Thank you so much for asking this question because the lore of Cade and Jalen is something that the people need to know about!!

They were also on USA Basketball’s U19 as teammates in 2019 (Scottie Barnes and Jalen Suggs were also on that team). I don't know if this video is from the same U19 practice, but if you look up Cade and Jalen's rivalry then THIS is what you see first:

There was also this video of Jalen saying, "We have the tough guy Cade, off the court, walking around like he's big bro all the time" and Cade replying, "I really am big bro, to especially Jalen Green."

In the 2021 Draft, Cade went number 1, and Jalen went number 2, so there was of course a whole media narrative about who was better than the other (Jalen says he's the better one and carries a massive chip on his shoulder).

In their first NBA matchup, Jalen trash talked Cade, got T'd up, didn't score for the rest of the game and then the Pistons won. When Cade was asked about what Jalen said to him, he was like, "it was all for the cameras."

The rivalry heated up recently in November 2024 when Jalen thunderously dunked on Cade. Note the non-stop trash talking from Jalen and Cade just nodding.

There was also Cade's appearance on TNT, where he talked about the Pistons and his rivalry with Jalen. Cade was like, "We both kinda know what it is." Shaq didn't like his corporate answer, and for once, I kind of agree with Shaq, give us the non-corporate answer–

Despite all their heat on the court, Jalen and Cade have both praised each other anyway. In 2021 Summer League, Jalen said that he has "respect for [Cade] so that’s the reason we come on the court and we’re going to battle that every time." And Cade said in January 2025, that "[Jalen's] been having a great year. It’s something I expected. I knew he was a big time player in high school coming up."

Still...a Pistons vs Rockets matchup in the NBA finals would be kind of legendary. Not sure if it'll happen anytime soon, but I'd like to see it happen! 🚙🔥🚀
