Bucky crossed his arms over his chest and furrowed his eyebrows as he looked at the computer monitor in front of them. This isn’t what he was hoping for. This was all shaping up to be way more complicated than he signed up for, but they were too deep in it to pull out now.

Bucky rubbed at his eyes before letting his hands drop down into his lap. They should call it a night. Take a break from this extraction and do something else. Like sleep. Though looking over at Sharon, it seemed she was ready for anything but. Grabbing the nearby bag of candy corn, he held one between thumb and index finger, lining up his shot before flicking the candy at Sharon from across the room. It beamed her in the shoulder. Score: 1 to zip.

“Hey, we’re running low on sugar. And whatever it is that sustains you--caffeine? White spandex? Gallons of bleach in order to keep those whitey-whites white?--whatever, there’s a 24-hour Wally World next town over. Should give us good time to stretch our legs and refuel.”

       “ i know, you’re always saying you’re too busy and i know i’m always too busy, so i did this. ” he stood there in his office, a stupid smile on his face after he lured her here. he even found a suit that wasn’t completely mismatched, thanks to colleen’s help. there was a folding table in the middle of his office, the same chinese food he always brought her, laid out in what he assumed was fancy. 

       “ i’m assuming this is what fancy people do, anyway. i don’t really know. i usually eat pizza and chinese food with a house full of heroes, so i’m not sure what people do on dates. ”
