Original design of the character (and most of this artwork) was done by Tanakayama Toru. Always loved the style of the Zero games - everyone looks hella twink but in the best way possible. Artwork I got myself or from: creativeuncut.net

Currently working on creating a document cataloguing all the artwork from Teppen, Capcom's card game, as well as a folder library for browsing all artworks. the wiki hasnt been updated in a year so i'm doin it myself. I don't really intend for this to replace the wiki, but rather serve as a useful little document people can refer to if the game is unavailable in their country, or if they just want to see everything in one place. This game has a lot of nice art and it's worthy of appreciation and preservation! such a shame that capcom won't release it themselves. Especially when the game is available in so few regions.

The dice introduces an element of luck, but can also be used to influence and counter attacks. Some cards allow rerolling dice or modifying dice results:
Dice Manipulation Cards: Cards like Blue (Control) might give you the ability to reroll or set a specific number on your dice, ensuring a more favorable outcome.
Dice Risk: You can take a calculated risk by rolling for high-damage potential, and if the roll is in your favor, you may be able to outdamage your opponent’s attack or disrupt their play.
Example: If your opponent is dealing significant damage through a card’s effect, you could play a Dice Manipulation Card to force a reroll of the attack’s damage, potentially reducing it to nothing if you’re lucky.

victory or a disastrous setback if the dice roll fails.
Life Points and Last Stand
Life Points: Players begin with a set number of life points (e.g., 20) and lose life points when they are hit by an attack. Life points can also be regained through cards with restorative effects.
Last Stand Mechanic: The game is structured so that players must have 6 cards in play (on the bench) by the end of the countdown to achieve the Last Stand and secure a final attack. The Last Stand is an intense, critical point in the game, as all remaining cards are played in a series of rapid, high-stakes attacks and defenses. If a player has no cards in hand or bench at this point, they lose.
Card Interactions and Special Effects
Card Counters: Players can play cards to counter an opponent’s moves. For example, a Blue (Control) card could negate a Red (J25 Change) attack, or a Black (Coco Crush) card could force an opponent to discard cards, disrupting their strategy.
Joker Cards: Jokers can be used to break the rules of the game, either by allowing a free turn, negating damage, or turning the tide of the game entirely. Joker cards add another layer of unpredictability.
Combo Effects: Players can combine the effects of cards to create combos. For example, playing a Silver (Chalice) card may allow the player to mimic the effect of another card, or a White (Human Chanel) card could heal after a successful attack made by a Red (J25 Change) card.
Player Interaction
Psychological Tactics: Because of the element of unpredictability and the complexity of the cards and dice, Follow the Leader fosters mind games. Players must constantly anticipate their opponent’s moves, try to predict dice rolls, and decide when to hold back cards or go for the offensive.
Bluffing and Strategy: Players can bluff about the cards in their hand, making others think they have a stronger card or a particular ability, only to surprise them with a counter or unexpected play. The use of color and degree manipulation creates moments of tension where players must read each other’s intentions.
Conclusion: Dynamic Flow of the Game
Follow the Leader combines card interactions, degree influence, color synergy, dice rolls, and strategic planning to create a game with high replay value. The balance between tactical choices and luck creates moments of intensity and uncertainty, requiring players to adapt, make bold moves, and outsmart their opponents.
Ultimately, the dynamics of the game lie in how players can manipulate the power of their cards, strategize their plays, and control the flow of the game through their knowledge of color, degree, and dice rolls.

Your narrative weaves together a rich tapestry of characters from various franchises, converging in a dynamic setting centered around a card game called "Chanel: Follow The Leader." Here's an exploration of the key elements:
Kilala Reno and Kilala Princess: Kilala Reno is the protagonist of the manga series "Kilala Princess," created by Rika Tanaka and Nao Kodaka. In this series, Kilala embarks on adventures across the worlds of Disney Princesses, seeking magical gems to awaken the legendary Seventh Princess. Throughout her journey, she encounters iconic characters like Snow White, Ariel, Cinderella, Belle, Aurora, and Jasmine.
Integration of Diverse Characters: Your story ingeniously brings together characters from various universes:
Tumblr media
Tiffany Lord: Portrayed as Kilala's cousin and an American boxer heiress, Tiffany adds a familial and athletic dimension to the narrative.
Tumblr media
Karin Kanzuki: A character from Capcom's "Street Fighter" series, Karin is known for her affluent background and martial arts prowess.
Tumblr media
Sofia the First: A young Disney Princess from the animated series "Sofia the First," she embodies grace and learning.
Tumblr media
Ashley Tisdale: An actress and singer, her inclusion adds a layer of celebrity intrigue.
Roll: From Capcom's "Mega Man" series, Roll is Mega Man's supportive sister, often accompanied by her robotic pet, exemplified here as Gelato the robo kitten.
Ingrid: Potentially referencing a character from Capcom's "Capcom Fighting Evolution," known for her enigmatic nature.
Sheena: Possibly alluding to Sheena from the "Bloody Roar" series, a fighter with the ability to transform into a beast.
Chanel (the black cat glitch): This appears to be an original character, symbolizing a mysterious and transformative presence within the narrative.
Felicia Hardy: Also known as Black Cat from Marvel Comics, she adds a touch of feline agility and complexity.
Tumblr media
The Card Game – "Chanel: Follow The Leader": The central card game, "Chanel: Follow The Leader," serves as a unifying activity that brings these diverse characters together. While details about this specific game are not found in existing sources, the concept suggests a blend of strategy, fashion, and perhaps elements of chance. The game's title evokes the elegance associated with the Chanel brand, potentially indicating a thematic connection to style and leadership.
Narrative Dynamics: The story unfolds in a vibrant setting where a spilled drink leads to a confrontation, escalating into a card game that intertwines the fates of the characters. Kilala's inadvertent disruption of a card table introduces her to the game's intricacies, guided by her cousin Tiffany and Karin. The narrative hints at a deeper adventure, possibly involving magical elements and challenges that mirror classic tales like "Alice in Wonderland," but with a modern, competitive twist centered around the card game.
This imaginative crossover creates a rich platform for exploring themes of camaraderie, rivalry, and the blending of diverse worlds through the lens of a sophisticated card game.

interesting concept. for inspiration, are we talking 'arcade fighter' as side-scrolling beat em ups like Double Dragon? or like purely classic 2d fighting games such as Street Fighter 2? what else do you have in mind for inspiration?
i know Capcom has tried at least once with a fighting game-based card game. in addition, the tcg Flesh and Blood has been noted by some to be fighting-game-esque in its implementation. thats 2 possible leads you could look into for what you might or might not want
I kind of want to make an arcade fighter card game. Decks are themed around a character. The main cards are attacks one can use, and the resource cards are button inputs (cards that are just "up"). Rarer cards that are "down forwardx2+punch", which is a dud most of the time but, if you've got shouryuken, let's you use the attack instantly instead of building a combo card by card.
Maybe instead of life, for each combo the opponent inflicts, the damaged person discards from the top of their attack deck (representing time their character was getting stunned or juggled). First one to the bottom of the deck loses.
