Thread: Emmeline Vance & Marlene Mckinnon location: Mckinnon Residence
she shouldn’t be tiptoeing through these halls like a crazy person and yet here she was avoiding the older mckinnon to see the younger one, was it possible to cheat in a friendship? the secrets itself was enough to make her sick and yet here she was trying to be better, “just the mckinnon i was looking for --” smile at her lips, ignoring the irony that was the mess that just came out of her.

EMMELINE VANCE WAS CURRENTLY GREEN. she’d usually like to think that nearly any colour was her colour, but godric this pukey green was not doing her justice. it was all courtesy of peeves and merlin, she was FUMING. nearly bumping into someone passing by, the girl chucked herself against the wall, anything to avoid getting this awful colour on someone else, “I know i’m not allowed to say this, but i’m going to kill him --”

Cas looked around to make sure that she was alone not seeing the figure to the side, before groaned and tossed the paper to the side, before sinking to the ground and biting her lip trying to keep the tears at bay. “Who the hell do they think they are?”

“You’re joking!”
“I’m not!” He replied, clapping his hand on his desk. “This man, after already slipping down the street, continued to try again and again. I mean, it was kind of funny because he kept slipping, but also a bit admirable. We tried to offer him help, but he wouldn’t take it. So, we waited and watched as he finally made it to the top. Not gonna lie, we did clap in the end. It was just so moving.”

“Marlene?” Mary called into the flat, she was hoping that she had come at a time when Dorcas was gone. She knew that she could rely on all of her friends, but at the moment she just wanted to get drunk and forget about her problems, something that Marlene seemed to specialize in. @littlemissmckinnon

The moment their trainee ran in to tell Sirius that Marlene had been arrested, Sirius ran to see her only to be held back and told that Marlene needed to serve her sentence for nearly beating a man to death. That man, of course, was Peter. It was a conflicting set of emotions that followed the news—for one, Sirius wanted to kill the rat just as much as anyone else, but attacking him in public was stupid and reckless and beyond satisfaction that Peter had received a proper beating, he was angry at her for risking herself. He sat by the entrance to the cells where they kept the arrested, tapping his fingers impatiently for a few hours before he heard footsteps and turned to see his favorite red head. “You heard?” Sirius asked Lily as she walked over, pursing his lips. “You know, I thought detention really worked on her, and yet here we are.”

“You know, we don’t have to do this--” considering where they were, it wasn’t as if they were short of things to do, kicking off his shoes he let the sand seep in.

Marlene melted into his touch, resting her head against his chest. The fear of abandonment had stayed with her for so long, she wondered if Sirius knew how much relief and comfort there were in his words. She pulled away just slightly to look at him, nodding, expression soft. “I still want it to be just us too.” I want it to just be us forever. She thought, chest tightening as her heart betrayed her.
Sirius rested his head on top of hers, humming in agreement out of fear of saying too much. He stayed there a few moments, minutes perhaps that he didn’t really have, but needed all the same. “I’ve got to shower... And then go,” he said quietly, moving a hand under her chin to tilt her head up and kiss her softly, “I’ll be back... Tomorrow or after tomorrow, probably after tomorrow. Eat meanwhile, okay? Promise me you’ll take care of yourself and not... go out looking for a fight you can’t win.”

Midnight Mischief - [Marlene & Emme]
It was certainly passed curfew and she certainly wasn’t suppose to be out of bed and in front of the Blondie’s room, she opened the door as quietly as she can passing by her sleeping friends, she moved to the the all familiar blonde. Giving her a shoulder a gentle shake and she leaned down to whisper in her ear, “Marley -- wake up” she murmured, trying to keep her words quiet and away from Lily and Mar’s sleeping ears. “For fucks sake Marley -- wake up!” she hissed.

“Okay, we need to get rid of some stuff, this just... It’s too much, there’s too much,” Sirius said looking around what now was his and Marlene’s room. It didn’t help that he was extremely neat, needing everything to be exactly where it was meant to. “We need to make another extension charm on the closet for Lily too, and while we’re at it, we might as well get rid of duplicate... toys.”

“Come on Freddie--” he murmured, swaying ever so slightly as he soothed the infant. He had just gotten George and Perce down and he was one away from collapsing on the couch. A faint smile tugged at his lips as he took note of the yawn -- almost there. Slipping through the apartment with ease, he stopped in his tracks at the sound of the knock. A frown at his lips -- Fabian wouldn’t be back till late, he had the boys tonight -- he wasn’t expecting company.
A smile toyed at his lips as he took note of his late night visitor, “hey--” he murmured, propping the door further to allow her to slip in.

“Yeah, maybe I can teach when a good time to drop that kind of a bombshell is.” Marlene joked drily. “I know I should probably feel bad, but I’ve missed it just being us.” she said, before pulling away from him so she could look at him. “What is it?”
“Is there a time?” he asked with a chuckle, looking down at her. “Me too, I missed it... Now more than ever, I think,” he said taking her hand, caressing the back of it with his thumb. “I was thinking... Maybe we could... Start telling people? About us? Being together...? I kinda mentioned it to Reg and Cissa.”

Perhaps her mother was right, she was a perfectionist. The spread before her was proof of that. All breakfast foods imaginable were laid out the table before her, it was a Sunday morning and sure, she had gotten in a bit late last night -- she had an assignment in Scotland that kept her away for a few days but merlin, she was glad to be home.
