All of the charms are finally here!! The yellow floppy charms turned out the best honestly 🥺 unfortunately, there might be some delay with the yellow floppy disk charms because the clasps haven’t arrived yet (I ordered them a month ago) but I’m doing my best to get them soon!

hi! i hope you're doing well. is there a ref sheet you have anywhere showing how the rothsraine uniform works? specifically which section of the capelet the jacket sleeves & cloak connect to. it would help with fanart, and no promises but if cosplay is ever on the table it'd be a fun challenge.

Hey! So I don't currently have a finished up-to-date ref sheet/model sheet, the ones I do have don't show what you're wanting to see and are a bit old! So, since I've been meaning to replace them, I decided to let your ask push me to start on that lol.

I can go ahead and give you these sketches for the time being that show the basic outfit component breakdown for Maia's. The sectioned duster and winged cloak are attached to a shrug-style jacket base. Beneath that, a standard button up and bottoms combo that wouldn't seem too out of place in any academy. The button ups have the school's emblem (or student's attunement) embroidered on its sleeve in the same color as the shirt, creating a subtle visible effect when catching the light. A completed version with more detailed reference will come a bit later to include details for the trim, the enchantment sigils, back views and other details. The Rothsraine uniform has several accepted alternate options accessible via its enchantments, as well, but for here's Maia's!

if you like slightly bigger chains i would go hardware store (you can get lengths cut from big rolls) and also pet stores (they have multiple sizes of dog chains)

and if you like smaller chains they sell rolls of em at craft stores that you can cut yourself at home.

I really wanna say something about the shape of Hidden Talons Snotlout's scale hide and how it changes over the course of the series because the brainrot I have for my own AU rn is insane.

Like, for the entirety of Riders of Berk and more than half of if not all of Defenders, it's basically just a big blanket. Big enough for Snotlout to wrap himself up in it, but no real way for him to keep it on his shoulders without holding it. Big, cumbersome, awkward, almost a burden to carry. It's easiest to carry when it's rolled/folded up, but Snotlout can't use it to transform until it's unfurled. It's inconvenient in so many ways, and just as likely to slip from Snotlout's shoulders as it is to catch on things on the ground, and Snotlout spends a lot of time fighting to get it rolled back up and out of the way. A burden he's not used to and not comfortable with.

And then by the time of Race to the Edge, it's a proper cloak with a clasp. It sits on his shoulders comfortably, easy to whip off but not likely to fall off. It's shorter, not catching on his surroundings when he walks. Comfortable, something Snotlout's used to and that he wears regularly, proudly, rocking it often all the way into the second movie.

Just. the way the hide starts out as an awkward blanket and then evolves into a more comfortable cloak as Snotlout himself gets more comfortable with being a dragon,,,, AUGH

The way he's not but then he looks at her, and sees that she's okay, so at least momentarily, he is too. His eyes / expression just getting perpetually softer. And this is, I think, the one time in the season other than the stargaze "head on shoulder" touch that Rayla initiates in the whole season as well

But like - of course, he's not okay

And the final hesitation before he takes his hands - unclasping them, now 'stained' more than ever - and hugs her back, because he won't refuse her comfort

But it’s also even that, right? It comes down to “well, in that moment, what did he do?” Well in that moment, he took like a—I-I think the ingredient is a piece of a snake rattle [...] “He didn’t even kill it, it was already dead, it was already dead man, what did he do?” Well, I don’t know. He supported the system, so it is complex. It’s worth arguing about, a bit. There’s not a clear right or wrong. There are risks. There are long term consequences. Those are baked into it. But I don’t know. When—when it’s your Mom in trouble, what do you do? You do the dark magic! You save Mom, right? I do.
