Cauis had been courting you ever since your coven had been invited to an annual ball held in Volterra. He was intimidating, yes, however you soon began to see past the reputation he made for himself. 

He taught you how to paint, with many snarky, yet adoring, comments, while you’d try to teach him how to crochet.

‘I am a man of many talents, dear y/n, but crochet will never be one of them.’

Aro and Marcus would tease that you melted his icy barriers, however he hadn’t changed. He chose to let you see past his reputation, and you knew that, which made you love him more.

A month into the courting process, you began to rent a small cottage within the village of stunning Volterra, which you grew very attached to.

The garden was surrounded by high fences, and no neighbours so you, despite your vampiric sparkle, could garden to your heart’s content, and bask in the heat of the Italian sun.

One night, after returning from Fortezza Volterra, you went to read in your small bedroom, and an unfinished painting lounged on the bed, to your surprise.

It was a portrait of your lover, Cauis, however it looked like he stopped half way through.

A scrawl (though you could hardly call it that, because Cauis took pride in his perfect handwriting, and you just knew he wrote in his favourite calligraphy set,) sat perfectly in the blank space, in his handwriting.

‘To you, I trust my unpolished heart.’

Your heart swelled, despite being unbeating, and you held it close. You wanted to cry tears of joy for the man you loved. You also just knew, gestures like that from men like him meant something monumental.

After you replaced the mirror above your fireplace with it, you ran through the dark nights of Volterra to see your love, Cauis.

I have a request for Twilight! The reader is human and is dating Caius Volturi. She suffers from bad anxiety and Caius is aware of it. One day, he was having a bad day and accidentally takes it out on the reader after she tries to cheer him up. He snaps at her with awful words and scares the reader. Not realizing his actions, he walks away like nothing happened. A bit scared of him, she keeps her distance. She tells Jane about it and it made Jane upset. She confronts Caius and tells him off.

Caius Volturi x anxious!Reader:

You were already a nervous wreck today, moreso than ever. Your nerves were just acting up and you didn’t know why. Perhaps it was just the feeling of something bad was going to happen today. You just weren’t sure what. You saw your usual scowly boyfriend-mate. You smiled at him and joined him by his side. You greeted him and grunted. You took it his usual self and chattered away, feeling much better talking to him.

“Do you ever stop talking?!”

You shut up and wrung your hands together as Cauis ripped you a new one. Your ears not believing what they were hearing. Tears were welling up as it was getting hard to breathe. “S-sorry!” You squeaked out before quickly turning away from him and going to your room.

Cauis walked off from the situation and rolled his eyes.

As days had passed, he saw less of you. It felt like you were avoiding him which hurt him. The side affects of your mate distancing themselves were starting to show. He didn’t even notice the other angry blonde walking towards him.

“Master Cauis, I expected better from you.”

“What do you want Jane?”

“I want you to apologize to (y/n) she told me what all happened. You’re utterly so disrespectful to someone who’s shown you nothing but love. What did you do to deserve such a sweet soul?” Jane paused. “I suggest you talk to her before you lose her.” Jane walked off, wishing she could use her powers without consequences.

Cauis felt anger then shitty. Of course that would explain it all. He was just having a bad day that day, he didn’t realize how scared you must’ve been. He sighed as he went to find you.

You were silent as he entered your room. You tense up as he hugs you. It was rare that he initiated contact, you slowly hugged back.

“Forgive me for being an absolute fool.” Cauis started. “I wasn’t thinking about you were feeling and only about myself. I shouldn’t have taken my bad day out on you, and I’m terribly sorry that I caused you that pain love.”

You sniffled. A sincere and rare apologize plus a a nice and tight hug. “You’re forgiven, but!” You paused as you nuzzled into him. “You have to promise to talk out your bad days with me. So you won’t hold it anymore.”

Cauis kisses you passionately. “Anything for you. I promise to do it. I don’t ever want to hurt you again.”

You smile at him. “Good.”
