Silliest academic moment to me personally is when you've spent a good chunk of your life hearing about how elusive and difficult calculus is. That the concept of calculus is some grand, overly complex concept that will melt the minds of mortals. That it's the language of God and all. Then when you actually look into calculus and try doing it you realize it's just 7th grade algebra

i graduated uhhhh 4 1/2 years ago and now im like "what if i turned my compsci minor into a full degree :>". that may or may not be the devil talking.

i got three new math books out of the library so now im like kind of actively trying to learn abstract algebra, real analysis, and complex analysis and reviewing calc ii and calc iii and i have books on stats and probability at home (but not planning to take those classes next semester)
