𝐍𝐎 𝐒𝐌𝐔𝐓, 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐒 𝐌𝐀𝐘 𝐅𝐄𝐄𝐋 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃, 𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐃𝐎 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃 𝐌𝐘 𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊𝐒 𝐎𝐍 𝐌𝐘 𝐏𝐀𝐆𝐄 𝐈𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘'𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐒 𝐒𝐌𝐔𝐓.

You and Reiner are always at each other’s throats—at least, that’s what the others say. It’s not mean fighting, not really. It’s more like you’re always trying to one up each other, see who can run faster, hit harder, last longer during drills.

Maybe it started as a joke, a way to pass time during those grueling training days. But now? It’s something else. Something warm and breathless that settles under your skin every time he smirks at you, every time his shoulder brushes yours during sparring.

Today, it’s the obstacle course. Again.

You stretch your arms out, bouncing on the balls of your feet, and Reiner is already next to you, arms crossed, grin cocky. “You sure you’re ready for this?” He teases, eyes flicking down to your stance. “Wouldn’t want you falling behind again.”

You scoff, rolling your eyes but hiding your grin. “Please. You’re the one who tripped last time, remember? You almost kissed the dirt.”

“Only ‘cause you distracted me,” he mutters, more to himself than you—but you catch it. Your cheeks flush just a bit, but then Sadies blows the whistle, saving you from having to come up with a reply.

You run.

You don’t think—your body moves automatically, muscle memory taking over. You leap over logs, dodge swinging sandbags, scale wooden walls, and you can feel Reiner just behind you the whole time. Always on your heels. Always chasing.

Part of you wants to win. The other part... kind of wants him to catch you.

And then, right before the last hurdle, you stumble. It’s slight, just a misstep—but Reiner’s there, catching your wrist before you go tumbling. His fingers wrap around yours like it’s second nature, like he always planned to be there.

“You good?” He pants, close—so close you can see the sweat trailing down his jaw.

“Yeah,” you breathe, and your voice wobbles a little. He’s still holding you.

You both clear the final hurdle and land at the same time. A tie. Again.

Neither of you says anything for a few seconds. You’re too busy trying to catch your breath. Or maybe you’re trying to calm your heart down because it’s going crazy in your chest.

“You okay?” He asks again, quieter now, and his hand drops from yours a little too slowly.

You nod. “Yeah. Thanks... for catching me.”

He shrugs, but his ears are pink. “I wasn’t gonna let you fall. Not like that.”

You laugh, but it’s soft. “What, only if it’s dramatic and embarrassing?”

“Something like that,” he mumbles. You expect him to gloat, or say something cocky like usual. Instead, he glances at you out of the corner of his eye and says, “you really had me pushing to keep up today. Guess you’ve been training harder.”

Your heart skips a beat. A compliment. From Reiner. “Yeah? Well, I’m not gonna let you win next time,” you say, nudging his shoulder.

“You sure it’s not ‘cause you like the way I look when I’m sweating?” He grins now, teasing again—but his voice is softer, more playful than usual. You punch his arm lightly, but your face is on fire.

“Maybe,” you mutter. He blinks.

“Wait—what?”

You don’t give him a chance to process it. You’re already walking away, cheeks burning, tossing a grin over your shoulder. “Come on, golden boy. Race you to the mess hall.”

And just like that, he’s chasing you again—just like always.

pt 2? 👀 sure.

You’re paired with Reiner for hand to hand combat drills. “Ready to lose again?” He teases, already bouncing lightly on his heels as the rest of the cadets start sparring around you.

You roll your eyes. “You got lucky last time. Don’t get cocky.”

“Who says I’m not just naturally good?” He smirks, and oh—if looks could punch, he’d already be on the ground.

You charge first.

He sidesteps and grabs your arm, trying to flip you, but you twist at the last second and catch him off guard, your legs sweeping his out from under him. He hits the ground with a thud and a shocked laugh.

“Well well,” you gloat, crouching over him. “Who’s naturally good now?”

He props himself up on his elbows, flushed and out of breath, but his eyes aren’t annoyed—they’re glowing with something warm and proud. “You’re unbelievable,” he murmurs, and you feel your own heart stumble.

“What?”

“You’re just…” he trails off, then suddenly flips you, and now you’re the one on your back, staring up at him.

“Cheater!” You gasp.

“Strategy,” he corrects, but he’s not moving. His face is close—too close. You could count every freckle on his nose if you weren’t so busy trying not to short circuit.

You blink up at him, caught between exasperation and butterflies. “You gonna pin me all day, or…?”

His smirk softens into a smile. “You okay with it?”

You nod, just a little, your fingers curling around the fabric of his shirt. He leans in, but before anything happens—

“Hey! Stop flirting and fight!” Jean yells from the side.

You both spring apart like you’ve been electrocuted. “We weren’t flirting!” You and Reiner shout at the same time, then exchange a guilty glance.

Reiner clears his throat, face redder than a sunburn. “Rematch later?”

You smile. “You’re on.”

So what does Candy Cadets story in RUIN mean now after SOTM?

Now that it’s been a few days since sotm released and people have been replaying the game, out of bounds exploring, and theorising… it got me thinking about how this leads up to ruin and how does that change our view on the mimic now that we know its origins?

we met candy cadet and to my understanding, it led us (at least me) to think the mimic killed David. Is that still true? Is there evidence that David was killed by the mimic? Is this story now confirming a whole piece to the Murry family?

candy cadets story in Ruin goes like this:

“Now I will tell you a story. About a mother and a little boy who lived alone in a cabin in the dark woods. There was a monster in the woods, but the mother caught it and kept it locked in the basement. The monster always made scary noises at night, but the mother would tell the boy not to worry because it could never get out. Then she would sing the boy a lullaby to sleep. One day, the monster stopped growling and instead, listened and learned the lullaby. The next day when the mother went out to find food, the monster sang the lullaby from the basement. The little boy heard the lullaby and opened the door.”

it was always Fiona and David, Edwin wasn’t really around for them, for his family as he prioritised his work and contract for Fazbear. When I think cabin in the woods, I think of their house because it feels so deep somewhere after managing those underground tunnels just to get to the house in SOTM. M1, but it could also mean F10-N4, who is trapped under the warehouse, that could be considered a basement because of how far deep the Research and Development room is. M1 is still a mimic program that learned to mimic voices, but has a conscience. M2 (mimic we see in ruin) is just a program that is mimicking action and abuse that it was taught by Edwin. If it has a conscience, it shows it by mimicking words already said to it back to Edwin. We know it hurts but all it knows is to hurt and hurt others.

Who was luring and so who did it lure? What does the story mean now?

I'm glad that we're getting that starfleet academy series set in the 32nd century because discovery is doing some interesting stuff there and it would be a shame not to continue it somehow. I know I'm probably the only one who thinks that but I don't care. I'll watch it and I look forward to it <3

The Paris Health Council

Members of the health council in 1807 + the Prefect of Police of Paris

Created in 1802 by Napoleon and his Prefect of Police of Paris, Louis-Nicolas Dubois, the Paris health council was an advisory body which assisted in the regulation of public health.

According the historian Ann Fowler La Berge, “The Paris health council was one of the most successful and influential institutions that grew out of the nineteenth-century French public health movement.”

“From 1802 to 1848 the members of the Paris health council prepared yearly anywhere from 150 to 600 reports dealing with various aspects of public health in the city of Paris and the department of the Seine.”

The 7 members of the health council in 1807:

Charles-Louis Cadet de Gassicourt, chemist and pharmacist

Nicolas Deyeux, chair of chemistry at the Paris Faculty

Guillaume Dupuytren, second surgeon at the Hôtel-Dieu

Jean-Baptiste Huzard, inspector-general of the Veterinary School of France

Michel-Auguste Thouret, dean of the Faculty of Medicine and author of many works on hygiene

Jean-Jacques Leroux, succeeded Thouret in 1810 as dean of the Faculty of Medicine

Antoine-Auguste Parmentier, pharmacist and chemist, famous for his earlier research and introduction of the potato into European diets

The first five years of the organization’s existence, its role was limited to the “examination of supposedly adulterated drinks, the investigation of and reporting on epizootics, the investigation of unhealthy factories and workshops, visiting prisons and reporting on their sanitary state, and providing first-aid to the drowned and asphyxiated.”

In 1807, the organization’s responsibilities increased to cover a greater number of issues.

“The council was henceforth to report on epidemics, markets, rivers, cemeteries, slaughterhouses and slaughteryards, dumps, dissection rooms, and public baths; the council would also keep medical statistics and mortality tables, do research on the sanitary reform of public places, the perfecting of unhealthy industrial processes, and the elimination of quackery; the members were also charged with determining the best methods of heating and lighting and doing research on secret remedies.”
