I think it would be super interesting if Caleb is accidentally the one to tell Aaron about John blackmailing him into letting Robert go.

Like maybe he gets on Aaron for his husband’s actions, thinking Aaron knows about it when obviously Aaron had no idea and rebuffed Robert when he posed this theory to Aaron.

I think it would be an interesting angle and bring in a lot of Angst™️ and guilt for Aaron 👀 plus, I want more of Caleb (or anyone) defending Robert 😭

I don’t know how likely this is to happen, but I think John blackmailing Caleb could be a really interesting way to turn the tide for Robert and Aaron.

Assuming that Robert remembers that John drugged him and dragged him into his van, and as a result Robert has an almighty crash out in front of everyone accusing John and begging everyone to believe him, I think it’s safe to assume that Aaron isn’t about to run to Robert’s defence in the moment that he needs him to. But I don’t think that means Robert’s accusations would completely fall on deaf ears.

Even after all this time, Aaron knows Robert. This could be wishful thinking on my part, but I hope that just the very possibility that he could be telling the truth, the instinct deep within Aaron’s gut telling him to listen, would be eating away at him. Enough for him to want to seek some answers.

And although there’s no way for him to prove that John did drug Robert, the one thing he can prove is whether he got Robert fired, and that’s where Caleb comes in.

Caleb evidently feels guilty about firing Robert, so seeing him pushed to the brink by John and throwing all sorts of accusations at him will probably raise alarm bells. Whether he chooses to do anything about it considering what John is holding over him is the big question, but if Aaron were to ask him outright and in complete confidence if John pushed him to fire Robert, he might be willing to tell the truth.

And with the knowledge that John is willing to blackmail Caleb over a traumatic event in order to enact his revenge on Robert, at the very least it might plant the seed needed to get them to start question what else he’s capable of doing.

One can dream anyway.

i know the ultimate goal is robron living happily ever after but it's so nice seeing robert getting his bearings in the village and seemingly making some friends away from aaron. i'd be very down for this to continue for quite a while ngl

You know what would be an interesting story down the road for the show and Robron.

We all know that Aaron and Cain have a close but complicated relationship. After Paddy, Cain is the closest thing Aaron has to a father figure.

Aaron also has a very complicated relationship with his Uncle Caleb.

Now, what if Caleb and Robert hit it off and Caleb, in some ways, becomes a father figure to Robert?

Cain and Caleb are going to be on/off all the time, and Caleb also has a complicated relationship with Aaron. So that could cause tension and drama between Aaron and Robert. As well as them, maybe having to choose sides and deal with the ongoing hot/cold relationship that Cain and Caleb have.

I mean surely he’s not got that long left because even though he does it I doubt Caleb is gonna like being manipulated and John will have shown a bit more of his true colours, and what’s he gonna do kill Caleb? All the other people in on the secret will know. Him being so obsessed with Robert will be his downfall.

His flaw is going to come in the threating of Ruby tho which is very interesting given how many people have pointed out the RubyCaleb vs Robron parallels.

Caleb and Robert will be doing anything to protect Ruby and Aaron and I don't think John will see it coming. From my understanding of Caleb he's also a scheming person so I'm exited to see him with Robert!

I think with these spoilers I could see one of the following happening:

we get long kidnapping of Robert by John and everyone looking for him (aka the Lachlan) - Aaron will freak out and that's how we get the Robron angst + Danny tears.

Caleb & Robert (+ Mack?) join forces and we get them trying to pin John down for something while pretending him antagonizing Rob is working. (Cain & Tracy would come into it when they find NateEvidence™)

Aaron pulls a loyalty 🤮 card 🤮 out of his plot mind and runs away 🤮 with 🤮 John 🤮 for like a month or two

But I think we're going to be actively be seeing people working against John soon.
