Ok . that would be enough to make his heart do backflips but let me raise you another thought.. his lips are chapped and caleb asks for your lip balm, but that would be too easy, wouldn't it? he's gotta struggle a bit somehow for entertainment. so what's the best move you can do? you apply lip balm on yourself and kiss him.. maybe it's not as efficient but man is caleb caught off guard & sporting a goofy smile after..

he starts hoping that you'll apply lip balm for him that way from now on, but if you go back to just applying it for him/handing him your lip balm, he looks a bit dejected. just a bit. (he might even flash you some puppy eyes.. grown ass man doing aegyo for kisses....)

Personally though? I don't see it...

Mirai is not as mysterious as Kako, we spent some time with her before, and one of her core characteristics is that she loves candy. She is addicted to it! And a gear machine shouldn't be able to have even a phantom of a sense of taste? much less one strong enough to be an exploitable weakness.

She could be a machine based on a human though, perhaps Kako's granddaughter or some other type of relative/loved one, cause machines are a human thing, the idea of becoming immortal, having your soul placed in a machine, is a human thing. The very concept of time being measured and tracked (clocks, moths, years) is a human invention.

If we assume that the mechanical body is Kako's real body, not a clone, like Shijima's clones, then someone built him. Likely a human. And this is absolutely delusion territory but, if Mirai was built based on a living person/Is a living person, she could be the Yorishiro. It would make more sense than Akane at least, who was already stabbed and there was no seal to be seen.

It would also give a new meaning to the "Mirai is kept locked up in our boundary" thing.

Like. I don’t imagine that she & Annatar ‘hung out’ so to speak literally ever, but when she’s in Eregion they both travel in social circles that occasionally overlap like a venn diagram, and she knows that Celebrimbor is happy that he’s there and then BAM, *all the things happen* and hindsight is, as they say, 20/20.

Anyway, that’s my answer to that one, which feels very evil of me but like, that’s on brand. 

I don’t think she has (or she hasn’t told me) about betraying anyone else so. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think I'm going to stop reacting to onk chapter by chapter...I'll wait til I have something worth saying, which I don't think I really have for this one.

the Ai and Hikaru flashback/movie drama is very interesting but I feel like it's kind of covering stuff we know already, the aqua kana interactions were cute, but I don't have anything deeper to say, and the Hikaru jumpscare promises an interesting hook for next chap. but that's really really surface level.

Actually the one thing I do kind of want to dig into is Aqua's mindset right now. He said the role is affecting him, but his plans and thoughts are sufficiently obscured from the audience that it's hard to be certain what's really bothering him. Is he telling Kana the straightforward truth, and the tragedy of Hikaru's childhood is hitting him emotionally? Alternatively, or perhaps in tandem, Is this causing him to feel conflicted about his revenge plot? There's also the option that this is completely unrelated to Hikaru - seeing Ai like this could be having an effect on him. Not to mention that a version of Ai, being played by Ruby, saying she doesn't know if she loves him, could hit pretty hard, given that he already assumes all his familial relationships were fragile and fake. Ai expressing her love at her death was one thing, but Aqua already blames himself, it would be completely understandable for him to think she was misguided in her love, or even assume that if she knew the truth about his past life she wouldn't feel the same way. Ruby, meanwhile says she loves Gorou but not Aqua - it makes sense for him to not be confident that their bond is real at all, and be hurt by that "I don't know." Or maybe that's completely off base and it doesn't have anything to do with the movie at all, and this is the same lingering truama discussed in 143, or even worries about how the revenge plan is going. There's too many options for me to say anything for certain. which is why I'm not going to tag a real reaction in here. but that's kind of where my thoughts have been circling.

1) I think Leona and the mort garson album Plantasia have been firmly woven together that any time I'm out in nature or listening to the album while sleeping, it makes me think about him, the brainrot is intense

1- i listened to approximately four songs + the song you sent me bc i want the brainrot and also i love listening to new music >:D gotta say from what i heard it’s pretty good, it’s got a wonder-like vibe, i would say ^^ it also reminds me a bit of video game music, like how music would change when you enter a certain area

and the symphony for a spider plant sounds like something that would play in the botanical garden where leona would nap,,,,like a nice n peacefully silly song hehe <333

2 - WHAT THE FUCK. WHY WOULD YOU BRING THIS TO MY ATTENTION— this whole TIME i thought he was wearing patchwork pants (like the grey parts are sown into the dark grey parts) BUT NOW. now….. now i think he needs actual pants bc is he just wearing shorts and then the assless chaps on top of that ?? bc that sounds highly inconvenient.

I just saw that someone replied on my "Before Penn Station" fic on ff.net and!!! they're one of my favorite protocreed authors!!! I'm so stoked!

Also they mentioned that there was a lot of information and things going on that wasn't quite explained as well as a sudden shift in PoV which---hehe

Bc it would be a sudden PoV shift if you only consider Desmond to be the only one who is telling the story. I mean. I can't spoil too much because a lot of that gets explained in the Prototype game era of the fic, which is its own act but. The fact that they pointed it out is so!!!!!!!

As a writer, it feels so good when I put a line that stands out and makes the reader scratch their heads. yes yes yes
