so the bg3 boundary break pointed out that in the character creation menu a skydone was tucked away in the corner that held just the galaxy / astral plane skybox textures so i booted up the cc to scuttle over there with the cameratool & took a few shots of the inside to share !

Camera Tool Here is an example of the struggle I was having using the camera tool. The timing was no longer aligning with the words as they appeared on the screen. And as you can see most obviously with the “tobacco and alcohol” frame is that it was moving off the screen when I wanted it to be on the center of the screen.  The class critique was really helpful and helped me move forward from this issue. Logan suggested I try doing this by precomping all the text, and then playing around with keyframing with rotation and scaling. This was a great work around, and I was able to have more control over the movement of the text that I was losing trying to learn how to use the camera tool properly.

@cyberheart-01​ So Imma show you how, though it’s the “short” version (when I edit pics I don’t really have an idea in mind, I just wing it and try stuff out until I like it, so I deleted the layers that ended up going unused, ence “short”)

The tools I used are the CameraTools (to fly around, change time of day so I can control the light, pause the game, and take screenshots in 4k) and Photo mode tools (did you know it also works on NPCs? You can pause the way they are looking with it, move your character, unpause it and they’ll move their eyes and head in your direction)

The whole thing under the cut because it’s long (lots of pictures)

I started with these two pictures

I used a gun (idk which one tbh, just one that looked good) in photomode to light up his face, but didn’t want the particles around, so I put one on top of the other so I would have the original background intact.

(Also both pictures have the Smart sharpen filter, 300% amount, at 0,3px radius)

I started as I always do, with the color balance adjustment layer, because Cyberpunk is green af (and I prefer more purplish colors).

Then I used the selective color adjustment layer and fucked around because I wanted to do something different so instead of leaving it as it was, I changed the blend mode to multiply and lowered it to 65% opacity (tbh Idk how I reached this step, maybe it was after making the picture black and white, who knows, it was 9am and hadn’t gone to sleep yet)

I then edited it the options while in multiply so that it’d look good.

Then added curves to change the light a bit.

I really like it with color, but what if....?

Okay, the light for a B&W photo is great (I also played around with the options in there, since you can choose which colors go darker or lighter, creating more or less contrast as you see fit), buuut I like when things pop so I erased the mask on his eyes and cyberwear

Then use adjustment layers to make the blue pop more, with Selective color and Hue/saturation (also erased the areas where the cyberwear was, because the yellow was too yellow, and he has yellow on his eyes too so I couldn’t simply not edit the yellow color altogether)

Then went to the folder, applied a mask and decided to also erase the area around his eyes, his eyeliner, which looks bluish and makes it look better

Levels and vibrance to edit the lighting more

Then channel mixer so it isn’t as gray, a touch of purple/blue

And finally paint over that hecking dot that belongs to the background near his face.

And that’s it!
