Sketch dump! I havent done one of those in a while. These are all from June-July while I was on vacation.
First we have Layal! The delightful Mother of Monsters, aka the Ghost Zone’s most evil mama bear AND my take on a fem!danyal dan! I like to imagine she could pummel Dan into the ground, but that stands true for any and all of my au Dans. Bc i am INCREDIBLY biased.
She mostly lives on her island in the Ghost Zone, taking in monsters of the Infinite Realms of all kind and raising them as her own. Surprisingly enough, she does genuinely love her children. That’s about where her love ends. She stole the minotaur, his name is Asterion.

Then we have Daini-Yel! He’s from an au i’ve never actually talked about on here. He’s literally just Danny for an Epic!-inspired au. He's an unknown entity in the newly released open-adventure, odyssesy-inspired game "Nautilus", and he is not a part of the game's code :). He showed up three months after the game's initial launch, and was discovered during a live when a streamer was on their way to fight a boss much similar to Circe and the streamer accidentally took a detour and found his pathway (of which did not previously exist).
He's very friendly! And offers you, the Captain, a strange liquid with even stranger powers called "Ektolai", in order to help you fight Circe. His whole vibe and creation is literally just the song "Wouldn't You Like" from Epic. If you run into him enough times at the start of the game, you can convince him to join you on your adventure as part of the crew. He's a powerful ally and a very good friend, despite his strange awareness of the world around him...
Oh, but be warned... just like the rest of your companions, your actions have consequences and what you do affects their opinion of you. Daini is no different! Your close allies can quickly become enemies.

nowhere town, nowhere
1k of price brainrot, no warnings
I had a deep, urgent, need to expand on a brain worm where Price buys a remote plot of land to "get away from the world". All he really wanted was one rustic cabin he could fix up. A place he could drop in and live in for a while when he needed wanted, rent out when he didn't. The more rustic the better.
No electricity. No running water. No cell service.
Thank god.
Tumblr media
What he ends up with is several cabins - most in good enough condition for immediate residence - a private lake, and a long, rough road that the man selling calls "a right pain in the arse to keep clear".
"Hope ye' ain't aimin' t' make a livin' off 'em," the old man said bitterly, handing John the massive ring of keys.
"Why's that?" he asked brusquely, pretending to be engrossed in flipping through the keys. Some look brand new, metal winking bright and shiny, teeth barely dulled. A few look like they've seen a century or more. Large, heavy things. Their color long dulled and pitted red with rust.
"Not much livin' t' make," he responded dryly, cold, shaking hands shoved roughly into his coat pockets. He leaned to the side, eyeing the old, beat up, pick up puttering in the driveway as it warmed up. He's clearly ready to have this deal done and sealed.
"Maybe durin' the summer y' ken make a bit o' profit. If ye' get the right crowd. People wantin' t' get away from the city fer a bit. Fishermen, hunters, the like." He pulled out a cigarette and lit up. He left John to stew in his thoughts while he pulled a long drag. It was only after the old man finally blew out his breath, acrid smoke hanging in the cold air between them, that he continued.
"Dries up pretty quick 'round here after summer," he said staring out the window. A gust of wind fluttered a few fallen leaves down the gravel path. Acorns thumped dully against the roof above, clattering as they rolled down the shingles and into the dilapidated gutter. "Not many people live in town year-round. Even less in out 'round here."
"Won't ask yer business," he said shuffling his cigarette to the corner of his mouth as he rummaged the pockets of his well-worn coat, "but if ye' plan on doin' any work, would plan it out a few months 'n advance. Material bein' expensive an' all these days. Good luck gettin' anyone fer labor. Won't show up even if y' pay well. With the trades, doan be surprised if-"
John let the old man prattle on, fully dropping his attention from the conversation in favor of shuffling through the keys in his hand again. He planned to spend the rest of his day (whenever that was) checking out the buildings. He wanted to inspect them for damage, decide if they were worth repairing or tearing down. Later he would have to decide how much he could realistically maintain on his own.
He wasn't as young as he once was. The active military life had clearly taken it's toll. Pain had begun to seep into his joints. He felt that, not too long ago, he could go all day. The prospect of climbing up on top of roofs and crawling around dusty barns was no longer exciting. Soreness in the tendons of his legs were beginning to plague him after just the short tour he had done with the former owner earlier in the day.
"I'll leave y' to et then," the man said, breaking John out of his wandering thoughts. He absently tossed the butt of his cigarette to the floor, squashing it with the toe of his boot. He offered John his hand, which he accepted.
"Best of luck," he said as their hands broke apart.
"You as well," John responded, opening the door for the old man.
He stood there and watched with something of a duty as the former owner shuffled down the path to his truck, John's money carefully tucked inside his coat. When he had finally backed out onto the road, his rattling muffler fading away fast, John let out a long breath. The day was fading fast, and he had much to do. Just unloading his things and cleaning this mess of a home the old man had lived in for god knows how long would occupy him until nightfall.
He sighed, pulling out his phone. He did have three solid, dependable guys he could call on. He knew they weren't busy and wouldn't mind a few days of hard work in exchange for a place to stay.
It was worth a shot.
He swept the butt of the cigarette out the door with the side of his boot. The whole place needed a good sweeping. With how thick the cobwebs hung to the plaster, most dark with soot, he considered sweeping the walls too. Then there was everything else: the bathroom to clean, windows to wash, wood to chop, light bulbs to replace, a furnace and water heater to inspect . . . and that was all just for one building. He now owned several.
He threw the keys down on the cluttered little table in the kitchen next to the overflowing binder full of years of ad-hoc maintenance notes, receipts for new appliances, scrawling, handwritten notes on how to get the old snowmobile in cabin 5 running. He tried to dial out for a hot minute before he realized with a huff oh yeah, no service.
John tucked his phone back in his pocket and walked out to his car. He had supplies to pick up in town anyway. He could call there. As the engine turned over he shot a hard look out the front windshield at the dilapidated old cabin he now owned, for better or worse.
He raked his hands over his eyes, letting out an audible groan. What had he gotten himself into? Pulling out of his temporary pity party, he threw the truck in reverse, leaning around to watch himself back out around the grown-in trees.
As he rumbled down the wet gravel road toward the tiny shred of civilization that passed for a town in this remote place, he really really hoped at least one of his team would take up his offer. While he was a man of preparing for the worst case scenario, he didn't want to think on that. Not yet. Didn't want to fail either.
He had thrown a good chunk of his savings into this gamble. If he did fail, if he had to sell the property at a loss, he knew he would survive. His thoughts drifted back to earlier when he was ruminating on getting older. How much longer could he survive active duty? Five? Ten, if he was lucky? How much longer until he was "promoted" into a less active roll? Or worse, "encouraged to retire". Then he would be forced to live on a rubbish military pension and whatever else he could scrape together.
His hands tightened on the steering wheel, knuckles going white. No. That wouldn't happen. He would make a go of this. He . . . him and his team, they would succeed. They always did.

More edits(?)! This time focused on Genis-Vell's resurrected design. Being cloned through questionable means I feel would leave some evidence...
Panels are from Captain Marvel vol. 11 #33 & 36, Genis-Vell: Captain Marvel # 1 & 5, and Captain Marvel Vol. 12 #1-2
