Have you ever noticed that some afghans look perfectly sized in listing photos, often held up by a smiling "person" in the same pose every time? That’s no coincidence. 

These are mockups...digitally added images that make it look like the blanket is real and full-size, even if it hasn’t been crocheted at all. 

While mockups can help show off a design, they don’t reflect the actual size of the project. And some shops use them to make a pattern appear smaller or more larger than it really is. Always check the block count (the number of squares) to estimate the true size. It's easy to create a beautiful graph with a large number of squares, but that doesn't always mean it's a realistic project. Some sellers rely on that wow factor just to make a sale, so keep an eye out.
