LUSCA is a terrifying creature from the Caribbean folklore. It is usually depicted as gigantic half shark half octopus with many crazy tentacles. I think SYFY already made this move and it was terrible. . This is for Day 4 of Folklore & Fairytales challenge that I may or may not end up doing the entire month of April.

Day 4- Lusca The Lusca has been described in a variety of ways, some suggesting it’s merely a giant octopus that has been misidentified. Many others however, have described the Lusca as a half-shark, half-octopus hybrid monster. It has razor-sharp teeth and multi-suckered tentacles. It is said to be over 75 feet long, possibly growing as large as 200 feet in some cases. Day 16: Gashadokuro They are spirits in Japanese mythology, that take the form of giant skeletons and are fifteen times taller than an average person. They are created from the bones of people who died of starvation or in battle, without being buried. They room after midnight grabbing lone travelers and biting off their heads to drink their spraying blood. The victim would hear the sound of loud ringing in their ear as the Gashadokuro approached. 🔸 I had so much fun with this one! Day 29 - { Pesta } Pesta, an ashen-faced old woman, was the personification of the Black Death. A plague that nearly wiped 60 percent of the population in the 14th century. In Norwegian folktales she wears a red skirt and carries a broomstick or a rake depending upon ones fate. Going from town to town if one came upon Pesta with the rake in her hand, one knew their town was spared. However, if she began to sweep, then all who witnessed knew that no soul would be spared once she finished. I didn’t go as detailed as I would have liked, truthfully, but I plan on working on another. For now here is my vision of Pesta for the #folkloreandfairytales challenge. FAUN is a mythological half human half goat creature, sometimes considered a minor deity to the shepherds and farmers of certain regions, viewed as a protector and teacher that may bless the land and farm animals with fertility. I did this one as part of a monthly challenge thing, so I will (hopefully) be posting a new mythical creature each or every few days. It’ll be a good challenge I hope! This one is of the Kama itachi which translates to sickle weasel. These Japanese yokai have sickle like claws, as sharp as razors. Their fur is spiny like a hedgehog and they bark like a dog.
