I created this (very imperfect) infographic based on this US State Insect list, but you’ll find slightly different information in different lists so take it with a grain of salt (and don’t even ask me about what’s going on with the Lady Beetles).

If you thought the state birds were a mess please just look at the current state bug situation. Suffering from the same duplicate issue as the state birds but this is even worse because there are so many non-native selections. Do we as Americans notice any bugs other than lepidopterans? Iowa and Michigan didn’t even try. Please someone let me fix this 😭

Gosh dang it. I was reached out to on Twitter by someone asking for permission to do a voice over over my work and I had ONE thing I requested. That being credit.

I didn't realize they were using AI of all things on top of not giving me credit for my work.

Thank you for letting me know. Idk what I'll do about it just yet but I'll figure something out.

So I had to fix the one charm design because his whiskers were too thin to print and the person doing my order called them his beard.

Hey there, glad you love the post! I'm about to make some people very sad I think, but I'm pretty badly entomophobic. I make a point to embroider posts that aren't focused on my interests - I'm not into motorcycle racing either, yknow? But I'm not going to be doing insects beyond the worms haha. I apparently have the vibes of someone who by all rights should love insects but they're just not for me personally so I leave that to my naturalist friends.

Fandom IRL: what do you keep for you and what do you share?

Last night I was spinning my newly-acquired copy of Change the Show, and doing some house cleaning.

The speakers were turned up, I'm wailing "nothings ever gonna be good enough," and Mr. FauxHawk walks in, home earlier than expected from a late meeting.

I froze. I felt like a teenager. It was...embarrassing?

Like, he knows I have a fandom life that includes an Arctic Monkeys obsession. He's sweet about it, but will tease me about the most surface-level TLSP stuff (ie "are those men still flirting with each other") and watched me literally scream at Jarvis Cocker when we saw Pulp. I'm not shy about My Loves™️.

But part of me was not ready to introduce him to Miles Kane. And it feels, well, silly. I'm trying to understand why I feel so protective of him and his music.

I need fandom opinions, friends. Is this something that ever happens to you? HELP
