PLEASE explain some things about HOMESTUCK MINUS CANON i am LEGITIMATELY INTERESTED

Instead of getting an ultimatum n splitting the timeline based on johns decision i chose to make it all sunshine n rainbows cause i love the fluff n i will never forgive the epilogues for jumpscaring me w dirk hanging himself in what was supposed to be the silly lighthearted timeline

So far i don't really have a plot just everyone hanging out

The remaining trolls ask john to save the rest of the trolls like he saved vriska in the retcon with the only exception being vriska herself he tried talking to her trying to convince her that fighting lord English isn't worth it n to please just go to earth c w him but she's too far up her own ass to abandon her delusions of grandeur

I haven't drawn anything about it yet but i imagine he'd also try to talk to ghost vriska trying to save any vriska at that point but she's made peace with living the rest of her days in the dying dream bubbles or something like that

I thought more about the humans than the trolls but back on earth c everyone is living their domestic lives

Rose n kanaya still adopt a troll daughter but this time they don't name her after vriska cause in my heart kanaya fucking hates her n rose is indifferent their daughter is a mutant blood like karkat cause kanaya n karkat actually have a positive relationship unlike a certain blue person (also something something dolorosa parallels) karria is the one who admires vriska n models herself after her much ti kanyas horror

Jade ends up w davepeta as opposed to having negative rizz n no one wanting them they also don't have a baby w rose behind kanayas back yaaay i imagine ruby kinda resents jade cause they had a hands off approach to parenting inspired by dear ol grandpa (i am not sure how davepeta would be as a parent I'm making this up as i go along)

Jake n rox end up together cause i couldn't care less about janejake or dirkjake n i love crackships also rox is trans it's the only thing I'm keeping from meat cause i love him transmasc rox haters go make ur own au anyways merlin is a silly what is he a wizard or something that sounds gay

John n dave have a little situationship going on both of them are pining hard but dave isn't ready to commit n john to me seems like he'd want kids i think he'd want to n love being a dad so casey jr became real me thinks even if dave is not ready to commit he'd drop everything to support john n casey if john asks him but john doesn't wanna force the parent lifestyle on him blah blah your feelings matter too whatever they're emo it's kinda gay tbh

This is as far as i thought about in depth the other characters are there i just haven't thought of what to do w them i could pair up the trolls too this is my dollhouse after all equitav is definitely gonna be there i love them so much

My problem is w jane n dirk cause they're so awful in the post canon content i genuinely have no idea how to even begin to cater them to my liking everytime i see them in the epilogues n 2 i just think of this

At the very least jane won't be the fucking evil president cause mayor is right there n he's already perfect n dirk won't be insufferable n completely mischaracterised it's like the ppl writing this didn't even comprehend their character arcs I'll stop now before i reveal too much of my post canon opinions

I also wanna explore a little bit of vriskas side w her refusing to take the L n not pretend to be the hero n watching everyone in the dream bubbles die cause of her hubris I'd take vriska war trauma over whatever the fuck is going on in the meat timeline anytime

Also also trying to brain of a way to involve the sprites i think about them i luv them

ARquiusprite is ignoring you.

That’s fine. That’s cool. Two can play at this game. You came despite having to deal with him. Not because of him. This works out for the both of you. If he wants to completely ignore your presence all throughout breakfast, not even so much as a sarcastic, “Long time no see” except in many more words and probably more than a little insultingly, that suits you just fine. You get enough of that shit seeping into your thoughts you don’t need it from an external source too.

Dirk > Don’t Look a Gift Horse in the Mouth

You trail a little behind Roxy, her housemate–? You’re not exactly sure what relationship is going on here, but it feels a bit more than housemate–and an exuberant squared sprite as they wind their way through what amounts for a Carapace-targeted market. There’s a lot of…things… you would never have considered food items, being haggled over by chessmen (or women) of both the prospitian and dersite variety. You wonder if New Derse and New Prospit are as segregated as the names implied, or if they are merely historical relics at this point. It’s been several thousand years since y'all seeded civilizations and then completed your big time skip. You don’t see any obvious tension in the mingling of the two types here; and there’s even a few other races either meandering around window shopping or actually manning the shops.

It’s definitely an…interesting set of wares, as the three actual shoppers on this venture stop at a clothing shop. You keep half an ear on the others, Roxy and Davepeta’s chatter loud enough to track even over the odd clicking sounding dialect of the other patrons. A lot of different styles and colors of drapery, from things as simple as something you recognize as bed-sheets, exquisitely tailored little petticoats fitted for the unique cylindrical proportions of the caraparians. 

“Dirkleton! Stop being a stinker and get over here! It’s time for ice-cream!” Roxy quite literally drags you out of your head, latching onto your arm. You aren’t sure how long you’ve been gone, stoically looking out over the crowd with a tension that reminds you of the early days of the game, when you still were still hopped up on adrenaline from your dramatic entry into the session and the bone deep knowledge that your charge was in danger and there’s nothing you could do about it. Nothing you should do about it. Because baby bird need to stretch his wings and fly and it would doom them to coddle them. 

Ice-cream is an…event. True to Roxy’s word ARquiusprite is the one to pay for everyone’s sweet treats. Except yours. But you don’t want one. You hang back while Roxy and Davepeta put their heads together to decide on a good flavor for the cherub, who is wringing her (their? You didn't ask.) claws, a lime green blush staining Calliope's skull-like face.

You don’t notice the drift until you find yourself next to the red sprite that still towards a head above you, despite you finishing off your growthspurt in the intervening years. Not that the contest is really all that fair, what with the floating and the ghostly tail. At this point you’re fuckin’ committed, you guess. He’s still wearing that off-white tank with the weird arrow-shades on it that he had when he was prototyped, which lends credence to your wondering about the staticity of their appearance. The advantage of a tank-top, you note, is that you can see all his those freakishly big muscles. Bulging as he unconsciously shifts and flexes. You can almost see the tension running off his skin. So can the poor bastard pawn behind the register, who is sweating bullets glancing between you two.

Like Davepeta, ARquius’s shades are completely opaque. You can’t read anything, except for the perpetual frown hiding broken teeth. Black cracks running through the constructed shades stirring up the guilt in your gut. (Cracks. A pressure. Your life in his hands. You can do nothing but talk. Stall. Try to buy your right to live with logic and cajoling and guilt)

“How do you even plan to pay for this shit? I don’t see anywhere to keep a wallet.”

“Small-talk still isn’t your STRONG suit is it, Dirk?” ARquiusprite’s voice is a strange rumble, straight red hair shifting as he turns to regard you (you assume) out of the corner of his eye. It’s not like you can see it. 

“Can’t say it’s yours either, bro.” You shot back, before gritting your teeth, “You’ve barely said a word.”

“To you, maybe. To those DESERVING of my brilliance I am one loquacious motherf*****. I have a f****** degree in small talk, dude. Graduated from the sh**** auto responder school of horsesh*** and improvisation. I’m afraid being your entertainment is rather low on my priorities right now.” 

That’s more like it.

“They made you promise to behave, didn’t they?”

He twitches. Your lips curl into a smirk. “Dude, don’t hold yourself back on my account. I’m the interloper here”

“I’m not doing it for you.” He bites back, broken teeth peeking out behind a stifled growl, “I’m doing it because my moirail asked me a f****** favor. If it were up to me you wouldn’t even be crashing this party.”

“Roxy invited me.”

“It was an invitation for the future not right this f****** second. You knew full well she had guests and you decided to crash anyway. There’s no other word for that but inconsiderate as hell.”

He’s right. The fuckin’ arrow straight to the heart causes you to clam up, shut down. The protection of your shades and stoicism is nothing before a being that was once closer to you than anyone in the fuckin’ world every could be.

(you’d thought about it once; trying to create life. Looking at the result, you’re glad you kept to dumb as rocks chat-bots instead)

“You wouldn’t understand, Dirk.” It’s quiet. Nothing more than a rumble in his chest, “At least everyone else cared when they came back. I know you better than anyone–no one f****** matters when you get your head stuck up your own a**.”

Everyone came. Except you.

Before you can respond–how the fuck do you respond?–Davepeta bounds up with what looks like, and probably is, strawberry flavored ice-cream, Calliope with some hot pink flavor, and Roxy with cone full of mint chocolate chip. She turns that smile on you as ARquiusprite goes back to ignoring you (much to the relief of the poor chess dude behind the counter.) You watch as he reaches into Davepeta’s coat to withdraw a wallet from the currently mostly-green garment. Smart. Maybe ARquius didn’t have any pockets in his skin-tight sweat-soaked tank, but Davepeta lucked out into a much more versatile clothing selection.

“You sure you don’t want anythin’ Dirk? I saw they had orange sherbert in there. I kno you’d love that.”

You shake your head, not looking away from the way Davepeta flings themselves into ARq’s arms in excited gratitude. At the way ARquiusprite’s glow seems to intensify, curling his tail around them. You swear there’s a red blush staining his off-white semi-corporeal face.

“Yo, earth-c to Dirk, do you copy?”

You don’t understand?

Maybe you don’t.

ARquiusprite was one of the few voices you don’t have popping up in your head.

You wouldn’t understand, Dirk.

You have a feeling that’s gonna change.

“No, Rox,” You purposefully shake yourself out of your own head again, “No, I’m good.”

some basics about me:

   - i think I was a cis female? all i know for sure is that I used she/her pronouns lol    - i was pansexual af I luved everyone    - i was about medium height and had a curvy body type w wider hips than my bust    - i had tan skin and full lips    - i had blonde curly hair which I dyed pink most often but also other colors    - check the bottom of this post for some pics that look close to how I did!    - i liked to blep a lot    - i was extremely affectionate, i loved to show my friends my love but id never do anything they were uncomfy with    - i looooved makeup, i always at least had eyeliner and lipstick on. i usually stole the makeup from the past oops. i got into makeup because my mom left some in the house and i wanted to feel closer to her    - frigglish was an extremely affectionate cat, he loved being pet and sitting in my lap and was very vocal! he didn’t really like anyone else in my hometown tho. i think he only liked humans    - i looooved video games, esp nintendo, esp gamecube and ds games and esp pokemon, super maio sunshine, and paper mario!    - i needed to recharge my social battery a lot especially when i first started being around other humans. i was v much a people person but i just tended to get drained when around people for too long    - pre game i let my laptop die a lot and then would disappear until i got it charged again

basic facts about my timeline:

   - timeline made it to earth c, im p sure i came from a game over tl originally    - all the sprites had a faint glow, i remember loving the pinky purple glow fefetasprite had    - on earth c we had gaming nights and i’d love to play mario kart pokemon and smash bros esp    - we had allooottt of movie nights on earth c, we loved to watch bad movies a lot of the time and just roast em but we also often watched all our favs!    - on earth c i would initiate strilonde hugs all the time    - i think it followed canon p closely?

general alpha kids memories:

   - pre game i met dirk first, then jane, then jake    - i voicechatted with the other alpha kids before entering the game p often    - i had a crush on literally… all the alpha kids at some point iajak i had a crush on dirk first and that lasted for awhile but didn’t go anywhere, then i had a tiny crush on jake but it was p short lived, my longest crush was on janey. i flirted w her lowkey and highkey and wanted to date her so bad, but once she told me about her crush on jake i kept it to myself for the most part (and sometimes dirk lol) and backed off    - jane tried to teach the alphas how to cook on earth c and we were all TERRIBLE LOL I was more focused on decorating and dirk was tryin to make the portions perfect and kept starting over and jake… tried his best sdjsdj    - on earth c, i was watchin a movie and i laid my head in jakes lap w dirk above me on the couch and jane let me lay my legs across her lap. jake played w my hair i think it was an action movie    - (WARNING NSFW) the alphas had a foursome while in trickster mode, we all highly regretted it afterwards tho skjsfkj we weren’t in our right minds and years of romantic and sexual frustration poured out at the moment

dirk memories:

   - he was lanky and tan w freckles and blonde hair he bleached blonder    - we watched mlp:fim pre game on a rabbit type website, mostly for his enjoyment but it was cute and I enjoyed it    - pregame i used to dye my own hair and it was a mess, after i finally met people i got them to help me, usually it was dirk and when i retrned the favor and bleached his hair id sometimes play w it and make it into shapes and stuff    - dirk was vvvv good at singing, but also v shy about it    - getting hugs from dirk was enveloping and warm and trusting i felt so safe in his arms    - jake and dirk got married

calliope memories:

   - callie was a tiny short thing, probably around 5’ or under and by far the smallest    - me and callie were eating breakfast one day in this house that was v stereotypical of suburban america (it was probably john or janes house) and callie stuck out her tongue to eat a hard boiled egg and she looked up and noticed i was staring lovingly at her and she blushed    - we were together! im not sure if we ever got married but we def dated for a loooong time!    - callie got so shy about romance and relationship stuff, i was v patient w her tho and tried not to go out of her comfort zone    - i feel like me and callie went flying sometimes? like id attach her to me somehow and we’d go flying    - callie looooved tea, we’d have tea parties w rose and kanaya    - we went on a lot of double dates w kan and rose!

jane and jake memories:

   - jane was shorter than me, around rose’s height, and a big girl    - I think jane might’ve been asian?    - jake was the darkest of any of the kids, as was jade, I believe they were pacific islanders?    - jake and dirk got married    - i think jane was too busy w her business to worry about relationships tbh    - jake was vvvv closed off about his feelings, it took him forever to feel comfortable enough to talk about them

rose and kanaya memories:

   - rose was shorter than me with blonde hair and kinda chubby    - kan was v tall and lanky    - kanaya and rose got married, although I don’t think we went trickster mode afterwards like in canon    - me and callie went on double dates w them a lot    - we also all had tea parties together a lot    - rose was a really good singer but she didn’t like to show it off    - one time i was watching a movie and rose was sitting in front of me and i just played w her hair and we were so content    - I was rose’s mom figure but id sometimes slip up and call her mom, esp at first

   - dave liked to call me mom a lot, I liked it and embraced it    - i loved to tease dave when he went on dates w karkat bc he got so shy about it, he’d often invite other people on their dates bc he liked having people to fall back in just in case
