Internally screeching with rage because the seizure first aid course I'm doing online is broken. I did not just spend the past 1-2 hours working on this to be stopped halfway through because I can't find the button to continue.
I need to go eat a snack and cool off so I can fix this.

Disneyland Secret #400
One of the rarer buttons to get at Disneyland is Honorary Citizen one. This is a button that can be given out my any cast member but cannot be requested. It is entire;y up to the cast member to give out a button like this, and will often do it based on some sort of interaction they see from the guest themselves. The certificate is even more rare as not every cast member has access to it, but is given out very similarly to the button.

Reach the Peak of Dive Leadership: What the Course Director Program Offers to Seasoned Scuba Professionals
In the world of scuba diving, few roles carry as much prestige, responsibility, and influence as that of a Course Director. This elite level of training is reserved for dive professionals who have not only mastered the craft of diving instruction but are ready to lead the instructors themselves—setting the tone for how future generations of divers are trained around the world.
The Course Director Course is the highest professional rating in the PADI system and represents a profound leap into the heart of dive education. It’s where educational excellence meets real-world leadership. Let’s explore what makes this course so essential for those looking to become key figures in the diving industry.
Tumblr media
What Is a Course Director?
A Course Director is a PADI professional authorized to conduct and manage Instructor Development Courses (IDCs). In other words, Course Directors train the trainers. They shape the future of scuba instruction by mentoring instructor candidates and ensuring that high standards of safety, professionalism, and educational effectiveness are maintained across the board.
Course Directors are often seen leading educational programs at top-tier dive resorts, managing international training centers, and speaking at global dive conferences. It’s a role that combines deep technical expertise, advanced teaching ability, and organizational leadership.
Why Pursue the Course Director Rating?
The decision to pursue this top-tier qualification isn’t just about career advancement—though that’s certainly part of it. It’s about making an impact.
Here’s what becoming a Course Director unlocks:
Global recognition as one of the top educators in the scuba community.
The ability to run IDCs, qualifying you to train the next generation of instructors.
Leadership in curriculum development, allowing you to refine and innovate teaching practices.
Career growth at dive centers, marine organizations, and resorts seeking high-level educators.
Influence in shaping diving culture, including sustainability, inclusion, and safety standards.
What You’ll Learn in the Course Director Course
This program is a full-spectrum training experience that goes far beyond basic instruction. Designed for experienced dive educators, the course is structured around several core themes:
Advanced Instructional Techniques
Learn how to train instructor candidates using sophisticated educational strategies. From delivering engaging presentations to managing classroom and open water sessions, you’ll master every aspect of adult dive education.
Curriculum & Program Development
You’ll study how to design and refine effective training programs. This includes customizing IDCs, evaluating performance metrics, and implementing teaching best practices.
Instructor Candidate Evaluation
Get trained in fair and effective evaluation methods. This includes assessing dive knowledge, teaching skills, and decision-making during both confined water and open water sessions.
IDC Management
Master the logistical and administrative components of running an IDC. You'll explore course scheduling, candidate documentation, evaluation standards, and how to maintain consistency across programs.
Leadership & Mentorship
Develop the soft skills that make a great educator—empathy, communication, and team-building. Learn how to motivate others, foster a growth mindset, and serve as a mentor to instructors-in-training.
Where It Happens: Training in Beautiful Dive Destinations
The Course Director Course is typically hosted at premier training centers located in tropical dive hotspots. This means your learning experience is set against a backdrop of vibrant coral reefs, clear blue waters, and marine biodiversity—an environment that’s both enriching and inspiring.
Training is delivered by highly experienced Course Directors and educational consultants, many of whom have decades of experience in dive education and program management. You’ll be mentored in small groups, gaining personalized feedback and real-time support.
Who Can Apply?
The Course Director Course has strict eligibility criteria to ensure that only the most qualified professionals participate. Candidates should:
Hold the Master Instructor rating.
Have a strong teaching record with multiple student certifications.
Be in good standing with the PADI system.
Demonstrate professional conduct and commitment to dive education.
A formal application and selection process is often required, including an evaluation of teaching history and professional references.
Career Opportunities After Certification
With a Course Director rating, you gain access to a global network of career opportunities. You can:
Open or manage your own IDC center
Lead instructor programs at luxury resorts or marine research bases
Collaborate with diving equipment manufacturers, tourism boards, or NGOs
Mentor future Course Directors, playing a direct role in shaping professional standards
Course Directors are seen not only as educators but as ambassadors for the diving profession, trusted to uphold the values of safety, environmental stewardship, and community leadership.
Why This Course Is More Than Just Professional Growth
Beyond the credentials and career advantages, becoming a Course Director offers a chance to leave a legacy. Every instructor you train, every diver they certify, carries a piece of your leadership forward.
You’ll be at the forefront of a profession built on passion, adventure, and environmental connection—helping ensure that scuba diving continues to thrive in an ever-changing world.
Final Thoughts: The Ultimate Role in Dive Education
If you've reached a point in your dive journey where you're not just teaching but envisioning how diving should be taught, the Course Director Course is your next step. It’s where experience meets vision. Where leadership becomes legacy.
For seasoned instructors ready to lead on a global stage, this course offers the structure, mentorship, and platform to do exactly that.

Preparing for Your ASA Certification: What to Expect
Tumblr media
Embarking on an ASA certification journey is an exciting step on your way to becoming a competent and confident sailor. To make the most of your training, preparation is the key. Here's what you can expect from your ASA Basic Sailing Certification course and how to prepare. The first step is to get familiar with the course materials. Clearly, ASA provides candidates with study guides and textbooks that treat related theory and terminology. You will want to look these over before your class even begins, and this will give you a nice point of reference, leaving you confident within the classroom itself. If possible, then start practicing some basic concepts of sailing. For example, even if you are a total novice, try to get on a boat-any boat, anywhere - be it with a friend or through your local sailing club-to put a more experiential understanding of the theory that you will be learning under your belt. Your training will be a mix of in-class instruction and on-the-water practice. Courses are designed to be progressive in nature, with knowledge built over time; hence, do not worry if some concepts seem hard to grasp in the beginning. After all, actually doing things is real. You will apply what you learn right away as you go onto the water under the tutelage of a qualified instructor. And lastly, be open to learning and always ask questions. ASA certifications are not only about picking up practical skills but also gaining water confidence, so make full utilization of the expertise availed to you.
