Thinking about yogscast classpects from homestuck
Honeydew as a Heir of Blood. Inviting change through blood, blood being connections and leadership. "A Blood-bound can often be found on a sinking ship, forcing an endeavor forward with sheer stubborn force of will. No matter how bad things go, a Blood-bound can always count on friends and allies." If there is one thing Honeydew has, its friends, and leadership. Maybe not the most adept at it, but he can bring anyone together. And partnered up with xephos, can be a powerful force.
Lalna as Mage of Rage. Using is magical abilities and knowledge of rage to undo others, to drive people to conflict or to disperse arguments. Flaring up all sorts of issues between friends and enemies alike, but also knowing when to pull back. Truely an information gathering role, but extremely useful if you want to turn a Mob against their leader. Its purely self-beneficial, and gets him out of all sorts of scrapes by letting him know who he can trust, but also how to control his own rage and use it to win.
Xephos as the Prince of Space, Space is creation, propagation, transformation, literally size and velocity of objects. And a prince is a destroyer. Described as :"The Prince is literally simplified to one who destroys [aspect] or one who causes destruction through [aspect]" Causing destruction through space, the creation of new things that will ultimately destroy himself, others, and reality. But needing it to achieve his goals. Rather than the Classpect enabling growth for xephos, it enables his destructive tendencies. If he's not careful, he could doom their entire session
Barry as a Sylph of Time, why else is the tick speed so fast in Jaffa Factory 2? Sylphs are healers, either using their aspect or for their aspect. Since Barry would be able to manipulate time, he can speed it up or slow it down as they need. Need to stop time to save someones life? Barry's got you. Need to make a garden grow faster to feed a village? Barry can! Such an ability could be dangerous and extremely powerful, but its exactly what they need to make things go smoothly.
Pedguin as the Witch of Light. A witch manipulates their aspect, and in this case Light is knowledge, luck, fortune, awareness. Being able to manipulate that would be to change peoples knowledge or luck, use it to gain understanding of the world, or bring others to an understanding. He's got a whole wealth of information in front of him, he just needs to know how to uncover it.
Nanosounds is a Rogue of breath. Unlike the Theif, the Rogue uses their ability to give their aspect to others. Breath is freedom, wind, change, its something personal and deep, and she can use it to help others break free of patterns theyre trapped within. It gives her the freedom to explore and try new things, and best of all, fly.
Ravs as a Theif of Void. Not just as a fun solid snake reference, although it mostly is, Ravs would steal the void for himself. Void is mystery, obfuscation, darkness, its things unseen. Stealing the void for himself would let him hide unseen, and stealing it from others would reveal hidden evils to the world.
RT the Knight of Mind. Knights use their aspect to benefit others by any means. Protecting it and exploiting it to the best of their abilities. The mind is thoughts
Zoeya being Maid of Hope. A maid is descirbed as taking care of or tyding up their aspect, but i love the idea of the person being "made" of their aspect. Embodying it and what it stands for. Zoeya being the Maid of Hope lets her embody hope in any form. Its believing in yourself, your friendships, the world around you. Finding that one thing and using it to your advantage. She takes care of those around her and wants to support them, and that in turn makes her an incredibly powerful wielder of hope.
And Rythian as a Page of Heart. Pages are the one class with the most untapped potential. Rythian may be an accomplished and powerful wizard, but if theres one thing he might lack: its love for himself, and by extention others. Chronically lonely, but there is possibility to grow from here beyond what he is. Pages serve through and provide others with their aspect, and opening up to others, allowing himself to trust them, would grant them a powerful magical ally.
While ususual for these to appear in a normal session... Im making Ben a Lord of Life and Zylus a Muse of Doom
Lords and Muses are the most powerful classes in the game. But they require the biggest sacrifices.
To become a lord, you need to give everything. To be a Lord of Life, ben would have to know everything there is about life, work hard to be able to control it, and suffer greatly. Prehaps he has died before, and again, and again, knowing all the ways one can pass on, before he can understand how to bring life back again. He has complete control over others lives, but while he allows the ressurection of people through clones, he cannot interfere with them. By all means, ben can decide who lives and who dies in an instance, but such a choice comes with significant consequences.
To be a muse is to inspire, and Doom is fate and destruction. Inspiring others through their own fate, like an axe hanging over their heads. Zylus knows how things are going to go, but he is helpless to control it. All he can do is show people what their fate could be, a bleak view of the future. weather or not the others listen is up to them, and he needs to accept their decision. But, not all is lost, many find these glimpses into potential futures a great help, pointing them away from their destruction. Such a change bringing relief to Ben, who may be watching someone approach their death in great discomforting, knowing how it will feel when they die.
Overall, a pretty stacked session, with a high likelyness of falling to chaos unless they control one anothers vices.
#homestuck#yogscast#yogstuck#nilsey being a real life homestuck fan is my fav bit of silly trivia#also yes i did limit this to 12 so one for each aspect#send me asks and ill come up with some ideas for the others!!#I am completely ignoring the gendered side of classpects btw i think its one of the most ignored part of classpects by everyone lol#well... it is now anyway#i remember being a kid and it being important because that was during the time where#fan ocs HAD to be canon accurate#people care less now thankfully#I think im still a homestuck fan honestly even if i dont seriously engage with it#tempted to revisit the comic idk i feel nostalgic#also if yall want i have thoughts on the shipping quadrants irt yogsshipping#I wish sburb/sgrub was a TTRPG i would love that

Baulder's Gate 3 AU Halsin's Daughter: "Circle of Decay"
Description: All Faeryl wanted was her freedom – Her home was life was messy, abusive, and shrouded in secrecy. Being the bastard daughter of noble drow princess and an unknown father has caused the hierarchy in her house to become out of order. Because of this, she is treated like a house servant behind closed doors. However, in the public eye , she is one of the best escorts and spies of her Noble House. One day, during her older sister's engagement party, she finds out that her mother is selling her innocence to one of the highest bidders there. This causes her to spill wine on a guest, which in turn causes a downward spiral of events leading to her to run from the underdark. Once on the surface world, she makes her way towards Baulder's Gate where she meets Mol and Arabella. Two tieflings who work for “The Guild" doing their mercenary and heist jobs. The two take Faeryl under their wings and show her the ropes; they soon become and unstoppable team and are given a new mission: Kill the Eldest Son of House Vandree, Alistair, Faeryl's half brother. Unfortunately, the steps and misadventures needed in order to finish this mission push the girls to the edge as they struggle with reminants of their pasts.
Main Characters:
Faeryl:
Class: Druid / Circle of the Moon / Circle of Shadows
Race: Wood Elf / Drow
Age: 90 (ish)
Mol:
Class: Rogue / Theif / Assassin
Race: Tiefling
Age: 22
Arabella:
Class: Sorceress / Wild Magic / Shadow Magic
Race: Tiefling
Age: 20
Other Notes:
Faeryl is ( basically - even though she's hopping off the back of Halsin ) an OC - shes NOT cannon.
This takes place 10-ish years after the events of BG3
This is 100% a fan fiction and NOT cannon
This honestly started out with me making a character for my voice reel to practice - and what do you know Faeryl became a full fledge character in my head :')
The setting / events / information in this AU changes based off of new information I get on the main game - IT IS NOT A FINISHED WORK
Will I write out this fan fiction into an actual written series? Eventually - right now it's all out of order headcannons/ mainly because using my imagination to create this pulled me out of a deep depression (Lmao I almost went on a grippy sock vacation)
I currently have a rough draft written - it will take me forever but bear (lmao) with me
I know this doesn't get a lot of attention - I am screaming into a void - but I really do enjoy this AU I've created and if at least ONE other person enjoys it as well - I am happy.
The Links to everything are on my masterpost that is pinned to the top of my page! But I'll also link it below <3
Links:
Master Post -> ( Click Me )
All Content Page (holds every post regarding this AU) -> ( Click Me )
I'm also doing everything I can to make this accurate so if anyone has books / links / articles in regards to DND /BG3 please send them my way
Thanks <3

BECAUSE I GOT ASKED TO DO THEM ALL
1. A favorite character you have played.
Boyd Pengelly. He was a barbarian/rogue multiclass who used his Rage feature whenever he got angry enough. The unpredictability mixed with low expectations on his longevity was a great time.
2. Your favorite character that someone else has played.
This is a hard question to answer, and I don’t like playing favorites so here’s a top three:
@darien-king-of-synergy ‘s Trick, Gentleman Adventurer. Classy theif with the cane and suit to back it up.
@krakenattack ‘s Lieklo, the nerdiest dragon
@graspingeden ‘s Avery Holimon, the sweetest silver dragon to soar the friendly skies
3. Your favorite side quest.
Anytime Lord Baron Rikshaw, Kobold Nobleman kidnaps my players with the assistance of Mr McKemby and Pent, a winged kobold and kenku cleric of Pelor. Grand Budapest styled shenanigans ensue.
4. Your current campaign.
I’ve created a loose one shot system with a hub world called the University of Corcyra Isle. The idea is a sphinx teacher organizes a school of magic to learn through space and time with the assistance of all kinds of strange teachers. I can’t wait for them to meet my mindflayer humanist.
5. Favorite NPC.
That’s a tough question that changes day to day so I’m gonna talk about one of my favorites I haven’t before: Isarthi
Isarthi is a mindflayer humanist living in a colony deep in the underdark. She sees humanoid creatures like we would see a bunny or dog: adorable but also pretty dumb. She wants to uninslave the humanoids in the colony but its a radical idea that isn’t taking hold anytime soon. For now she ushers them about in secret, offering biology lessons where sometimes her papers mix with her Dungeons and Dryads character sheets (a game she is fully willing to play with your characters).
6. Favorite death (monster, player character, NPC, etc).
That’s hard because as I’ve continued, I don’t like death in my D&D. I used to let it happen pretty consistently but its a story telling element I don’t like using unless its really the best way to tell the story.
That being said, I do have one character planned. Tieflings have a Ritual of the Returned, you can petition to have a Tiefling returned from the hells under a specific contract. One tiefling thought he was clever and his contract states that he will only be returned if he plays a song so beautiful that it makes a dragon cry.
Avery is a silver dragon who will find him freezing on the mointaintops. Eventually he falls in love with her, and she persuades him to give up his grasp on this unlife, and elevates his soul to heaven. In his acceptance of this he plays a song to Avery, thanking her and coming to terms with his death, and that song brings Avery to tears completing his contract.
7. Your favorite downtime activity.
Making magic items yo
8. Your favorite fight/encounter.
I made a swamp on wooden catwalks and put a black dragon in the water beneath them, 10/10 would recommend.
9. Your favorite thing about D&D.
The interactive part. My players have such a sway over the story, I really just direct them and they lovingly contribute so much to the world they’re in.
10. Your favorite enemy and the enemy you hate the most.
I love myconids, their ressurrection spore makes any D&D creature into a clicker from last of us
My least favorite enemy is the zombie beholder from 5e. I’ve seen them outright kill two players in one shot (I was one of the two) and the level of power they have is extreme for the challenge rating they hold.
11. How often do you play and how often would you ideally like to play?
In person? Rarely. Its mostly over text and even then its not as much as I’d like to with job searching.
12. Your in game inside jokes/memes/catchphrases and where they came from.
So in one session we split the party to break into a house. Me and my friend Tanner were roof team: our job was to wait on the roof for the party could come up so I could polymorph into a dragon and fly us away (something I didn’t realize you couldn’t do).
Instead of staying on the roof, roof team went to the first floor, drank poisoned alcohol, and vomited everywhere escaping as a drunken dragon.
ROOF TEAM
13. Introduce your current party.
I have a lot of students but I can introduce my antihero party! Its my Suicide Squad of morally gray characters
Boyd Pengelly: angry criminal from the city. Acting on impulse got him here and it sure isn’t bringing him anywhere else so why not.
Henrietta Lynch: in Barlowe Landing, her werewolf sister fatally wounded a boy she was seeing. A witch in the woods gave her a bad spell and now she has a zombie ex boyfriend she’s lugging around. At first she thought he was alive incorrectly. As he rots away shes slowly coming to terms with what she did.
Brass: Ex soldier of Vollenth’s military, Brass defected during a war march and works as a hitman or hired muscle. His aim with a crossbow is remarkable and he’s sure to let you know that. He defected from Vollenth’s army to be a free man only to realize there was nothing of him left.
Tiamir: A dragonborn who grew up a servant of red dragons, she stole the rite of being Tiamat’s Paladin from the family’s hatchling, and enforced Tiamat’s ideaology of might makes right wherever she goes.
14. Introduce any other parties you have played in or DM-ed.
One time I played in a session where we had:
Bird police (me)
Russian dwarf cleric
Necromancer
Barbarian vampire person who hisses a lot
15. Do you have snacks during game times?
Oh for sure. Clean snacks that don’t make crumbs are best. Frozen pizzas work great, you can make a bunch and cut them up into squares.
16. Do you play online or in person? Which do you prefer?
I’ve really been enjoying the amount of control playing over text gives me, though that has its limits when it comes to complex combat
17. What are some house rules that your group has?
Don’t be rude
No rape. Find a different way to tell your story.
18. Does your party keep any pets?
Once they had a gryphon hatchling
19. Do you or your party have any dice superstitions?
There’s a set of pink dice @darien-king-of-synergy owns that have killed two PC’s and a whole campaign but give him nothing but high rolls
20. How did you get into D&D? How long have you been playing?
I’ve been playing for 6 years now, my friends in college got me into it. I made a gnome atheist who disowned the gods when his gelatinous ooze cube was slaughtered.
21. Have you ever regretted something your character has done?
Once Boyd alerted the entire area with a nat 1 on stealth I RP’d by getting spooked and punching a man in the face. I probably should’ve let the DM decide what happened there
22. What color was your first dragon?
Crudak! My copper baby. A desert shopkeep who’s quite excitable and quite a fast talker.
23. Do you use premade modules or original campaigns?
Nope! I make all my own.
24. How much planning/preparation do you do for a game?
Usually 3-4 hours for one shots. Over text I make an outline and follow through as necessary.
For DMs
25. What have your players done that you never could have planned for?
One of my players romanced a dragon NPC and that changed everything
26. What was your favorite scene to write and show your characters.
The hatching of a baby gold dragon in the middle of a city, which the players had to smuggle through said city
27. Do you allow homebrew content?
Yes as long as its to have fun not to break the game
28. How often do you use NPCs in a party?
In online or in person? Almost never. In one on one I pair you with an NPC that rounds you out.
29. Do you prefer RP heavy sessions or combat sessions?
RP heavy for sure!
30. Are your players diplomatic or murder hobos?
They better not be murder hobos
For Players
31. What is your favorite class? Favorite race?
Warlock has the coolest options
Human, funny enough. I find human PC’s bring out their character more than other races do.
Under that is dragonborn for fire breathing.
32. What role do you like to play the most? (Tank/healer/etc?)
Magic support or heavy beater. Once I had paladin’s divine smite, barbarian’s reckless attack, and fighter’s improved critical all on the same attack
33. How do you write your backstory, or do you even write a backstory?
I make the character and whatever backstory is necessary to understand the character! I used to write long backstories but now I’m more involved with the role playing aspect.
34. Do you tend pick weapons/spells for being useful or for flavor?
FLaVoR
35. How much roleplay do you like to do?
All roleplaying all the time

Can I have a session analysis? It consists of an anxious but helpful Rogue of Light, a depressed but sweet Sylph of Life, an overemotional but selfless Maid of Space, an angry but loyal Prince of Time, and a confrontational but logical Thief of Heart.
You have both cardinal aspects
You have a slight preference for active classes
You have a strong preference for positive aspects
You do not have any repeated classes or aspects
Huh, those bullets look kindof like my last one. But hheeey, thanks for the ask! This looks like a prettyinteresting session, and at a glance I think that the thief is probably goingto be pulling this session into motion and taking leadership rolls; by thesound of the personalities, the group will do well emotionally supporting each otherand working as a team but that might take up a lot of their time and energythat could have been spent “better” planning out the final battle and howthey’re all going to get there.
Maid of space
Maids of space are very, veryuseful to have, and as long as she progresses well she should be great she willbe a loyal force that could easily turn the tides of a battle with her powers. At first she might be quite reliant on the group, as maids often are. She getsoffended and upset over petty drama easily and cares about her friends a lot-maybe a little too much, to the pointthat she might become quite stuck on one thing. It is after entering the gamewhen she embraces her aspect fully that she might learn that people change, grow and improve. Sburb will challenge people and it is crucial that sheaccepts these challenges and grows from them- after learning about the risks, fighting off bosses and laboriously collecting frogs will she still getemotional over the things she used to think were a big deal?
Even before when she wasgetting overemotional about things, she still sounds like the type that keepsfriends together, even at the cost of her own emotional health. As the gameprogresses she will continue to help stop fights before they even happen and possiblytake on a more motherly role, protecting the creativity and freedom of herteammates to do as they wish.
Role: Power wise, the maid ofspace is possibly one of the most powerful and useful classes of all the gamebecause the maid’s description entails “creating and preserving”. With the helpof some of her teammates which it sounds like she’s already pretty close to,collecting frogs and creating the genesis frog should be a pinch. It doesn’tstop there though- if she ascends, she could play an important part defensivelyon the battle field and after. She may be able to heal the battlefield(although that may be heading into Sylph’s territory there), create actualspace- as in, put space between the team and the enemy, as well as preservespace. Preserving space can be interpreted in many ways. It could meanpreserving the planets and keeping them out of harm’s way, or preservingcertain pockets in space so that nothing can get through to that area. I’d goon, but this is getting a lil long ^_^;;
Prince of time
I’ve actually gone throughprinces of time in my last analysis funny enough, but a key difference here isthat it is stated that he is loyal. Loyal but angry. Unless there’s a lot ofbuild-up, his friends should be able to see if he’s going to snap or not andwith a sylph of life as well as many other positive aspects, that day where hebreaks down might never come. Princes often ghost their aspect, so it willprobably be he who is the spontaneous and, (possibly to the surprise of hisfriends) creatively capable and good at thinking himself out of problems(something he them might rub in their face for ever doubting him. Which theymight jokingly accept.). These roles would switch when the prince learns of hisresponsibilities as a time player.
Before that key point he willhave been “killing time”- beating around the bush and doing side quests or“helping” with friends’ ones (annoying them and making them frustrated with hisown easily angered self). After that key point he will have to pick up theslack and start using his time travelling powers to help out or, if he can’taccept that, destroy through time, effectively dooming the timeline. Hopefullythat won’t happen though as long as his teammates keep him on track ;)
Role: It is only after helearns to become responsible with his time travelling abilities that he can behelpful, before that there is the slight chance he’d be helpful, but also thegreater chance that he’d just go wherever his whims wanted him too. On thebattlefield in the fight against the black king and queen, you can creativelyinterpret his powers yourself on “destroying time” to see how destructive he’dbe. You could imagine that he killed time in one place so that everythingaround the area went on whilst that spot and everything in it was frozen. Inthe opposite way, if he was to destroy through time, he might be able torapidly speed up time in certain areas so that people age until they become oldand incapable.
Rogue of light
Light is all about relevance, the importance of things, luck and information. This player will, possiblywithout realising it, be redistributing information among her peers as she seesfit. Although she’s not very comfortable in the spot light herself, she willalways make sure everyone gets their fair share of importance themselves. Shepays attention to the little voices and listens for something important, and ifshe hears something that she thinks others will hear, she’ll be the one to go“uh, guys? So and so has got a fair point…”
Rogues often struggle withtheir aspect initially, and her anxiety proves that. She will take theimportance from herself and give it to others, possibly believing that sheisn’t very helpful and that other people are more important. She faces theproblem of fading into the shadows completely and thinking herself entirelyuseless, at which point she risks inverting into a knight of void and trying anew perspective for “helping” by exploiting people’s secrets…
Honestly it’s great you gaveme a bit of background info there because she sounds very interesting and witha rogue of light, you could have literally any personality I’ve realised.
Role: If she breaks out ofher nervousness and realises her own potential, the rogue could be one of thebest tacticians in the group along with the thief of mind. She could getinformation round the group at lightning fast speed, as well as acting like aspy on the black kings and queens and stealing their plans, giving them to herteam. She could steal the luck from opponents and make them miss, giving theluck to her allies who would then score critical hits.
Sylph of life
A sylph of life is basicallythe best healer in the game, both emotionally and physically. Like the rogue, she probably puts a lot of emphasis on other people, and takes joy out ofmaking others feel better and inspired. She knows how to get people up offtheir feet and moving, which is pretty good if you’re trying to get the princeto accept his title as a hero of time. It’s too bad she doesn’t follow her ownadvice of staying upbeat and positive.
Whether it’s problems athome, or she simply feels neglected by placing so much attention on the groupbut no once asking how she is doing(the latter is less likely considering you have the rogue of light) and thisproblem is going to grow and grow unless someone does something about it.
Role: The sylph of life isthe best healer in the game, though she cannot restore life like the maid can,she can bring people back from the brink of death and I suspect she can do thatmore than just once. Fully realised, she will be the primary healer.
Thief of heart
Oh god… I kind of forgotabout the thief until now and jaesoos I forgot that this one is arguably thebiggest threat to the session. There’s a lot of interpretation here, but Ibelieve that the thief initially is a bit of an identity stealer, or the typethat sees a good idea or passion and takes it for their own, but then afterascending to god tier is able to steal souls. Yeah instead of just destroyingthem, the thief can steal the souls and will of someone, making the body a merepuppet for the thief to use at whim.
Anyway, that went off on abit of a tangent but it makes you realise that dang this thief better refrainfrom pissing off her friends too much by stealing the happiness and passionfrom them (by this I mean, imagine if your sylph had a passion for growingthings. The thief might take this passion away and become a champion gardenerherself, outdoing the sylph and stealing the positivity from her by paradingaround her triumph as the best grower). The key thing here is that she seems tobe quite goal orientated which I take it what you meant by logical. She knowsto be careful with her power. She knows where to move people along and play thestring puller, but she can’t do this without being bossy.
The prince of time isprobably one of the only people that will stand up to him, and even though the sylphof life is good at motivating people, it will be the thief that shoves him in agood or bad direction and this is game changing.
Role: She is anothertactican, and even though the rogue might be better at regulating information,it is the theif that steps up to the challenge of being leader and as long asshe doesn’t get too angry at the other players or the other players don’t getangry at her, she should play a somewhat stable, if a little uneasy, leader. Also a heavy hitter, as said in the first paragraph. If she so chose, she couldbrainwash consorts and carpacians alike to raise an army!
Summary:
This got pretty negative, butplease bear in mind I’m the type of person that picks out what could go wrongfor the sake of conflict, because conflict is interesting to me >xpHonestly, this is a pretty good team and in terms of a solid unit, you’ve got aleader, tactican, therapist and the like. For the battle, your prince and thiefare heavy hitters, your maid is a tank and strong on the defence of the landwhilst the sylph is a healer of the heavy hitters and the rogue, distributing luck,is just the icing on the cake.
If you get to the finalbattle without the prince or thief going rogue, you’ve got this in the bag.

(There is a TL:DR at the bottom)I made this post right after I watched Season 1 but it was right around the show released so I deleted it and have been waiting to post this. With the coming arrival of Season 2 this seems like a great time. I've also updated several portions which seemed to support the theory.A lot of these thoughts have probably been posted before considering how alike people tend to think on Reddit. Plus the 4 people who read my original post. This theory is in regard to certain aspects of the properties of the Stranger Things Universe and Foreshadowing plot points for Season 2.This can get a little tinfoily at times so take it with a grain of salt. The theory revolves most around Eleven and Will. But first let me point out how well thought out and written Stranger Things is, there is some amazing foreshadowing in Dialogue and Camera work. The DnD board game being by far the earliest and most obvious foreshadowing, presenting things like the Demigorgon and the Veil of Shadows. However, there's also extremely subtle foreshadowing such as in Chapter 2: The Weirdo on Maple Street. At 29:20, Eleven refuses to let Lucas leave the room and the group experiences the first moments of her Telekinetic powers. In this scene there are quick cuts to when the door slams that show 3 DnD pieces. They seem to be a fighter (Mike), warlock (Dustin) and ranger (Lucas) class. The class is less important than what happens to the pieces. One piece is shaken but remains standing that's Mike, in Episode 3 he loses confidence in Eleven when Will's fake body is found, but we see later that he still brings Eleven home he's just very mad at her.One piece falls down that's Dustin he loses total confidence and has to be convinced to restart the search for Will, but he's far easier to convince than Lucas.Lucas whose Ranger piece falls off the top of the drawer, his confidence is completely broken in Eleven, he does not trust the weirdo, and this mistrust continues throughout the Chapters leading to the biggest internal conflict in the group which separates everyone for a short time.Lucas is without a doubt a Ranger class. This is signified by his use of the slingshot, it's also demonstrated by the DnD pieces, and Will even has a drawing of the 4 of them which seems to present Dustin as a Theif/Rogue class, Will as the Wizard, Mike as the Paladin/Fighter, and Lucas as the Ranger.Basically I wanted to point this symbolism out as proof that the Duffer Brothers and the writing team really thought things through about the show. Specifically foreshadowing and some symbolism. As we know, or believe, Eleven isn't dead. This is most supported by the scene where Hopper leaves food including Eggo Waffles in a box out in the woods and the fact that she seemed to be absorbed by the remnants of the Demogorgon. The theory really begins here:First let me state that there are actually 3 realms that we see in the show.Earth Realm – where the show takes place. The Vale of Shadows or Shadowplane or it's title in the show The Upside-Down.The Inbetween place or The Psychic Realm – This is the psychic realm that Eleven can enter, it allows her to access the minds of Russian military diplomats and steal secrets, she can do almost any psychic thing here. It seems to be a lot like Cerebro in Xmen, although we know it also connects to the Upside-Down in various ways. Now allow me to state the portions of the theory itself:Eleven is the DemogorgonShadow-walkingEleven is YodaWill the Wise (I'll just mention his potential changes throughout the wall of text)Eleven is the DemogorgonI mean this quite literally, the Demogorgon is her parallel, her dark reflection and in many ways her manifestation.Chapter 5: The Flea and the Acrobat – Around 39:00 -“(Lucas) But did you ever stop to think that maybe she is the Monster?”I believe this is meant to demonstrate the parallel between the monster and Eleven so that the audience can draw further conclusions about the properties of the worlds. It's unclear as to whether or not Lucas meant this literally or figuratively.Chapter 6: The Monster– Around 42:40 - “(Eleven) Mike I'm sorry... The gate I opened it, I'm the Monster.”It's quite obvious that Eleven only says this because of the feelings of guilt and shame for creating so many problems. Eleven sadly also has a bit of a victim's mentality and is quick to blame herself for all of these problems even though it wasn't her fault. Disregarding the emotional concept of Eleven believing herself to be the Monster, I do think this scene is meant to have a double meaning in that she is literally the monster.Chapter 5: The Flea and the Acrobat – Around 6:40 - *“(Dustin) The Vale of Shadows is a dark reflection or an echo of our world. It is a place of decay and Death, a plane out of phase, a place of monsters, it is right next to you and you don't even see it...” *This is why I describe the Demogorgon as being both a manifestation and a parallel/reflection. It is an echo of Earth Realm. Meaning our world determines the reflection. Which means it is possible that the Demogorgon is both a manifestation and Eleven's counterpart. They do not have to be mutually exclusive.Which then lends a layer of symbolism to the appearance of the Demogorgon. Nancy and Joyce both describe the Demogorgon as “Looking like a Man but with no face.”The Demogorgon is a reflection of Eleven's abusers specifically Papa or Doctor Brenner.Chapter 4: The Body – Around 33:30 “(Jonathan) This man that you saw what'd he look like... (Nancy) It was almost like he, like he,... (Jonathan) Didnt have a face?”You could even view the Demogorgon in a broader sense as the evil of men/mankind in general that Eleven experiences. There's potentially some subtext as woman are the shown victims of both the Scientists and the Monsters. Eleven, Barbara, Nancy and Joyce are the primaries. (Of course there were other people killed, the hunters in the woods who had shot the deer)The Demogorgon and Eleven are also paralleled because they appear to both have psychic powers. We know that Eleven can target individuals for psychic visibility but it seems impossible to communicate with them. At least at her current level of power. If she could she would've contacted Will a long time ago and told him to go to the Department of Energy to escape. However, Eleven was able to actually communicate and touch the Demogorgon in the Psychic Realm, there's even some evidence to suggest that the Demogorgon was seeking her out beforehand and she ran from it. Regardless, it's their connection that created the rupture and opened the Gate to the Upside-Down.Eleven is the Demogorgon theory also explains why Eleven appears to die at the end of the show.Eleven kills her reflection in Earth Realm and the remnants of the Demogorgon banish her. In a way they forced her to shadow-walk to the Upside-Down to take it's place since it's parallel was killed in Earth Realm. The Death of Eleven's counterpart also causes the Portal to close which is why she cannot just go through Mirkwood back to the department of energy and return to Earth Realm.A lot of people believe the portal to be open because how could Hopper and Joyce escape with Will if the portal shut? However, if you recall, these portals take awhile to close. The one Will was taken through may have lasted until the morning and Nancy's portal through the tree took some time to close and these are tiny holes. The original gate was massive and probably took far longer potentially a day or two.And I'm sure most people know this, it's probably the first question everyone wanted an answer to at the end of the show. The reason Hopper is leaving the food in that box. He's feeding Eleven because what happens in our realm happens in the Upside-Down. A little more on this later.Shadow-WalkingChapter 5: The Flea and the Acrobat – Around 6:40 - “(Lucas) But how do we get there...(Dustin) You cast Shadow-walk...(Lucas) In real life dummy...We can't shadow-walk but, maybe she can”When watching the show you automatically think Eleven is shadowwalking when she transfers her mind to the other realm. I did. But I'm starting to think that's not shadow-walking at all.Because as stated that's how you get to the Upside-Down, but we know that the Upside-Down looks nothing like the Psychic Realm. The Psychic Realm seems to encompass both realms and therefore is some sort of Inbetween place. So what's Shadow-Walking?At the end of the season when Will is in the bathroom and he vomits the slug he seems to have a vision of the Upside-Down.I don't think that was a vision at all. I think Will shadow-walked and potentially disappeared from Earth-Realm for a moment or that his mind shadow-walked and he has a presence there.Either way this was a true depiction of shadow-walking, but Will is untrained in this power and can't quite control it.There is an image in the Season 2 Trailer where Will is in the Department of Energy Laboratory with his Mom Joyce.I think Will is going to reveal his powers to his Mom which will cause her to seek help from the Department of Energy, likely make contact with them through Hopper. I think in this image he is shadow-walking and perhaps in a coma-like state and that he's doing this to bring back Eleven.Remember what their Science/AV teacher Mr. Clarke said when asked about the Vale of Shadows:Chapter 5: The Flea and the Acrobat – Around 19:20 “Echo of the material world where necrotic and shadow magic rule”It's possible that Will the Wise has become his Wizard and taken on powers from his exposure to the Upside-Down, that he now has Necromantic Shadow magic.Professor X-YodaThere were noticeable amount of references to Yoda and Professor X in regard to Eleven:Chapter 2: The Weirdo on Maple Street – Around 21:15 - “(Mike) Ready are you what knows you of ready, his names Yoda, he can use the force to move things with his mind”A clear parallel between Yoda and Eleven that relates her telekinetic powers to the force.Chapter 4: The Body – Around 16:20 - “(Mike) I don't think it's about that I think somehow she is channeling him... (Dustin) Like Professor X...”Here she is related to Professor X as being able to communicate with others.Chapter 8: The Upside Down – Around 43:20 – Will has awoken in the hospital and they're talking to her about 11 “(Dustin) She's basically a Wizard...(Lucas) She has superpowers...(Mike) More-like a Yoda”Again another reference to Yoda. I think this goes beyond references and analogies especially because it was mentioned again at the end of the show. I think this foreshadows two things. One that Eleven's death has made her more powerful than we can possibly imagine. And two this is a reference to her return but not a physical return, at least not right away. She is perhaps going to be more or less a “Force Ghost” for some time before her physical return. I don't know how this will happen, she may develop a connection to Will because of his new powers or Mike because of their love connection. She may even be able to help them out with her powers at their request a la “Beyond Two Souls” (a video game about connected spirits). The force ghost portion of the theory makes a lot more sense if if Eleven's corporeal body was destroyed. But I don't think that's the case. However...The destroyed body theoryPreviously my theory was a little different and so this is sort of a summary of that because I think it's also interesting.Basically everything is the same except Eleven's body was destroyed, she exists as a consciousness within the inbetween but has become “more powerful than you can possibly imagine” she now exists as Mike's protector very much like “Beyond Two Souls” in that she can literally monitor him and be with him all the time if she wants. She has been moving the food Hopper places to let them know she's still alive while she figures out a way to communicate with her friends. She eventually creates a connection with Mike or Will. By the end of the season Will develops “Necrotic” magic or Necromancy and raises Eleven from the dead so that she can defeat the Thesselhydra. But I can't imagine that the show would get that weird or dark. Although I think the show is going to get a lot darker and start to incorporate concepts that are more magical.Thesselhydra PredictionOne last thing regarding Season 2: The Thesselhydra isn't some weird giant Hydra, it's a Giant Arachnid. I'm sure many people have pointed this out, it's seems obvious because of the 8 legs. You see in The Hobbit, not Lord of the Rings, a dark figure called the Necromancer, who is secretly Sauron, establishes himself in a place called Dol Guldur in Mirkwood, shortly after Giant Spiders infest Mirkwood these spiders are spawn of the Ungoliant a giant spider from the 1st age.See the parallel? Will the Wise has returned to his home in Mirkwood with Necromantic powers. Expect a giant spiderling invasion of the town in addition to the Ungoliant aka the Thesselhydra. And only Eleven and some Fireballs can stop them. Also note that this time it's Will who has the connection with the Thesselhydra, that is after-all his drawing. Now maybe he was just drawing the Thesselhydra for their RPG use, but I don't think that's it. He knows the darkness is coming. This is Will's house isn't it? Do you think he's shadow-walking or in a dream? Or have the realms begun to merge at this point?Other Notable Things/PredictionsEleven will be adopted by Hopper or her Mom (Terry) will snap out of it take her back and Hopper will start dating Terry. Either way Hopper becomes Eleven's caretaker. (Remember when Hopper visited Terry with Joyce and Terry's sister kept saying that he would've gotten along really well with Terry, foreshadowing baby)Will Shadow-walking to retrieve Eleven will work quite early on but I think the problem is Will won't be able to control this power and he will accidentally merge the RealmsDustin has mild Divination magic or you could see it as Luck Magic and he's quite possibly the smartest of the five members of the gang. Which is why Mike refers to him as Mr. Fantastic and why he always seems to be able to predict things like when the Demogorgon/Thesselhydra is coming, what attack to use to defeat it (remember that the first fireball failed, he wanted to cast protection), and that the lunch lady kept a massive pile of pudding.TL:DR – Eleven literally was the Demogorgon and when she killed it she killed herself and transformed into a “Force Ghost” and banished herself to the Upside-Down. Will the Wise has returned with some level of necromantic shadow powers. Meanwhile the Thesselhydra a.k.a. a giant Arachnid has been growing in Mirkwood and is about to hatch spiderlings that will ravage the town as it reaches it's full size. Will must use his new founds powers to bring back Eleven and defeat the town terror... and Dustin has spidey-sense. via /r/StrangerThings
