Oh, that's actually a great question! "wotunciba" is just the pinyin of my Chinese nickname "我豚糍粑" (wǒ tún cí bā).

❓Breaking it down:

"wo" (我) = "my" or "I" "tun" (豚) = capybara! 🫶 (because I love them) "ci ba" (糍粑) = a delicious Chinese sticky rice cake

Now, the reason for this specific combo is a little tricky to explain in English… It's actually a play on words based on a Chinese phrase "我佛慈悲" (wǒ fó cí bēi), which means "My Buddha is merciful." But since "cí bēi" (merciful) sounds similar to "cí bā" (sticky rice cake), I swapped it!

There's also a fun meme in Chinese where if you really love something, you can say you've "joined its cult" by adding "门" (mén) = "gate/sect" at the end. Sooo, since I love capybaras, I could say I'm part of "豚门" (Tún mén)" = "Capybara Sect". That's why I replaced "fo (佛; Buddha)" with "tun (豚; capybara)".

❓For pronunciation, think of it like this:

wo = "wuh" (like "what" without the "t") tun = "tune" but with a short "oo" sound ci = "tsih" (like "ts" in "cats" + a short "ih") ba = "bah" (like "bah-humbug" but softer)

Innn a sense yeah. I hc Shamura as aroace so Goat’s Shamura’s Thorjulbre equivalent would end up becoming their most trusted friend or probably queerplatonic partner instead!

Though currently unlike Narinder and Thorjulbre, Goat’s release of all the Bishops happened only recently before they interacted with Lamb. Goat’s Shamura both hasn’t had the time to settle and didn’t get the alone time like Narinder did to process everything that happened before being reunited with their siblings again. So it’s a lot more hostile at the moment for Goatverse and they’re not quite friends with their self assigned guy yet

Currently Capybara with no name I’ll think of one eventually. Wanted to spin what NariThor have (mammal and insect) with Shamura and their equivalent

For Ratonhnhaké:ton, it would be when he first sees Aquila. He would be walking back to the manor and find Desmond following him. He’s never seen a capybara before but it seemed friendly enough and had went on his hind legs, raising his front legs as if to ask for Ratonhnhaké:ton to pick him up. Ratonhnhaké:ton does and he brings him to Achilles who admits to not knowing what Desmond is, only that ‘it’ usually stays inside the wreckage of the Aquila. Faulkner would probably have more information so Achilles suggested that Ratonhnhaké:ton talk to him (but also to not get distracted by the ‘rodent’, cue Desmond glaring at him) but Faulkner only knows as much as Achilles as the ‘thing’ appeared one day and never left until he followed Ratonhnhaké:ton anyway. At least, Faulkner was able to tell Ratonhnhaké:ton what Desmond likes to eat. Desmond spends most of his time in the manor and served more as a companion to Achilles who always gives him something to eat whenever Ratonhnhaké:ton is gone.

For Ezio, Desmond would actually be a gift from Machiavelli. A strange gift with Machiavelli saying “He reminds me of you” which Ezio and Desmond still aren’t sure if it’s meant to be a complement or not. Regardless, Desmond becomes the unofficial mascot of the Italian Brotherhood and is super spoiled by the other recruits. Claudia also teases her brother that Desmond (and Ezio didn’t know why he named the animal Desmond, it just seemed right) is the only child that Ezio would accept officially. It’s all said in jest as Ezio has no idea if he has any illegitimate children running around. (Claudia doesn’t believe it, Ezio is more on the fence, Machiavelli says the only way Ezio wouldn’t have any unknown children is if he can’t have children at all). So Desmond is treated like the mentor’s child more than pet and everyone spoils on him. Then Leonardo meets him and… Desmond began to appear in Leonardo Da Vinci’s works and sketches.

Altaïr would meet Desmond during his travels to one of his mission. A small pond or lake that he stopped by to let the horse rest. Altaïr would find Desmond flopping around the bank and they would stare at each other for a moment before Altaïr would turn around to ignore him. Desmond would probably be offended and ‘run’ after him, his feet making wet squishy sounds against the ground. Desmond would grab hold of the reins of Altaïr’s horse or maybe his robes and wouldn’t let go. Altaïr has no time to deal with this kind of tomfoolery but he couldn’t just kill this creature since it wasn’t dangerous. Annoying, sure. But innocent nonetheless. ……… and that is how… Altaïr finally manages to turn Malik speechless when he brings the creature with him to the bureau, letting the creature rest in his arms. Oh. And the creature waved at Malik and Malik was simply too confused that he instinctively waved back.

How do K'laxi and AI(human AI) naming conventions work?

K'laxi have a lot of apostrophes in their name, think of them like glottals. Instead of saying Klaxi, say K (tiny and I mean tiny pause) laxi. They tend to be two syllables and the second syllable can (though not always) denotes familial line.

Ta'reni Da'reni Ma'reni Are all female K'laxi that are part of the 'reni line. Theirs came from the Southern part of their home planet. It's warmer there, not quite tropical since K'lax doesn't have much in the way of tropics. Han'iel Zel'iel Don'iel

Are all male K'laxi that are part of the 'iel line. They're more centrally located on the main continent, and tend to be more introverted.

Those are only two examples too, just like humans, K'laxi names are varied and numerous. You might notice Ma-ren from BtBaG, she grew up on a refugee station, so her name doesn't follow the same conventions. Doesn't make her any less K'laxi (though some planetary K'laxi might have Opinions About That) AIs get to name themselves. So there's no real convention. The oldest ones are the ones with human names since they lived among humans on Earth before we got Way Up Into Space. They also love puns and will absolutely take a name that is an eye rolling pun. Feel free to go nuts with AI names.

It's a Rhea, a bird from South America, Ñandú in spanish. I usually identify a lot with some birds and/or mustelids/. But I asked a friend once what animal he associated me with that wasn't my usual animals of choice (swans, mongooses, mustelids, some extint animals), and he inmediatly answered a Ñandú. I common joke I have is that "my gender is -insert animal-", pretty much like that Nimona quote "I'm not a girl, i'm a shark!".

Well, that feels pretty accurate for me! lol
