"Do you?" Eddie asks flatly, still alarmed and doing his best to hide it. "I would've never guessed."

Buck swallows. "Eddie, I love you."

"Are you softening the blow, or buttering me up? Because, I've got to tell you, I'm still very worried regardless," Eddie tells him.

"No, you don't understand. I love you. I'm currently in love with you," Buck says as evenly as possible, and even then, his voice wobbles precariously there for a moment. He exhales. "You don't have to worry about it, though, because I've processed it and decided to—to find relief in telling you before moving on and moving forward."

Eddie stares at him. No response at all.

Well, at least he's not freaking out.

It was only a matter of time before one of Buck's sleeves ripped. Buck knew it, everybody at the 118 knew it. Bystanders on the streets of LA knew it.

But when it actually happens, Buck just wants to know why Eddie is so upset.

Eddie knows his reactions to each milestone in his or Buck's relationships are not normal, but he can't stop. He needs some way to make the connection he feels with Buck real and untouchable by anyone else.

Basically, Eddie has a lot feelings he doesn't understand. So, instead of thinking about them, he keeps doing more and more to cement Buck's place in his life.

Eddie is all fucking over him. He falls asleep with his body sprawled over the broad expanse of Buck’s chest and wakes up with his face buried into the skin of his neck. They watch a movie together on Eddie’s couch and Eddie practically sits in his lap, head tucked under Buck’s chin as he blinks at the screen. When they’re alone, Eddie can’t stop himself from peppering kisses to Buck’s lips and his cheeks and his forehead as Buck giggles and pretends to try and duck. Under the dinner table every night, Eddie will hook his foot around Buck’s ankle and make Buck duck his head into a flushed smile. And Eddie is always, always holding Buck’s hand—running errands and in their own bed and at the grocery store and across the console while Buck’s driving them to work. Maybe he’s just in the honeymoon stage. Or maybe this is how he’ll always feel—like every second he’s not touching Buck is a second wasted.

“You all are delusional,” Buck squawks. Eddie lets out a low giggle and Buck turns to glare at him. “Oh, so now you have something to say?” He directs it at Eddie, and Eddie laughs again.

“I don’t know, Buck,” he teases, gesturing at the orange. “You have been slacking on the bicep curls lately.” He pokes Buck’s bicep and Buck lets out a yelp. “Hm. Soft.”

It is decidedly not soft. Eddie will probably be thinking about that for the next two business days, but that’s between Eddie and Eddie’s thoughts alone. -- Or, the one where Buck squeezes an orange with his bicep and Eddie has some thoughts about it.

In the months that passed, Eddie has been able to carefully work through his trauma from the shooting, with a therapist that he finally clicked with, and slowly but surely, the events of that day become a thing of the past.

Well, almost, because even when he was in excruciating amounts of pain and in and out of consciousness, he was able to register the fact that Buck had lifted him up and shoved him into the truck like a rag doll.

And yeah, maybe it was the adrenaline that gave Buck the strength, but the thought of Buck being able to lift him so easily has firmly planted roots in his mind and refused to let him go.

There’s SO much to talk about with this chapter but there’s one thing I want to focus on.

I WANT TO START OFF BY SAYING HOW MUCH I LOVE THAT WE ARE GETTING A LOOK INTO THEIR LIVES! BUDDY AND VIOLET INTERACTING! IN THEIR LIVING SPACE!

AND NOT ONLY THAT, THEY ARE LITERALLY IN THE SAME LIBRARY!! THAT CHASE GOT SILVER IN!!

LOSING MY MIND

Ok but to what I really want to talk about is seeing Nox and Violets dynamic. We are so used to Buddy, Snarky-Dramatic-Cat-Guy-Who-Loves-To-Bother-Chase, that when we get to see little guy Nox making a star out of chocolate and timidly trying to convince Violet that Chase may not be evil IT BLEW MY MIND. Watching how Violet acts. THE PEICES ALL CAME TOGETHER

BUDDY STOLE HIS DIVANESS DROM VIOLET!! He puts on this “Violetesque” persona! I could have chosen different panels but these were the ones that came to mind first. His old timey speech with complicated vocabulary might be his own, but he speaks less like that when he’s out of the book. But you know who does speak like that?? VIOLET! And you know who else is kind of mean and catty? VIOLET!

I do think that Violet is actually kind of genuinely mean. We see that she is a bit vain from the way she checks herself out in the mirror and steals the crown from the snow globe. She talks down to Nox and orders him around a bit too. I think they are her “villainess” charms. Though, I believe that her distrust is super valid. I’m sure she’s had plenty of bad experiences with humans.

It’s just so mind blowing to me that we can see them outside of the books like this, and be themselves. I can see where Nox gets his Buddy persona from. He’s like, “Ah yes as the villainess I must act like Violet. She is literally the prime example of what I must do!!” I know that Punko says he takes his role very seriously, so this is def his way of being the perfect villainess. And maybe trying to hide that he isn’t human, fumbling around like ahaha I totally know what I’m doing yes. I’m better than you and know what I’m doing. Yea. What? I’m weird? No, you are you little brat.

Alright , that’s all I have to say for now. Hastily made this around 1 am last night bc I HAD to get my thoughts out while I have a moment. So if any of this makes no sense lmk! Or if you want to see me ramble more about it/ other things. I have SO MANH THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS EP! Time to crawl back into my cave of having no time for things, (but hopefully today I’ve got some time! It’s been a very busy few weeks but hopefully I will have more time for theorizing with my stuffed animals in my room LOL

So I've just landed in Dallas for the first leg of my flight, and I've just one thing to say:

FUCK YOU AMERICAN AIRLINES

For context, I have a cat, Bumper, you know? And of course, with me moving, I'm taking my cat with me.

I did ALL the research, asked all the questions over phone calls, paid all the money needed for pet fees and health certificates and nowhere did it clearly state anything about sedation for pets in cabin was not allowed-

So of course, I want my cat to be as calm as possible, right? Who wouldn't? I got the meds cleared by the vet, and managed to give him a dose before I checked in.

So.

Why the FUCK was I told that pets in cabin cannot be accepted if they are sedated??? I did everything right, and no one told nor warned me about this little stipulation. I tried everything to get Bumper on my flight, and ended up, by coincidence, talking to the same lady all four times I went up to ask questions. The third time in particular, she was kinda rude and just looked me dead in the eyes and straight up said "Are you going to fly without your pet? Because if you're still trying to fly with him, I don't want to hear it, I'm done with you."

Ex-fucking-cuse me??? Wow. I know it must have been annoying to have to talk to the same person over and over again, but seriously???

So I made the difficult decision to leave my cat with my family... As luck would have it though, my mom and sister are going to be visiting me in like, two months (which is a whole 'nother can of worms), but it doesn't change how painful this whole situation was for me.

And the icing on the cake? I called AA to just get clarification on whether this was a new policy or something, and the person I spoke to, while polite, just kinda brushed me off and said "yeah this was always our policy, sorry for the confusion :)"

So that's fun.

I'm still excited as fuck to be on my way to my beloved! But both of us are hurting from this whole situation, even if it won't be for too long.

And if you've gotten this far in my rant, well, thank you for reading hah. I'm gonna be kicking it into high gear with commissions and posting to be able to make some money to be able to get my cat over here, so, keep an eye out for that TTuTT
