Y'know this little throwaway gag is so bizarre to me and I know this game is a bit very different to 2 and 3 but look at Matt's reaction when Jack raids the place in 3:
You'd argue he's simply stopping Jack bc he hates this guy and he also hates this job which Could Be True but i highly doubt bc overall despite his virginity and overall cursed vibe, Matt seems to be a good employee, by all means (I mean, Peter literally gave him a vacation instead of firing him in 2, so that says a lot).
Plus, Dave hates this guy as much as he hates him! He literally always calls him creepy and, AND!
This is the only footage you get of the prize corner in 2. Which is also the first game to show Matt and Dave's disdain for one another, Dave being likely more scared of Matt than Matt will ever be of him.
Which is all very curious. 2 does set a drastic change for Matt too with him going from being just strange to outright creepy, so was the old pizza place closing something that actually affected him or was he consistently that creepy all along? And if the later, did he just start hating Dave after that or did they always have beef and they simply had some sort of arrangement (or even higher word from Steven who tended to let Dave do whatever he wanted in general) that let him do so?

ive glutened myself again -_-
#at work lunch.... r.i.p...#this one was 100% my fault tho#i READ THE LABEL and somehow completely missed that there was barley malt in the chocolates#luckily id only eaten 2 because. they put them on the plate with the cake#it looked nice...#they were foil-wrapped so it wasnt TOTALLY unsafe but like. man.#YOU try eating a chocolate egg without the outside of the foil touching the chocolate#so i didnt eat those ones. i snuck them off to my desk and stuck them in my lunchkit#but i ate 2 later because i saw the bag lying out in the kitchen & grabbed some#then EVEN LATER i looked at the bag again & realized it said lindt & was like. wait a fucking second#90% of lindt chocolates have barley malt in them#so i checked the ingredients again & lo and behold. barley malt#i have to laugh at how clueless people are about gluten sometimes though#like. ok everyone else was having cake & they wanted to get a dessert i could eat#so they bought 2 different candies#BOTH OF WHICH HAD GLUTEN#chocolate with barley malt is a completely understandable mistake but like. bro.... twizzlers???? 😂#theres an INGREDIENTS LIST did u not look at the INGREDIENTS LIST at ALL??#first ingredient: sugar. second ingredient: wheat flour#im not even mad. it's just funny at that point#this is why i dont let most people cook for me. if you were wondering.#i have yet to experience much in the way of Symptoms so im hoping this is only a Minor Glutening#2 chocolate eggs worth of barley malt cant be all that much right?#r.i.p my intestines tho. this is at least the 3rd time in like the past month#it'll be interesting to see if it shows up on my bloodwork in the fall#they only check once a year & no one really knows how long the numbers STAY up for after a reaction#anyway u can probably tell from my tags here but im at least not feeling the psychological distress this time#experienced the despair preemptively yesterday. i was prepared#personal

I did end up just putting it as back and white though but the color is just nice to have. One of the things i enjoy the most in fiction is when a character grasps the pen to control another's fate and brother mahoyaku is giving me this, i couldnt be happier
#im not insane there are metafictional themes#once i grasp what nova is and how he connects to the moon...#but i know for sure the moon likes to see trafic stories unfold#the fate the twins talk of myst also be connected to the moon if not the moon's decisions itself#regardless. that chapter with zara and gil has pleased me immensely#i need to go make dinner now but ill be mulling it over#rustica...oh i cant wait to read more later and tomorrow
