One thing i'm obsessed with about charles and think about everyday, is that whenever he touches edwin he doesn't just remove the touch, he drags it and slides his hand, as if each touch wasn't enough and he needs to prolong it

the lesson you get from the flashbacks of edwin and charles' deaths is that hate crimes are real and the suffering they cause had been getting overlooked for over a century.

that there's still people dying like that somewhere, and there's people, young people, that are going to die believing that they didn't matter.

something probably obvious that’s been eating at my brain a lot is that charles asked to go with edwin.

he’d known this boy for a couple of hours at most and had heaven itself presented to him and chose to stay with edwin. we know this.

BUT it’s important to note that charles didn’t reject heaven over an afterlife as a detective. he didn’t snub the afterlife over a sense of purpose or duty, over the promise of adventure and fulfillment. he could not possibly have known that this choice would send him down a mystery-solving path. all he knew was that he wanted to stay with edwin.

charles did not choose an afterlife as a dead boy detective in that moment. charles chose an afterlife as edwin’s best friend. in a heartbeat.

I desperately need a scene in Dead Boy Detectives where Edwin is the one running in and saving Charles all badass-like

Reason for this being that I feel like Charles seeing the aggressive and protective side of Edwin would flip a switch somewhere in Charles’ mind and the bisexuality would hit him like a TRUCK

For me this scene is more full of love than even the one on the stairs of hell.

Because Charles’s gesture is so easy, calm and full of confidence, that just screams:

I am ready to face everything, even the end of my existence, as far as I am holding your hand.
