO: A stitch in time saves nine.
Burke: Messy.
Izzie: I'm sorry.
Burke: Don't be. You saved his life.
***
(Bailey, Connie, and George go to tell Mrs. Connors about Annie)
Meredith VO: He who hesitates is lost.
(Mrs. Connors covers her face, crying)
***
(Mr. Levangie and Meredith are walking through the hall towards his daughter.)
Meredith VO: We can't pretend we haven't been told. We've all heard the proverbs, heard the philosophers, heard our grandparents warning us about wasted time, heard the damn poets urging us to seize the day. Still, sometime we have to see for ourselves.
***
(Cristina is in on-call room stretching. Burke enters)
Burke: I'm not doing you any more favors. This was it.
Cristina: (Scoffing) I've been holding up 50 pounds of tumor for the past 12 hours. My back's going to need traction, and the patient died anyways. And you think you did me a favor?
Burke: Look, I'm just…What is this…that we're doing here? What is it?
Cristina: You need a definition? You really want to be that guy?
Meredith VO: We have to make our own mistakes.
Burke: Lock the door.
Meredith VO: We have to learn our own lessons.
***
(Alex and George walking through a hall)
George: Have you seen Meredith?
Alex: Save yourself the misery, man. She's off the market.
George: What? No, that's not… We're just friends.
Alex: Whatever.
George: But she's not. I mean, if she was seeing someone, I live with her, I would know it.
***
(George is home, carrying two beers to Meredith's room. He knocks only to find the door ajar and her not inside.)
***
(Mark is driving himself and Connie home. Connie is sleeping against the passenger window.)
Meredith VO: We have to sweep today's possibility under tomorrow's rug until we can't anymore, until we finally understand for ourselves what Benjamin Franklin meant. That knowing is better than wondering.
***
(Meredith is standing in the rain when Derek emerges from the hospital.)
Meredith VO: That waking is better than sleeping.
Meredith: I, um, know this place where there's an amazing view of sunrise over the ferryboats.
(She pulls a bottle of wine out of her bag)
Derek: I have a thing for ferryboats.
Meredith: I remember.
(He opens the car door for her; she leans across and opens his door.)
Meredith VO: And that even the biggest failure, even the worst, most intractable mistake beats the hell out of never trying.

Tell me what to listen to next!
I'm stealing an idea from someone else on here to help me catch up on a backlog of music I have lying around that I haven't yet listened to. Up above, you'll see 50 albums, 25 in each list. The lists are as follows:
List 1:
Adele - 30 Les Amazones d'Afrique - Amazones Power The Chills - Brave Words CMAT - Crazymad, For Me Courtney Love - America's Sweetheart Dusty Springfield - The Very Best Of Dusty Springfield FU-Schnickens - Nervous Breakdown Generation Bass Presents Transnational Dubstep [compilation] Gil Scott-Heron - It's Your World Girls Against Boys - House Of GvsB Kool AD - 63 Louis Armstrong - Ambassador Satch Mach-Hommy - Dollar Menu 4 Mase - Harlem World Meat Puppets - Huevos Meredith Monk - Dolmen Music Nirvana - From The Muddy Banks Of The Wishkah Pylon - Chomp Stevie Ray Vaughan - In Step Terry Allen - Bottom Of The World Thelonious Monk - The Complete London Collection Tyler Childers - Rustin' In The Rain UB40 - Labour Of Love The Velvet Underground - Another View Willowz - Talk In Circles
List 2:
Bell Orchestre - Recording A Tape The Colour Of The Light Carly Pearce - Hummingbird Clem Snide - End Of Love Earth, Wind & Fire - Open Our Eyes Elliott Murphy - Aquashow Gasolin' - Gasolin' Helen Reddy - Helen Reddy Kirby Heard - Mama's Biscuits Lifesavas - Spirit In Stone Lori McKenna - 1988 Marshal Crenshaw - #447 Muddy Waters - King Bee New Wave Dance Music From South Africa [compilation] NRBQ - NRBQ L'Orchestre National Mauritanien - Ahl Nana Randy Newman - Randy Newman Ray Wylie Hubbard - Co-Starring Too Ruby Braff And Ellis Larkins - Calling Berlin Vol. 1 Sacred Soul Of North Carolina [compilation] Skip James - Blues From The Delta Swamp Dogg - Gag A Maggot Tabu Ley Rochereau - Man From Kinshasa Unholy Modal Rounders - Unholier Than Thou: 7/7/77 Van Dyke Parks - Song Cycle Yo-Yo Ma - Classic Yo-Yo
You can help me out here by replying to this post picking one album from each of the lists, which I will then listen to at some point in...hopefully the next month? Maybe two? Sorry, my listening schedule for new stuff is slow recently because of work. But a few notes here:
a) First, obviously you must pick two albums (again, one from each list) and you can't pick something somebody else has already picked.
b) As I listen to these albums (I tend to go in alphabetical order on a running list I have), I will post short impressions of them here (I may or may not add a letter grade, we'll see how I'm feeling by the time I get around to it).
c) Pretty much all of these albums were reviewed (or at least recommended) in some way by the critic Robert Christgau, so part of my impressions will involve noting whether I agree or disagree with him on his assessment.
I'm honestly not sure if I have enough followers here for this to work, so it might get cross-posted to a Facebook group I'm in where people are more likely to respond. I'll reblog after a while with an update on what's chosen, and it will close after I get a lineup of about 10-20 albums (or after like a week or two, if no one's responding).
And yes, I am aware that these are eccentric lists.

Sustainability Governance: Workshop and Summer School
I am part of a NSF funded Centers for Research and Innovation in Science, the Environment and Society (CRISES) planning grant and we are planning for a Center on Sustainability and Governance in the Anthropocene (C-SAGA) that focuses on innovative interdisciplinary social science research that develops and assesses needed new forms of environmental governance. This will require innovations across knowledge systems, attention to coproduction of solutions with multiple stakeholders who are empowered to act, and advances in understanding desirable visions of the future and how to achieve them. We have a launch symposium on May 7 that will feature three speakers addressing how to manage major challenges like climate change, food security, and biodiversity loss in the face of accelerating human pressure, increasing complexity, and persistent inequality. The day-long event will feature talks by Dr. Jennifer Clapp, Canada Research Chair & Professor, School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability, University of Waterloo, Canada; Dr. Ratana Chuenpagdee, Professor, Department of Geography, Memorial University of Newfoundland; and Dr. Meredith Gore, Associate Professor, Department of Geographical Sciences, University of Maryland College Park. We would welcome attendance in person or online and ask people to register here by May 1 to attend https://lnkd.in/eyXW8-Hi We are also running an inaugural summer school for early career Ph.D. students working on governance and sustainability here at Rutgers August 20-23. The goal of the Summer School is to increase the capacity of early-stage researchers to learn more about this field and the need for interdisciplinary scholarship and collaboration. During the workshop, we will bring together scholars from a range of disciplines in a small group setting to learn, exchange ideas, and build partnerships. Training on essential skills will be offered on topics suited to the applicants, and may include working in collaborative governance, science communication, social science methods, and grant and publication guidance. Faculty from across Rutgers working in the sustainability governance area will opportunities for career advice, mentorship, and networking. At the end of the workshop, the relationships built with other students will provide mutual support for the future. Additional information can be found here: https://lnkd.in/e4qG6mN5 and applications are due May 15: https://lnkd.in/eRtGneVR

Inspector Warren Jacobi (Tyrees Allen) – Lindsay's loyal partner. He was up for the lieutenant position that went to Tom, but has not expressed much disappointment that he didn't get the job, seeming to prefer field work to the politics of the higher position. He also seems to prefer the finer things in life, having an affinity for wine, 30-year-old whiskey, and opera. He is thrice-divorced and has a child from one of those marriages.
Lieutenant Tom Hogan (Rob Estes) – Lindsay's ex-husband, who in the first episode was promoted to lieutenant and assigned as her boss. He is engaged in the pilot and has remarried by "To Drag and to Hold," but he still worries that Lindsay's obsession with her work will consume her. Tom was played by Christopher Wiehl in the unaired pilot.
Deputy District Attorney Denise Kwon (Linda Park) - Jill's immediate superior at the DA's office, she clashes with her over her "bleeding heart" style. She is also antagonistic towards Jill due to her past romantic history with Hanson North. When the show returned after the writers' strike, the first episode credits no longer showed her name. But by the second episode, she was back in the credits as a series regular.
Recurring cast[edit]
Luke Bowen (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) – Jill's ex-boyfriend. He is an ER doctor at the fictional Mission Cross North. Jill and Luke have recently broken up after he finds that she had slept with Hanson.
Hanson North (Kyle Secor) – Defense attorney who has a romantic history with Jill and is currently seeing her boss, Denise Kwon.
Ed Washburn (Jonathan Adams) – Claire's husband. Currently uses a wheelchair full-time after being shot while serving as a police officer.
Heather Hogan née Donnelly (Ever Carradine) – Tom's new wife. She is a kindergarten teacher who is eco-friendly, planning a green wedding.
Pete Raynor (Joel Gretsch) – Lindsay's love interest in season 1, who is in town for only two weeks.

Danielle Moné Truitt as Sergeant Ayanna Bell, squad supervisor of the OCCB task force and Stabler's current direct superior and partner.
Ainsley Seiger as Detective 2nd Grade Jet Slootmaekers, a former independent hacker who is recruited to the OCCB task force on Stabler's recommendation. She was requalified as an NYPD officer to work with the OCCB task force. In season 3 episode 16 ("Chinatown"), she is promoted from Detective 3rd Grade to Detective 2nd Grade.
Tamara Taylor as Prof. Angela Wheatley (seasons 1–2), a former math professor at Columbia University, ex-wife of Richard Wheatley, and a suspect in the hit ordered on Kathy Stabler. She committed suicide and presumably murdered Richard at the same time after discovering that Richard was responsible for her son Richie's murder.
Dylan McDermott as Richard Wheatley (seasons 1–2), son of notorious mobster Manfredi Sinatra, now a businessman and owner of an online pharmaceutical company who leads a second life as a crime boss, and was a suspect in the murder of Stabler's wife. He was presumed murdered by Angela after she discovered that Wheatley murdered their son Richie.
Nona Parker Johnson as Detective 3rd Grade Carmen "Nova" Riley (season 2, recurring season 2), an undercover narcotics detective working under Brewster's command to infiltrate the Marcy Killers. She retires from the NYPD and leaves New York after the murder of the gang's leader Preston Webb.
Brent Antonello as Detective 2nd Grade Jamie Whelan (season 3), a detective with the OCCB. In the season 3 finale, he is shot and paralyzed by Kyle Wilkie and later dies in the hospital.
Rick Gonzalez as Detective 2nd Grade Bobby Reyes (season 3–present), an undercover detective with the OCCB.
Chicago pd
Jason Beghe as Sergeant Henry "Hank" Voight, the enigmatic and often mercurial chief of the Chicago P.D.'s Intelligence Unit. Despite his brutal, tough exterior, he is loyal to the cops and detectives serving under him and highly "dedicated" to the victims of the crimes his unit investigates to the point of committing human rights violations, mainly torture, and not respecting the law. He is first introduced in Chicago Fire as a dirty cop who clashes with CFD Lieutenant Matthew Casey after Voight's son, Justin, causes an accident in which a teenager is paralyzed, and Casey, who was first on scene, had intended to testify that Justin was DUI. He is arrested by Det. Antonio Dawson for trying to have Casey silenced by force but is later released from prison and reinstated to the police force by Internal Affairs. As a result, many of Casey's colleagues dislike him, and Casey's superior Chief Boden has a love-hate working relationship with him. It is eventually revealed in the Chicago Fire episode "Let Her Go" that his dirty cop alter ego was part of an undercover operation to catch criminals and other dirty cops. Prior to taking command of Intelligence, Voight worked in the Gang Unit. His father Richard was a former CPD officer who was killed in the line of duty. Voight is a widower; his wife, Camille, died of cancer some years prior. His son, Justin, served in the Army and was killed in the last episode of season 3 while trying to help a friend. Voight took an interest in Erin Lindsay at 14 and raised her as his daughter.
Jon Seda as Senior Detective Antonio Dawson (seasons 1–6), an Intelligence Unit detective who previously arrested Voight for harassment and has since worked alongside him. Unlike Voight, he has limits on how far he will go to get criminals off the streets, as shown by the fact that he asks Halstead to stop Voight from killing anyone while on the hunt for Pulpo because he does not want it on his conscience. He and his ex-wife Laura have two children: Diego and Eva. He is the older brother of Chicago Fire character Gabriela "Gabby" Dawson. In season 4, he is offered a job at the State's Attorney's Office as Lead Investigator, which he accepts. After becoming disillusioned with the job, he returns to the unit in the first episode of season 5. In season 6, Antonio struggles with recovering from a shoulder injury and dependency on the oxycodone he is taking for the pain. After a dealer he owes kidnaps, beats, and rapes his daughter, Antonio, high on oxy, kills him in revenge. Though Voight and Ruzek manage to cover up the incident as self-defense, and Antonio successfully recovers in rehab, mayor-hopeful Superintendent Brian Kelton later gets the case reopened in order to take down the Intelligence Unit, and in the season finale, Antonio relapses after Ruzek is arrested after taking the blame for everything to protect him. In the season 7 premiere, it is revealed that Voight found Antonio and checked him into an off-the-books rehab clinic to get him clean again while also protecting his career. It was revealed several episodes later that Antonio resigned and moved to Puerto Rico to spend more time with his family.
Sophia Bush as Detective Erin Lindsay (seasons 1–4),[7] a tough Intelligence Unit detective and former CI whom Voight took under his wing when she was a juvenile delinquent. Because of this, she is closer to Voight than the other members of the unit. She has a half-brother, Teddy Courtney, who was taken by a pedophile ring at age thirteen and was found turning tricks in New York City 10 years later. She was in a relationship with her partner Jay Halstead from seasons 2 to 4. Near the end of the fourth season, Lindsay is accused of assault after she sticks her gun down a pedophile's throat in the interrogation room; facing possible dismissal from the police force, she accepts a job offer at the FBI in New York and leaves Chicago.
Jesse Lee Soffer as Senior Detective Jay Halstead (seasons 1–10), an Intelligence Unit detective who was Detective Lindsay's partner. A former Army Ranger, he is confident in his abilities and sometimes comes across as cocky. He also suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, shown progressively during Season 5, later seeking therapy for it. He is the older brother of Chicago Med character Dr. Will Halstead. He was in a relationship with his partner Erin Lindsay from season 2 until she transferred to the FBI in New York at the end of season 4. He later marries fellow detective Hailey Upton in season 9. Following Olinsky's death and Antonio's resignation, Halstead becomes Voight's right-hand. He later resigns from the force early in season 10 after becoming disillusioned with the gray area the Intelligence Unit has to work in, and returns to the Army in a new job hunting drug cartels in Bolivia.
Patrick John Flueger as Officer Adam Ruzek, a younger police officer recruited straight out of the academy by Olinsky to do undercover work. He is often portrayed as an overeager amateur who dives headfirst into a situation without thinking. His parents are separated, and he split time between his father, "Disco Bob" Ruzek (Jack Coleman), a longtime patrol officer with the 26th District who lives in Beverly, and his mother in Canaryville. He was engaged to fellow police officer Kim Burgess.
Marina Squerciati as Officer Kim Burgess, a former flight attendant turned uniformed patrol officer who was Atwater's partner. She was then partnered with Sean Roman before his departure. Burgess is shot in "Called in Dead" and spends the next episode recovering. She was engaged to Adam Ruzek; the relationship is later broken off because of commitment issues. She later develops feelings for Roman before he moves to San Diego. In season 4, she is offered a job in Intelligence, which she accepts.
LaRoyce Hawkins as Officer Kevin Atwater, a uniformed patrol officer who was Burgess' former partner until he was promoted to the Intelligence Unit. He is responsible for caring for his younger siblings, his brother, Jordan, and sister, Vanessa. After his brother testifies to a grand jury about a crime he witnessed, and Vanessa is threatened with rape for her brother being a snitch, he sends them to live with their aunt in Texas.
Archie Kao as Detective Sheldon Jin (season 1), a tech and surveillance expert. He was discovered to be a reluctant mole working for Internal Affairs sergeant Edwin Stillwell, who had leverage to make him cooperate. He is found murdered in the first-season finale episode, "A Beautiful Friendship".
Elias Koteas as Senior Detective Alvin Olinsky (seasons 1–5), a veteran undercover officer and a friend of Voight who previously worked with him in the Gang Unit. Before joining the force, Olinsky served in the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team stationed in Vicenza, Italy. Olinsky mentions in "Called in Dead" that he has eight confirmed kills in the line of duty. At the end of the fifth season, Olinsky is arrested for the murder of Kevin Bingham, the man who murdered Voight's son, Justin, and is later stabbed to death via a hit in prison while awaiting trial.
Amy Morton as Sergeant Trudy Platt (season 2–present; recurring season 1), a sarcastic desk sergeant of District 21, and the immediate superior of the district's patrol officers. Before taking a desk job, she was a uniformed patrol officer, and worked with Dawson. She passed the detective's exam twice. Platt is married to Chicago Fire character Randy "Mouch" McHolland.
Brian Geraghty as Officer Sean Roman (seasons 2–3; guest season 7[8]), a brash patrol officer who partners with Burgess after transferring to the 2-1 from District 31. He transferred out because of his relationship with Jenn Cassidy (Spencer Grammer), who is now a K-9 officer, to avoid breaking fraternization rules. He has his own private security company on the side. After being wounded in the line of duty, and with the department feeling he would be unable to return to patrol, he resigns and decides to join the San Diego Police Department.
Tracy Spiridakos as Detective Hailey Upton Halstead (season 5–present; recurring season 4), a tough former robbery-homicide detective and Erin Lindsay's replacement following her departure to New York. Upton gets transferred to the FBI field office in New York City in season 7 episode 18, "Lines", to temporarily fill in for an agent undercover. She has great relationships with her CIs and goes to many lengths to protect them. Despite a dark turn in Season 7, she is mostly a "by the book" detective. She is married to former Detective Jay Halstead.
Lisseth Chavez as Officer Vanessa Rojas (season 7), a rookie and Antonio Dawson's replacement following his resignation. She previously worked in an undercover operations unit.
Benjamin Levy Aguilar as Officer Dante Torres (season 10; guest season 9[9]), a recruit who had a complicated past and was recruited under Detective Halstead's wing.Recurring[edit]
Samuel Caleb Hunt as Greg "Mouse" Gerwitz (seasons 1–4), the tech and surveillance expert for the Intelligence Unit who replaces Detective Jin. He had served in the same Army unit as Halstead. After he persuades Voight to get a felony expunged, he resigns from Intelligence to reenlist in the Army.
Stella Maeve as Nadia Decotis (seasons 1–2), an 18-year-old former escort and addict whom Lindsay tries and succeeds in helping. She later becomes the Intelligence Unit's civilian administrative aide and was studying to be a police officer. She was murdered by Dr. Gregory Yates in Law & Order: SVU's 16th season, episode "Daydream Believer", the conclusion of the season's second SVU/Chicago crossover event.

The lizzie bennet diaries
Elizabeth "Lizzie" Bennet (Ashley Clements;[11] Elizabeth Bennet in the novel) is the middle Bennet sister and the narrator of most of the vlogs. She is a graduate student studying mass communications and, like her original counterpart, believes women should be highly educated and do more with their lives than simply pursue husbands. She is very close with her best friend, Charlotte Lu, who was born on the same day as she, as well as her older sister, Jane, while appearing to have a more strained relationship with her younger sister, Lydia. While it is clear that she cares for her family and friends, she can also be fairly prejudiced and quick to judge people who she perceives as condescending or a threat to her way of life, such as Darcy and, at first, Bing Lee.
Charlotte Lu (Julia Cho;[12] Charlotte Lucas in the novel) is Lizzie's best friend and often the director/editor of her vlog. Charlotte wants to be a filmmaker and convinced Lizzie to start her vlog as part of a school project. While the original character of Charlotte Lucas from the books is a minor character, Lu's role in The Lizzie Bennet Diaries has been greatly expanded; she appears in many of the beginning episodes, and, according to both Lizzie and Jane, practically lives at the Bennet house. Charlotte and Lizzie have a falling out after Charlotte accepts Ricky Collins' job offer (which Lizzie originally turned down), but the two soon reconcile.
Jane Bennet (Laura Spencer[13]) is the eldest of the Bennet children, and an overworked, underpaid merchandise coordinator in the fashion world. She is incredibly polite, sweet and, according to Lizzie, "practically perfect in every way."[14] When Bing Lee moves into town, Jane is immediately smitten with him, much to the absolute joy of her mother. Jane is devastated by Bing's sudden departure. She moves to Los Angeles for both a new job and the hope of reconnecting with Bing. She later returns to her home to support her sister Lydia through her difficulties. After this is resolved, Jane is offered a new job in New York City and reconciles with Bing.
Lydia Britney Bennet (Mary Kate Wiles[15]) is the youngest Bennet child, currently attending community college. She is "feisty, energetic, and unapologetic."[16] Lizzie, somewhat less kindly, describes her as "too old to be on any reality shows about having babies in high school."[14] She has also created a series of her own videos starring herself, her cousin Mary, and her cat, Kitty.[17] On the occasion of her 21st birthday in December 2012, she and Lizzie get into a bitter argument about Lydia's perceived immaturity, and Lydia makes plans to vacation in Las Vegas for New Year's Eve, where she meets George Wickham and begins dating. Later, after being the victim of George Wickham's money-making site, she makes up with her sisters.
Bing Lee (Christopher Sean;[18] Charles Bingley in the novel) is a young, wealthy Asian-American medical student who has moved into The Netherfield House in the same neighborhood as the Bennets. He quickly falls for Jane Bennet and begins to date her. Bing abruptly leaves Netherfield and Jane by returning to Los Angeles, breaking Jane's heart, after Darcy suggests that Jane is only engaging in a relationship with him for his money and Caroline tells him that Jane flirted with another guy at his birthday party. However, after a run-in with Lizzie during her time at Pemberley Digital, he makes a return, having quit medical school to pursue his own passions. He and Jane move to New York together in episode 92.
Caroline Lee (Jessica Jade Andres;[19] Caroline Bingley in the novel) is Bing Lee's sister. She is aware of Lizzie's vlog diaries and appears to help Lizzie keep Bing and Darcy from discovering them during Lizzie and Jane's stay at Netherfield. She has a romantic interest in William Darcy, although her feelings aren't reciprocated. She is later revealed to have attempted to manipulate events to keep Bing and Jane apart, as well as (to a lesser extent) stymie Darcy's feelings for Lizzie. Caroline reappears in the sequel, Emma Approved, as Senator James Elton's fiancé, replacing Augusta Elton, the original wife of Philip Elton, from the novel.[20]
Ricky Collins (Maxwell Glick;[21] William Collins in the novel) is a former classmate of Lizzie and Charlotte's, who asks that he be addressed only as Mr. Collins. He has formed an alliance with venture capitalist Catherine de Bourgh, to attempt a foray into the world of web video. Mr. Collins frequently visits the Bennets while in town for a few weeks and, near the end of his stay, offers Lizzie a lucrative job at his company, Collins and Collins. Lizzie turns him down, so he offers the job to Charlotte, who accepts. This decision causes a brief but bitter argument between the two best friends, but they reconcile after Charlotte invites Lizzie to visit Collins & Collins (in the fictional town of Hunsford, California), where Lizzie also learns to tolerate Mr. Collins.
William Darcy (Daniel Vincent Gordh;[22] Fitzwilliam Darcy in the novel) is Bing Lee's best friend and the wealthy heir to an entertainment corporation called Pemberley Digital. He stays with Bing and Caroline at Netherfield until they all leave for Los Angeles. He first meets Lizzie at a wedding, and she overheard him telling Bing that she was "decent enough", which is when her dislike towards him starts. He is described by Lizzie as a snobby and condescending robot, and Jane has difficulty coming up with a flattering descriptor of him, beyond "tall";[23] Charlotte, however, believes that Darcy has a crush on Lizzie.[24] For a long time, second-hand characterization is all the audience has to go by, as Darcy is referred to but never seen, making his first appearance in episodes 59[25] (only from the neck down) and 60,[26] where he confirms Charlotte's suspicions by confessing his love for Lizzie.
George Wickham (Wes Aderhold[27]) is the coach of a university swim team who forms a short-lived romantic attachment with Lizzie. He claims that though he and Darcy were childhood friends, Darcy ruined his life by withholding money Darcy's father had promised, thereby ending George's hopes of a college education.[28] He leaves town for work, eventually re-entering the story after New Year's Day, where he meets and becomes romantically involved with Lydia, as chronicled in her spin-off videos. At the same time, Lizzie learns that George gambled away all the money the elder Darcy left for him, and then took advantage of Gigi Darcy, William's sister, for more. Finally, he attempts to exploit "YouTube Star Lydia Bennet" by releasing a sex tape of the two of them online.[29]
Fitz Williams (Craig Frank;[30] Col. Fitzwilliam in the novel) is Darcy's friend and colleague. Lizzie meets him while dining with Catherine de Bourgh, Darcy's aunt and Charlotte's boss. He has a boyfriend, Brandon, whose name was officially confirmed on Fitz's Twitter, and is particularly good at making care-packages.
Georgiana "Gigi" Darcy (Allison Paige;[31] Georgiana Darcy in the novel) is William Darcy's younger sister and a graphic designer at Pemberley Digital. Her first appearance in The Lizzie Bennet Diaries was Episode 77. She is aware of the video diaries, and claims to like them. She and George Wickham were romantically involved, but this ended when William proved that George was taking advantage of her for the money. Twitter posts between Gigi and Fitz suggest that she actively tries to push Lizzie and Darcy together. She is also instrumental in helping to end George's money-making plot: though the website itself did not list his name and George had stopped returning calls, he answers Gigi when she calls him, allowing Fitz and Darcy to track him down. Thereafter Darcy bought out the company which owned the rights to the sex tape, preventing it from ever being released.
Mrs. Bennet is Lizzie's mother. She appears to be a traditional Southern woman, eager to see her daughters married and interested in little else besides neighborhood gossip. She is almost always impersonated by Lizzie.
Mr. Bennet is Lizzie's father. He appears more calm and levelheaded than his wife, though one of his favorite activities, according to Lizzie, is winding her up.[32] He has a special fondness for bonsai trees and prepares a train extravaganza every Christmas. He is often impersonated by Charlotte and Lydia.
Catherine de Bourgh (Lady Catherine de Bourgh in the novel) is Darcy's aunt and an extremely wealthy venture capitalist who is the primary investor in Collins & Collins, the new media firm run by Mr. Collins, where Charlotte accepts a job offer after Lizzie rejected it. Catherine is very attached to her sickly dog who she calls Annie Kins. She is quick with her opinions and judgements. Charlotte said that Catherine is "on Team Caroline," meaning that she wants her nephew to be with Caroline. She is impersonated by Lizzie, and Ashley Clements says her impression is a combination of Julia Child, Miranda Priestly and Dolores Umbridge.[33]
Mary Bennet (Briana Cuoco[34]) is Lydia, Jane, and Lizzie's cousin who has appeared sporadically in Lydia's vlogs and once in Lizzie's. She becomes better friends and occasional tutor with Lydia while Lydia is staying at her house despite their opposing personalities. She is often the "forgotten" character and her Twitter reads, "I am Mary, never forgotten." Mary also has a boyfriend by the name of Eddie (a subtle nod to the character of Edmund Bertram from Austen's Mansfield Park.)[35] In the novel, she is actually one of the five Bennet sisters, being the middle sister between Elizabeth and Kitty.
Kitty Bennet (Rosie of House Wiles) is Lydia's cat who appears in Lydia's vlogs. In the novel, she is actually one of the five Bennet sisters, being the second youngest after Lydia.

♛ Spotted on the Upper East Side…
Name: Meredith Park Pronouns: She/Her Age: 20 years old Hometown: Upper East Side, NY Occupation: TBD Social Status: Insider Faceclaim: Im Jinah
Who Is Meredith?
“This is how to be a heartbreaker, boys they like the look of danger, we’ll get him falling for a stranger, a player.”
My, my, if it isn’t my favourite little menace. Some people read a good book when they’re bored or text a boring ex but you, Meredith Park, take things to a whole new level. When you’re bored, chaos usually follows. It’s a coin toss on whether you’ll post a cute selfie or ruin a man’s life when the whim hits you and I for one love that for you. You barely know the meaning of the word ‘consequence’ and let’s be honest, you could get away with murder if you wanted. Sure, sometimes your actions can be a little harsh or destructive but whatever, right? You’re just having fun. Whatever happened to having a sense of humour around here. I totally understand. You love your life, you love your bestie and you love doing whatever the hell you want. If something isn’t broken, then don’t fix it. I’ll see you soon, Mer. XOXO ---Gossip Girl
A Little Extra
When you combine restlessness with Meredith Park you get nothing but trouble. All her life she hasn’t been able to sit still and her idea of ‘fun’ isn’t always, well, fun. At least not for her victims (how dramatic, right?). Meredith doesn’t tend to spare thoughts for other people’s feelings especially when they’re not in the inner inner circle. In fact, if she were being brutally honest which she often is, if it was a choice between her (and her bestie Ava, of course) and the rest of the world, the world would not come out winning. There’s nothing wrong with being selfish. Meredith doesn’t expect anyone else to look out for her so she does it herself just to be sure. Growing up though she was totally spoiled and doted upon as needed. Meredith could have almost anything she wanted and in true Upper East Sider fashion, it was never really enough.
When it comes to her life, Meredith likes things just the way they are. She likes to know who her friends are, who her enemies are and who is worth blowing kisses at. Disruption to the status quo is not allowed in Meredith Park’s world. As Blair Waldorf once said, some people are simply better than others and there’s no room for the Dan Humphreys of the world to be sniffing around. When the occasion calls for it, Meredith can pull out the charm. She can be an angel just long enough to fool you and then hell usually follows. And one hell of a headache as well. Meredith is someone who you always hear rumours about, someone who is always allegedly doing something outrageous and that just makes you want to meet her. Hang out with her. Unfortunately, hanging out with Meredith is not for the faint of heart as few found out during the great limo escapade (wild story, you should look into it). Meredith Park is simply here to live her best life and she doesn’t care who she has to cross do it.
What Does Gossip Girl Have On Them?
Meredith loved Gossip Girl. GG was never afraid to be interesting or mean and it was exciting. Jesse was a giant snooze as always for trying to take her down. Mer has the popcorn out waiting for the big return. Maybe GG knows what the hell’s going on with her bestie and the life crisis they’re having ATM as well.
Connections
Ava St. James - listen! Ava is Meredith’s best friend in the whole damn world. Ride or die. Ava is the only person that Meredith truly loves and cares about. That’s her person! Her #1! Is she absolutely furious and hurt that Ava cancelled their lifelong gap year plan to party around the globe to- to (hold on, it takes a moment to even say) build homes for, like, poor people or whatever? You could say that.
Isobel Prescott - as a messy bitch who loves drama, Meredith is lowkey obsessed with Isobel Prescott. The former Queen B and Ice Queen (affectionate), Isobel is the drama.
Penelope Shafai - Meredith lowkey loves Penelope. She’s the perfect person to gossip and judge with. Plus, she’s a babe.
Freddie Redlynn - okay so for those of you who’ve been living under a rock... The limo that Meredith and the girlies stole that fateful night for a joy ride, belonged to Freddie Redlynn (Mer always struggles to get that right). He was such a damn baby about the whole thing, Mer had to throw in a new car just to get him to shut up. So annoying.

Disney Villain Bracket
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
basically how this works is we have brackets a, b, and c. c is a tricky one, hopefully ill explain right
it’s basically a bracket and a half, and the villains in the half bracket will go across and meet in the middle, and the winner of that goes against the two villains on the bracket above
once we get to the middle two in a and b and have that vote, and once the double elimination in bracket c happens, the three villains will all go head to head… to head. it’ll be the three winners of each bracket in one final poll
am i explaining correctly? oh well, y’all will see what i mean when we get there
im sure a lot of y’all have opinions on how this was put together but keep in mind ive never done this before and i did my best. so
also! voting criteria is you picking your favorite of the villains in each poll. not the movies or shows or whatever they’re from, im talking about the characters themselves
i will be posting the polls on the left side of bracket A first, on Monday, April 17 at 12 PM CST! after that, i will post the left side of bracket B the following day at the same time. then the left side of bracket C the next day. the day after that, i will post the right side of bracket A, then B, then C. you get it

The Owl House Characters Singing Karaoke
Disclaimer: Some of these songs are not friendly for all ages and some might even be considered NSFW. Some of the artists who perform these songs I know are not exactly the best people. However, we kept in mind the ages of the characters and the kind of things someone their age would sing even if they aren’t aware of what the song is actually about. Also, feel free to add to this list with your own ideas. I know not everyone will feel the same way as I do on some of these choices but this was just for fun and I might do another list if people request it. I Rate The TTRPG Shows I’ve Watched
Critical Role (53/114 cr1 & 97/99 cr2)
8/10
The og show. I love cr so very much. The pcs are always so wonderful and the crew plays them so convincingly. I wish I could DM like Matt Mercer my god. Genuinely such an entertaining show with a lovely cast. Also Laura Bailey exists so
-2 points for 4 hour episodes. -1 point for being PURE dnd with less overarching narrative. +1 point for a podcast option
Dimension 20 (all caught up on every season)
9.5/10
I’m gonna fight Brennan Lee Mulligan in a Denny’s parking lot. FUCK. This show is so good, it’s had me go from bawling my eyes out one second to hysterically laughing the next. The role-playing is excellent, the episodes are a more manageable length (1-2hours), and Brennan is also such an excellent DM. The cast is great, Ally, Lou, and Zac are so fucking funny, Emily is chaos in human form, Siobhan could murder me and I’d thank her, Murph SAYS he’s a good lawful boy but I see him play he can’t fool me.
-1 point for emotional damages. -.5 points for not being able to talk abt it with my friends bc you have to pay for dropout. +1 point for free trials and the amount of free content on YouTube.
NADDPod (100/100 main campaign 7/16 Trinyvale)
12/10
Genuinely I think this is my favorite dnd podcast. It’s truly so good. Murph is an excellent DM, his NPCs are amazing, his narrative is beautiful, it’s impossible not to fall in love with this campaign. It’s so funny while still having an ongoing theme of love, forgiveness, and mercy and it just makes you feel better after listening. The cast is also wonderful. Emily Axford exists and my heart goes 🥰🥰🥰. Jake is so funny and his portrayal of Hardwon was so GOOD. Caldwell is amazing and it’s real nice to see him get more comfortable dming trinyvale and see him live out his anime boy dreams through Beverly.
-3 points for dragon pussy. +5 points for moonshine cybin existing
The Adventure Zone (12/16 graduation caught up on everything else)
7.5/10
This and critical role seems to be everyone’s baby’s first dnd podcast. Balance was what got my into ttrpg shows in the first place so TAZ will always have a special place in my heart. That being said, I’ve sort of lost interest in graduation, Travis is a wonderful dm don’t get me wrong but I’m just not ~into~ it anymore. Still, Balance and Amnesty are wonderful, I adore those campaigns and I hope Graduation will grow on me too. I’m not giving up on this podcast yet!!
-5 points for Garfield related crimes. +1 point for the PCs. +1 point for Clint
Rusty Quill Gaming (all caught up)
9/10
Fuck me guys. This podcast has really done me a new one recently. The story is really wonderful, the PCs have my whole heart, and the cast is just really really great. There have been such wonderful portrayals of mental health struggles, the loss of a loved one, and just being real people who are complicated and trying their best. And STILL the podcast is really really funny!! They also do a bunch of specials using other systems (they do a bunch by Grant Howitt with Grant Howitt!). It’s just a good time all around. Rusty Quill is also the company that makes TMA so if you’re into horror you’d probably like it? Idk I don’t do spooks.
-3 points for Ben Meredith and his Grizzop related crimes -1 point for Pathfinder and it’s stupid rules -2 points for all the TMA crossovers +2 points because Alex is a monster (but we respect his craft) +3 points for Sasha, Azu, and Cel
Dungeons and Daddies (14/35)
8/10
I’m only partway through but I’m loving this show so far!! The cast is so funny and the premise in general is fucking genius. I can’t wait to see how these characters grow and become actually good fathers (god Ron and Henry are s o c l o s e). I’m in love with their kids and wives (blows a kiss to Samantha and Mercedes). I’m just super pumped to keep listening.
-3 points for child murder. -1 point for poor parenting. +2 points for Beth May
