BIO

Camilo Arturo Madrigal was born as the fourth eldest grandchild in the Madrigal family, only older than Mirabel and Antonio. Camilo was known as a bit of a wild child. While he was not disrespectful or rude in any manner, he enjoyed making people laugh, as well as pulling pranks on others. His sense of humor was unmatched within his family, and it seemed he always needed to be doing something. 

Throughout school Camilo was known as a prankster, someone who was always able to relieve any tension with a joke, or a little bit of intervention. He was charming and sweet, and while straight-A’s weren’t ever really on the table for him, school wasn’t something he absolutely detested. His grades were decent enough, and his teachers always enjoyed having him in class. 

Friendships and relationships with others always came easily to Camilo- his charm, friendliness, and willingness to help anyone who required it tended to win him a place in the heart of any and everyone he came across. Helping others, taking care of them, and making sure they felt comfortable and seen were priorities to Camilo, even with his slightly mischievous nature.

Nothing Camilo ever did was meant to be harmful or hurtful in any manner, his only goal ever being to ensure others were happy. After going through the bulk of school, Camilo realized it was time to decide what he’d do with his life, what his goals were, and what he wanted for his future. While teaching may not have seemed overtly logical to everyone, his drive to help others indicated it would be the perfect career for him. And, his laid-back nature made the elementary school level perfect. After finishing his degree, he took a teaching position in Bounds Bay, as the kindergarten teacher. 

HEADCANONS

Camilo rents and lives in a small house just inside town. He lives alone, save for his pet Iguana, whom he named Fred.

Despite having grown up in a family that seemed to always be cooking something, Camilo is dreadfully unprepared and lacks in culinary skill. Most nights, he grabs dinner from the same diner in town. 

More than just about anything, Camilo loves music. He incorporates it into nearly all his lessons, and always has it playing around his home, even just for background noise.

Memories of their real life : Camilo Madrigal was born to Pepa Madrigal and her husband, Felix. Brother to elder sister Dolores Madrigal and younger brother Antonio Madrigal, Camilo possesses the ability to shapeshift. He grew up in Columbia, living with his entire family in the magical casita, blessed by the same miracle the rest of his family members have been blessed with. Growing up, Camilo was known for being both funny and kind, using his power both to garner laughs and storytell, while also creating mild confusion and just a little chaos. Still, despite it all, Camilo has always aimed to be just as helpful as the rest of his family members, his passion for serving his community apparent in both his last name and his consistent presence. While school and academics have never been Camilo’s forte, nor his primary interest, Camilo possesses charm, wit, and street smarts beyond measure. Following the events of the ‘Encanto’ movie, Camilo remained with his family in their casita for 8 more years. However, per his memories, he believes he only remained for 2 more years prior to their miracle triggering an event which landed him in Sydney.

- So this could either go two ways, the children of Encanto asking s/o to perform a 'famous song that they heard about from their traveling tios'

- Eventually she would perform the sequence of 'Let it Go' in the middle of Encanto being an ice castle on

- And imagine the look on Camilo's face when it's the part where you let your hair down ('I'm never going back, the past is in the past. Let it go, let it go.')

- Then you dress that you make!! He is star struck!!!

- While making the ice castle you make sure to bring everyone inside safely so it's a new experience for them

- Then the kids suddenly ask if you can perform one more act since they're already inside the castle, then they look at Camilo.

- They want you to perform the reprise version of For the First Time in Forever with Camilo

- Naturally you're worried bc thats a dangerous number so you ask Camilo to lift his ruana up and you quickly form a little ice shield on his chest so you know exactly where to aim and dont hurt him

- AND MY GOSH can you imagine how cool this number would be irl/not acting

- S/O going out of control in Encanto, and Camilo who is the pure embodiment of sunshine, walking through the blizzard and singing for you to realize there is hope and that it can be solved with love

- But we all know how the number ends then baam camilo ends up being hurt :((

- BUT OKAY what about for Into the Unknown and Show Yourself?

- Into the Unknown I can see that there is more about s/o's past as she had never knew where she comes from and why she has powers even though she's not a Madrigal, so then she hears the Voice late at night and she wanders around Encanto and eventually ends up in the lake where the miracle started

- After seeing she's brought disaster to Encanto she leaves so solve the miracle's whereabouts and I'd imagine the whole family would come along as needed (wooo madrigal family adventure outside of Encanto time where they use their powers to stop danger, love to see that)

- Finally 'Show Yourself' would be super inspirational bc s/o is finally happy she knows where she comes from and when the visions start to appear before everyone I imagine it's memories with everyone from Encanto, including Camilo (who by the way is SO proud of you)

- After everything gets solved Camilo would definitely boast and brag about you, falling in love with you even more as the boyfriend of the 'Protector of Encanto'

- (then you hear the younger kids going 'YEAH RIGHT' and he deadass has a childish debate with them I love this man ahsdn)

assorted encanto disney plus series ideas:

the intro theme song is sung by carlos vives, while sebastian yara sings the closing theme song

dolores and mariano love duet. need i say more

episode where we see félix and augustín bond, something not unlike the deleted scene where they clean casita with maribel

an episode told in a series of wildly conflicting flashbacks as to how félix first met pepa and their ensueing courtship. julieta's story is different from augustín's is completely different from bruno's. even camilo chimes in to share in his perspective even though he obviously wasn't born when his parents met. pepa and félix fail to come up with a consensus on the early days of their relationship, but thankfully abuela's memory is impeccable and she is able to share the true story

bruno trying to make amends to all the other townspeople he's offended, like the lady with the dead fish or the priest who lost his hair, is also a must. bonus points if the grandkids try to assist him in his quest

need an entire 'filler' episode of luisa just chilling as hard as possible, taking naps and sipping from coconuts and lazing on a hammock in the quiet

obviously camilo deserves at least one solo musical number, probably about how fun, or mentally taxing, it is to constantly masquerade as someone else

would also appreciate abuela bringing up abuelo pedro more and sharing little stories and anecdotes from when he was alive as she starts to heal from her trauma

an episode entirely from casita's perspective. won't elaborate

isabela gets a girlfriend, obviously

'fiiler' type episode following the lives of the ordinary townspeople to expand on the lore and explore how they really feel about the madrigals

actually it would be cool to see one of the grandkids face some minor hardship and have abuela tell a story of abuelo experiencing a similar difficulty, even if it's something as simple as what to wear to a big event or how to impress your prospective boo's parents. bonus points if abuelo pedro's story is paralleled with mirabel's

obviously we need to see luisa's room, camilo's and pepa's and julieta's, dolores's too. an episode where the whole family helps to redecorate bruno's room is also a must. i need there to be a running joke that no one has ever seen inside abuela's room, but the audience is treated to a glimpse of it, a simple room not unlike the one she once shared with pedro but decorated with butterflies, candles, and dozens and dozens of pictures of her family

Look who just woke up- is that SOFIA VERGARA? No, I must have been mistaken, that’s PEPA MADRIGAL from ENCANTO/DISNEY. I heard she is 50 YEARS OLD and stuck here just like everyone else. Even in the 20’s, she still gives off a STORM BEFORE THE RAINBOW, OVERWHELMED MOTHER TRYING TO DO HER BEST, CURLING UP WITH A GOOD BOOK impression. She’s known to be quite CHEERFUL, but has a tendency to be MOODY on her bad days.

How long have they been in Sydney? -- in real time, pepa has been living in sydney for two years, but in her false memories, she’s lived there her whole life.
