“This shit is creepy, isn’t it?” Abel grimaced over to Gideon after the first of the shadows played out. It wasn’t something he’d admit, but he always felt a lot more relaxed after he’d lost his tributes, heartbroken, devastated, but definitely less panicked. He was able to take in the arena from an outsider perspective, and he hated the fact that he thought of the game makers are talented people.

mr-gideon-prewett replied to your post:Who do you want to marry?
I think even for purebloods it’s illegal to marry your own brother.
Fuck you too Prewett. What in Merlin's name makes you think I meant Amycus when I said my other half? Don't you believe in soulmates?

Firstly - I think they only really count as sloppy seconds if I've had a go at them first, and this time I haven't! Promise. It seems a bit harsh to rule out perfectly lovely people just because they find me attractive too.
Secondly - I was just doing my civic duty! There's only so much Prewett around to satisfy the screaming masses, and I'm out of commission these days. It's your job to take over for me now.
And finally - yes. Yes I did. But hey! What's the good in having a twin if I can't send my adoring fans your way when they're annoying me?

"I don't even like either of the colours" Abel admitted with a sigh. "I just think being in the arena and pitted against all the other tributes is enough on it's own, you know? We don't need to make them play against each other in teams as well"
His brows rose at the question directed toward him. Gideon hummed around his glass and set it down on the table near his seat, "I've got both of mine in orange, so that's my color today." Had to be a rough call when one Tribute from the same District had been on opposing teams. "If we were going for favorite colors, though, then it'd be blue. Sucks that you're caught between the two."

Rush leaned into Gideon almost immediately, mainly because he felt so unsteady on his feet. "I think maybe eleventy mouthfuls" he slurred as an answer, because he'd lost count after five, and usually he was pretty good at counting. "I don't think I can drink another thing ever again, not even water"
"I think it might be," Gideon chuckled, though he did feel a little bad for Rush. He had never seen the other Mentor drink, so he wondered if this had been his first taste of alcohol. What an experience that had to be. Gideon reached out to help him away from the group, "Let's find somewhere to sit and get you some water. Any idea how much you've had?"

Rush just nodded, but when he did that, he felt like his head was going to bobble right off, and then when he thought about that he couldn't hold in the laughter, so he was laughing then.
Once he was sat, he tried to keep himself steady enough to look at Gideon while he spoke, but there were four Gideon's, and he was having a hard time concentrating on just one. "We were playing a game" he explained. "I can't remember the rules, but I kept losing"
"Well, we'll need to balance you out. We'll have the water on standby, yeah?" He had an arm wrapped around Rush to help support him on their way to the tables. A couple of partygoers they passed smiled and gave stifled chuckles at the sight. To them, it was a young Victor that was having a really good time. Gideon pulled out a chair from one of the tables to help Rush take a seat, "Here we go," he murmured, taking one of the pre-filled glasses of water and scooting it within Rush's reach whenever he felt he could down it. "Were you trying out all the drinks on the menu?" he teased.

"I think the mind games are almost worse then any big scary monsters or whatever" Abel admitted. It's what caught most people during his arena, the family footage, messed with their minds enough to leave them vulnerable.
"Yeah," he replied, brows creased while he had finished watching the last of the footage of the shadows introduced to the Arena. There was still very much an air of mystery to them and what exactly they were capable of. So far, it seemed like they were just there to scare the Tributes, keep them unsettled and on edge. "As if there isn't enough to worry about already in that Arena..."
