1.What’s your age and full name? Marina Ingvarsson, 32

2. What do you do for a living? I style, blog and influence.  

3. How long have you lived in your city? 10 years

4. Which neighborhood do you live in? Long Island City, NY

 5. Where you were born? Ukraine

6. Where are you in the picture you sent? Why did you choose that location? The location I chose has that classic New York vibe that separates NYC from any other city in the world. This view never gets old, and is a reminder of sorts to why I chose to live here. 

7. How would you describe the way you dress?  I’m always trying to find the balance between elegance and practicality, but lately I’ve found that I’m not afraid to slightly overdress, as long as I’m confident about my picks. When I start my days fully dressed in the look I love, I’m more productive.

8. What are you obsessed with at the moment? As a new mom, my daughter is of course my main obsession these days. 

9. What could you never live without? A full night's sleep. 

10. What’s the best and worst thing about your city?  New York is a city where the dreams come true. And it's both the best and the worst part about it. While it can be a source of endless energy and inspiration, with everyone focused on fulfilling their dreams - it's quite hard to maintain continuos and stable friendships, for example.    

11. What’s the biggest misconception about your city? People tend to think that since NYC is a fast city - then things in your career must naturally happen at a fast pace. While this could be true in some cases, generally New York is about patiently waiting while working very hard. 

12. Does your city have its own style? If so, how would you describe it? It used to be known for the all-black attire, but things have changed. With all the possible color combinations in abundance, I'd say it's mostly the silhouette that is recognizable these days - I call it "heavy on top, light on the bottom" - when the loose coats with scarves or oversized jackets are mixed with the very minimal and sporty footwear. I think this trend has been brought here by all the cool asian kids that have entered the fashion scene in recent years.  

13. What’s the best place in your city that we might not know about? I absolutely love the Brooklyn botanic garden. It's beautiful, quiet and can feel very private even in the Summer months. And I'm amazed at how many new yorkers have never been there.

14. What’s been your proudest professional achievement? All the personal relationships with the amazing people that I've met through my work. 

15. Who do you look to on Instagram for style inspiration day to day? Lauren Faye's @c_l_o for beautiful lifestyle images, and Benjamin Grillon's @thecolourjournal for the absolute best color combo ideas

16. How do people wear jewellery in your city? Do you think this is a reflection of its culture? In New York, the jewellery is all about self expression and statements. Like cars in LA, in NYC your jewellery is an extension of your personality. 

17. How do you wear jewellery everyday? Does is play a part in your overall style? Large minimalist artsy statement pieces, stacks of thin rings or bracelets - used to balance an otherwise simplistic or color-blocked look.
