Are 5 Exercises Enough for Chest Day?
Yes, 5 exercises are enough for chest day if they effectively target all areas of the pectoralis major and minor, ensuring balanced development. The key is to choose compound and isolation movements that work the upper, middle, and lower chest while considering factors like volume, intensity, and recovery.
How Many Exercises Should You Do for Chest?
The ideal number of exercises depends on your experience level, training frequency, and goals:
Beginners (0-6 months): 3-4 exercises (8-12 reps, 3-4 sets)
Intermediate (6-18 months): 4-5 exercises (8-12 reps, 3-4 sets)
Advanced (18+ months): 5-6 exercises (6-12 reps, 4-5 sets)
A well-structured 5-exercise chest workout can be sufficient for muscle growth, provided you train with progressive overload and proper form.
5 Best Chest Exercises for Maximum Growth
Here’s a well-rounded 5-exercise chest workout that hits all areas:
1. Barbell Bench Press (Flat or Incline)
📌 Muscles Worked: Middle/Upper Chest, Triceps, Shoulders Sets & Reps: 4 sets of 6-10 reps 🔹 Why It Works: The best compound movement for building chest strength and mass.
2. Dumbbell Incline Press
📌 Muscles Worked: Upper Chest, Triceps, Shoulders 🔹 Sets & Reps: 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps 🔹 Why It Works: Helps develop the upper chest, which is often lagging.
3. Dumbbell or Machine Chest Fly
📌 Muscles Worked: Inner & Outer Chest 🔹 Sets & Reps: 3 sets of 10-12 reps 🔹 Why It Works: Stretches and contracts the pectorals for improved chest width and definition.
4. Decline Press (Barbell or Dumbbell)
📌 Muscles Worked: Lower Chest 🔹 Sets & Reps: 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps 🔹 Why It Works: Adds fullness to the lower chest and enhances overall size.
5. Dips or Machine Dips
📌 Muscles Worked: Lower Chest, Triceps 🔹 Sets & Reps: 3 sets of 10-12 reps 🔹 Why It Works: Excellent for finishing your workout with a deep stretch and contraction.
Additional Considerations
✔ Progressive Overload: Increase weight, reps, or sets over time. ✔ Proper Form: Prevents injury and ensures muscle activation. ✔ Rest & Recovery: Chest muscles need 48 hours to recover. ✔ Nutrition & Protein Intake: Essential for muscle repair & growth.
Final Verdict: Is 5 Chest Exercises Enough?
Yes! If you choose compound and isolation movements strategically, 5 exercises can be optimal for building size, strength, and definition in your chest. Keep your training intense, progressive, and balanced for the best results.

🎻🔱🎄💘🍛🤓
Thank you IchigoStrawberry for the questions~
🎻 does your oc play any instruments? what is their skill level (beginner/intermediate/advanced/virtuoso/etc)?
Unfortunately, Soichi doesn’t play any instruments.
🔱 can your oc swim? do they enjoy swimming?
Soichi is an excellent swimmer and she enjoys it very much. It’s one of her most common activities that she does every summer. She also has the ability to hold her breath for a long time, around 35 minutes. In her werewolf form she can hold it for 1.5 hours.
🎄what is your oc's favorite holiday?
Japanese new year’s day,
It’s Soichi’s favorite holiday because of the enjoyment with preparing and cooking the delicious food together with her family, and then just spend the whole day with them.
💘 what and/or who do(es) your oc consider the most important to them?
Family and friends. Most of Soichi’s enjoyment in life is the people who show kindness and care for her. She values these kinds of gestures because of how cruel the world can be. And when someone’s displaying geniality, towards her or someone she cares about, she is willing to show gratitude by doing them a favor. And if they grow closer, she’ll become a loyal friend to them.
🍛 what does your oc's typical dinner look like? do they usually eat dinner?
Soichi is very serious about her meals, so her dinner is by rule important to her. What type of dish she chooses to eat depends on her energy and the ingredients she has access to. Dinners are typically made at home, either by Soichi herself or her mother. Dinner is also the meal that typically involves spending time with her mother.
If Soichi happens to be late for dinner, she’ll either buy something to eat or just finish the meal when she’s back home.
If Soichi has to change her plans, she’ll usually texts her mother as early as possible to let her now that she won’t need to cook for two.
🤓 is your oc chatty or quiet? are they at ease in social situations, or are they more shy?
It all depends on Soichi’s company. Towards People she knows very well, she’s moderate. She isn’t too chatty and not too quiet. Towards acquaintances and strangers, she’s a lot shyer. If the person is showing goodwill, she will do her best engaging with the conversation. But, quiet moments are very likely to happen if there aren’t anything more to say.
Overall, Soichi is someone who’s very polite with her vocabulary. She’s soft spoken and normally doesn’t cuss or shout, and she behaves respectfully and nice towards others.
It is another story after she has passed the 20% of her werewolf form. Her voice changes as the percentage increases, she becomes more forward. Interestingly though, she becomes less talkative than her 0%. But her vocabulary turns ruder and louder. The final 100% form hardly ever talks, she mostly snarls and growls, only talking to warn or threaten. (You can read more about how Soichi’s behavior changes through her wolf transformation HERE) (There will someday be a whole post about the details of Soichi’s behavior and body languages in the future)

Choosing the right spread
Folks in my discord are giving me amazing feedback for what to include in my upcoming workbook. One thing they all asked was "How do I know which spread is right for me?" So I wrote up the pros and cons of various spreads I tend to favor. Whether you're picking out a commission from me, or branching out with reading new spreads for yourself, here's the quick and dirty on my favorite spreads.
Above/Below
It’s strength is also its weakness. A/B is simple and straightforward, only dealing with one key card at a time, and only having two cards to interpret. This makes it ideal for actionable advice type readings, but less suited to revealing loads of information. It does one thing and it does that one thing very well. An excellent spread for beginners, and for keeping yourself from over complicating your interpretations.
Revealing Prism
More dynamic than the Above/Below, the Revealing Prism is great for when you want to look at a thing from multiple angles. It offers binary interpretation like Above/Below, but also has space to reveal things you wouldn’t know to ask about, and leaves you grounded with a core truth to anchor all this new information on. Another good spread for beginners looking to branch out a little. It can also be adapted to read a key card – just place your chosen key card in the center and read how the other three reflect back on it.
3 x 3 Grid
The sweet spot of not too complex, but more layered than the two before it. With the 3 x 3, you have room to customize your rows and columns to look at the interplay between two categories. Most common is making your three columns time-- past, preset, and future-- but truly the possibilities are endless. That can be its downfall; it can be daunting to try to come up with three things that feel like they “fit”. But I really love the 3 x 3 because it brings in the ability to look at the interplay between lots and lots of factors. It’s a great intermediate spread because there’s so many points to read along, but you only ever look a 2-3 cards along any one train of thought.
The Full Deck Spread
The wonderful thing that the Full Deck Spread brings to the table is chaos. The scope and messiness of the spread means there’s many, many avenues for information to present itself, so its great for a general overview of a topic, while also offering in roads for exploring in more depth and detail. However, spreading out your entire deck takes a lot of space, especially if you’ll have to shuffle layers out of the way to get to the cards you’re looking for. This spread is also very time and energy intensive, too. It can be easy to get lost in the sheer bulk of potential information, so save this one for topics you want to spend a lot of time with. It’s great for when your query is sort of nebulous, but less useful for direct, targeted answers. It can also feel a little intimidating, since it’s free form doesn’t offer clear, obvious reading lines. But with a little practice, reading the full deck like this can be very meditative, and offer a wealth of insight.

This is heavily inspired and an addition to @moonsaver care package series. They are an amazing writer that has inspired me to write. So I highly suggest reading their works especially the care package series.
Tumblr media
(Artwork is not mine; credit to the artist)
Silverwolf
The Gamer Package
• A package designed as an old gameboy advanced arrived on your doorstep. It was purple in color complete with indigo buttons. The package itself is completely functional having the small screen display a pixel version of chibi Silverwolf which displays her current status.
• It is advisable to let Silverwolf wake upon her own which is often times at later midnight hours. If waken up earlier she may become irritated and snappy. You may monitor how much time she has left to sleep by checking the status screen on her box.
• Silverwolf is a bit harder to take care off and it is due to her being a night owl being most active at night. In the beginner stage Silverwolf would most of the time prefer staying in her box which acts as as both her bed and gaming studio. She comes with her Prop; Gaming Console, which she would use most of the time to develop her Gaming [I]” skill.
• You can download the app “HSR CarePackage” to play minigames with Silverwolf. In doing so the bond between you and Silverwolf and help her advanced to the next stage. Do note that Silverwolf is a fast learner in Video Games so don’t be surprised if you lose by the 3rd round. She is an excellent player 2 in any game and is highly popular with competitive players to hone their skills.
• It is advisable to keep Silverwolf and her box in dim areas as she has an aversion to sunlight. However it is also important to keep interacting with her and let her feel some sunshine every now and then to prevent her from developing “Gremlin [I]”
• If she plays for too long or stay isolated without any social interaction she develops the trait “Gremlin [I]”which makes her mischievous and act out.
• Beginner Silverwolf is not only fond of games but also watching memes and let plays so its a good recommendation to let her watch some videos to keep her entertained and let her passively develop her “Gaming [I]”. She is also fond of sleeping during the day so let her nap a few times during the day as she mostly active at night.
• Silverwolf has no particular preference to being picked up so long as she is in the mood to be picked up and you let her know before hand less she becomes irritated. She will also sometimes demand to be picked up as she likes to feel Tall. Note: Please don’t tease Silverwolf about her height as this may lead to her being in a bad mood for the rest of the day.
• Once she has garnered enough “EXP” as she exclaims she’ll move on to the Intermediate Stage. In this stage Intermediate Silverwolf will now be more attention hungry and develop the trait “Pranking [I]” so don’t be surprised to see stickers plastered on some of your items and even on your face. Silverwolf comes with her own bubble-gum scented stickers as part of “Graffiti [II]” prop, caretakers may order more more stickers from the official “HSR Care-package” using the app, to prevent Silverwolf from resorting to using Permanent markers or any other materials in her pranks.
• Intermediate Silverwolf will now be invested in playing more games and exploring different genres of video games. Her “Gaming” skill will level up from level [I] to [II] improving her gaming skills and allow her to play more difficult games. In this stage it is important to know and monitor the games she will be playing as this can impact her personality. Action games such First Player Shooters and Fighting games can make your Silverwolf more active and competitive. Puzzle Games such as Tetris or Candy Crush can lead to your Silverwolf being more curious. Life Sims and other zen games can lead to Silverwolf to be more chill and lazy. She may demand to be given a nickname as a gaming persona and choose wisely as she’ll greatly cherishes this up to her advance stage. Calling her by her given nickname will increase the bond between you too but use it appropriately and sparingly as to not lessen its effects.
• It is best to monitor her gaming hours as she can go on long periods of time without sleep or rest playing video games which can impede her growth and may even lead her to de-evolve back to beginner stage. Disciplining Silverwolf may initially cause her to be irritated but so long as you give her some small snacks or give her the “Stuff Toy [II]” Prop to calm her down. She may even go straight to sleep afterwards so it’s advisable to gently put her back into the gamer box to recharge.
• In the later intermediate stage Silverwolf will develop her skill “Hacking [I]” it is advisable to supervise Silverwolf after developing this skill as she may attempt to “hack” any of your devices which typically results in her changing the password, messing with the volumes and settings, and even changing your wallpaper. Gently coax Silverwolf or bribing her with candy will have her revert any changes she made. Caretakers are advised to not only have a strong password but to keep changing it periodically to prevent Silverwolf from using her “Hacks”. If users are bothered by this then its best to let distract Silverwolf with new games to lessen the chance of her being bored and using “Hacking [I]”. Another way is to have another companion monitor and watch her to dissuade her from using her skill “Hacking [I]”.
• Caretakers can monitor Silverwolf’s progress between stages by looking at the “EXP” bar in the screen on her box. Silverwolf will typically gain EXP by playing games and using any of her skills. Bonding and interacting with Silverwolf grants more EXP and an EXP boost afterwards. If Silverwolf is in “Gremlin [I]” she will not earn any EXP, playing games constantly without any breaks will lead to EXP loss.
• Once your bond with Silverwolf grows stronger and has managed to gathered enough “EXP” she’ll go to the Advanced Stage. Congratulations your Silverwolf will now grow into her maximum height of 4’8 (Please Do not tease her about her height, you have been warned). While she may be shorter than other companions she is no less mighty. In this stage Silverwolf will be more extroverted and playful than the previous stages. She’ll be more welcoming to head pats and she’ll even tease you back.
• Advanced Silverwolf will level up her “Gaming [II]” into her unique skill “Pro Gamer [III]” allowing her to master any game and be almost unbeatable. Although she will let you win out of pity. Beating Silverwolf in this stage is a great achievement and will not only win you her respect but will also humble her a bit. Silverwolf will need “Gamer Fuel” which consists of Energy Drinks, Snacks and Bubble Gum so it is advisable that Caretakers keep a stock of this items beforehand to keep Silverwolf happy. In this stage Silverwolf may be persuaded to go outside and touch grass but she will complain. Silver will also give her ratings and reviews on the games she plays as well as help caretakers in beating any hard stages. Advance Silverwolf are now open to other games besides Video games such as board games, so its a good idea to introduce her to some of these games to lessen her screen time.
•Silverwolf’s “Pranking [I]” skill will turn into “Memes [II], where in instead of pranking you she’ll keep sending memes and other funny gifs to brighten your day. She’ll even keep you up to date with the latest lingo and terms. Advanced Silverwolf may even advised you on current trends and help you film videos to post online.
• Silverwolf is recommended for fellow Night Ows due to her sleep schedule as well as being the perfect HSR companion for Gamers due to her personality and skills. She has also been a popular pick for content creators and streamers for not only for “Pro Gamer [III]” skill but she has also been seen in helping with editing as her “Hacking [I]” evolves into her hidden ability “Aether Editing [II]” granting her the skill to masterfully edit videos as well as perform other tasks.
• Aspiring Game developers have also been working with their Silverwolf to find bugs and glitches in their projects using Silverwolf skill “Aether Editing [II].m to further improve the game. Advanced Silverwolf are excellent beta test players due to her wanting to find as many exploits and bugs. She also uses her skill “Pro Gamer [III]” to fully test the game and give an honest feedback. Nonetheless Silverwolf is a great companion for those who are fans of games in general and is an excellent player 2 for those who are feeling lonely.
• Silverwolf’s companions include Blade, Kafka and Sam/Firefly. Any of these characters will help in Silverwolf growth and prevent her from developing “Gremlin [I]”. These companions will also be the perfect companions for Silverwolf as they’ll help distract her and help control her gaming hours. But be warned to not let this group be together unsupervised for too long as this will often results in trouble and a huge mess. Silverwolf Companion feature works greatly with her fellow Stellaron Hunters and other characters such as Trailblazers and Screwllum.
• Silverwolf is included in the “Stellaron Hunter” special package set together with her best companions. This set includes bonus props and exclusive outfits for her and the other companions. The set also comes with an exclusive mini game “Stellaron Hunter Mission: The Jepella Rebellion”
Thanks for reading!

It's New Year's Day, 2025! And I've made it a habit to change my rubber out every year at the start of the year, so this time I thought I would post my blade and rubber combination and write a bit about it and why I'm playing with it. I started playing with this combo in mid-2021 and don't see myself moving away from it any time soon.
Blade: Stiga Dynasty Carbon, Xu Xin edition, 85g. Xu Xin has probably been my favorite Chinese national team player from this century actually, and I'm a Stiga guy, so why not try his signature blade out? That was the thinking. And it ends up that this blade fits his style of play: creative topspin game, dynamic shot making, super stable at the table, excellent touch. And this blade has helped a (much lower level) player like me achieve some of the same… easy topspin, easy block, easy table game, and not so much power that I fall behind in my footwork. It has just enough speed to play offense, but is slow enough for a big guy like me to move around in rhythm with the ball. This blade has amazing ball feel; crisp due to the thin koto outer ply, not unlike a Butterfly Timo Boll ALC or Viscaria in feel and shot making accuracy, but with cushy dynamics due to the thick ayous core. It plays very accurately and consistently, but has a bit of throw when you get down into the wood on a bigger shot. It has the Stiga feeling!
Forehand rubber: Butterfly Dignics 80, 2.1mm. While I don't love Butterfly blades all that much, I believe they produce top quality rubber, as good or better than anything out there perhaps. Dignics seems to be the default rubber selection for intermediate to advanced level players these days, but the question arises as to which one to choose between: 09C, 05, 80, or 64? I chose 80 for my forehand. Though, it seems it is not a usual choice, as most players intermediate through pro levels are using 09C or 05 on their forehands. However I do have unique reasonings for my choice: 1) 80 is the Dignics with the most allround characteristics; I can spin the ball, hit the ball, block the ball, chop the ball, lob the ball, etc, all with relative ease and without too much fuss, and there's nothing really getting in my way from the rubber to impede any of those shots. I don’t have to overthink it; 2) easy speed: 80 is pretty fast and I can generate power on most balls with relative ease with seemingly little effort; 3) yes, it's spinny: while not as spinny as 09C or 05 in "mechanical spin", it certainly generates quite a bit of spin from a variety of stroke productions, and I would estimate it is spinnier than Tenergy 05 on most shots; 4) dynamic range: I get the sense with 09C and 05 that I HAVE to spin the ball with pretty good technique on most balls to get a decent result, but with 80 I have freedom to choose spin level and trajectory with or without a perfect stroke. In that sense it plays a bit like a nicely speed-glued rubber from the 90's... I can spin cleanly or mush the ball with a "glue shot" for a winner. Not so easy with 09C or 05. 5) physicality: I’m not using my body as efficiently or powerfully enough to be able to get close to bottoming out 09C or 05 on hard shots, which means I would be underutilizing those rubbers a lot of the time. So it’s my opinion that most players under a certain level MAY be better off choosing something other than 09C or 05, and potentially something other than Dignics entirely... That level could be 2000, or could be as high as 2400 as a barrier to entry, depending on the individual player’s strength and body mechanics. 09C and 05 are certainly not for everyone just because they might like to loop the ball! To finalize, Dignics 80 is easy to play, with pretty good power, pretty good spin, and flexible… easy peasy!
Backhand rubber: Stiga DNA Platinum S, 2.0mm. I've always been into Stiga gear as I primarily used it when I first started playing, so I always try to use something on my racket Stiga-based; there's something about Stiga gear that feels "right" when using it. When I started training with a national level coach in 2016, she recommended a soft-sponged Stiga rubber for my backhand, and it was the perfect recommendation. Back in the 90's I used a lot of soft sponge rubbers on my backhand, one specifically most of the time: Skitt Coppa Tenero. So her recommendation sat well. In terms of the DNA Platinum Soft that I'm currently using, it is quite fast for a soft rubber, and definitely fast enough throughout its life span. There’s improved spin generation in topspin compared to the previous DNA Pro, and it is excellent in block and counter. All in all, a perfect backhand rubber for a control player like me. And that is an important point, the soft sponge is likely geared towards control players seeking control and flexibility across a wide variety of strokes, both offensive and defensive. Aggressive players would find more utility in a harder sponge.
Whew… that was a lot to write, but I wanted to outline things clearly if I was going to do it at all. ‘Til next time…

Which sport is right for my child?
It all depends on their body shape!
Choosing the right sport for your child is not always easy.
Body shape plays an important role in sporting ability.
Let's find out about the different body types and the sports that best suit them.
The 3 main body types
- Endomorph: Small and strong, with well-developed leg muscles. Ideal for strength and balance sports such as judo, throwing and rugby
- Ectomorph: Tall and slim, with long, lean muscles. Excellent for endurance and flexibility sports such as dance, gymnastics or swimming
- Mesomorph: Intermediate morphology, often good at many sports. Why is morphology important?
Morphology influences :
- Natural aptitudes: Some sports require specific physical qualities;
- Enjoyment: A child will be more motivated if he or she plays a sport suited to his or her morphology;
- Injury prevention: Choosing a suitable sport reduces the risk of injury.
Beware of preconceived ideas!
- Body type is not inevitable: Training can help to develop certain physical qualities
- Variety is essential: It's important to give children the chance to try out different sports so that they can discover their own preferences
- Pleasure comes first: The main aim is for children to enjoy physical activity.
In conclusion, body shape is a factor to be taken into account when choosing a sport for a child, but it is not the only criterion.
The most important thing is to find an activity that they enjoy and that allows them to develop harmoniously.

HIIT Workout: Should I Start with HIIT or Cardio?
HIIT vs. Cardio: Which Is Right for You?
When it comes to achieving fitness goals, many people find themselves debating between High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and steady-state cardio. Both forms of exercise offer unique benefits, but which one is better depends on your goals, fitness level, and preferences. This article will explore the differences, benefits, and when to choose each method to help you decide.
What is HIIT?
High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) involves alternating short bursts of intense exercise with brief periods of rest or low-intensity activity. For example, you might sprint for 30 seconds, then walk for 60 seconds, repeating this cycle for 20-30 minutes.
Benefits of HIIT:
Time-Efficient: HIIT delivers significant results in less time compared to steady cardio.
Boosts Metabolism: It elevates your metabolic rate for hours after a workout, promoting fat burning.
Preserves Muscle Mass: HIIT primarily targets fat while maintaining lean muscle tissue.
Improves Cardiovascular Fitness: It increases both anaerobic and aerobic endurance.
Citation: A 2011 study in the Journal of Obesity found that HIIT is highly effective in reducing abdominal fat and improving overall cardiovascular health.
What is Cardio?
Steady-state cardio involves maintaining a consistent pace and intensity for a prolonged period, such as jogging, cycling, or swimming. Sessions typically last 30-60 minutes and keep your heart rate at a moderate level.
Benefits of Cardio:
Improves Endurance: It's ideal for building long-term stamina and aerobic capacity.
Supports Heart Health: Cardio strengthens the heart, reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Burns Calories: While not as intense as HIIT, cardio is effective for weight management.
Stress Relief: It can lower stress and improve mental health through steady, rhythmic activity.
Citation: According to the American Heart Association, steady-state cardio reduces the risk of heart disease and improves overall cardiovascular function.
HIIT vs. Cardio: A Comparison
Feature HIIT Cardio Time Commitment Short (15-30 minutes) Longer (30-60 minutes) Calorie Burn Higher in less time Lower but steady Fat Loss Highly effective, especially post-workout Effective over time Muscle Preservation Preserves lean muscle May lead to muscle loss with excessive duration Fitness Level Intermediate to advanced Beginner-friendly Impact on Joints High impact, can strain joints Lower impact, joint-friendly options available
Which is Better for Your Goals?
Weight Loss:
HIIT is more efficient for burning calories and boosting metabolism, especially if you’re short on time. However, combining both methods can offer sustained fat loss.
Improving Stamina:
Cardio is better suited for building endurance and improving aerobic capacity over time.
Building Muscle:
HIIT preserves and may even help build muscle due to its high-intensity nature, whereas excessive cardio might lead to muscle loss.
Overall Health:
Both forms are beneficial for cardiovascular health, but cardio is generally more accessible and less stressful for beginners or those with joint concerns.
When to Choose HIIT or Cardio
Choose HIIT if:
You’re short on time.
You want to burn fat quickly.
You’re looking to improve strength and power.
Choose Cardio if:
You prefer a low-intensity, steady workout.
You’re training for endurance events like a marathon.
You’re a beginner or have joint issues.
Can You Combine HIIT and Cardio?
Absolutely! Incorporating both methods into your routine provides variety and balances endurance with strength. For example:
Do 2-3 HIIT sessions per week for fat-burning and metabolic benefits.
Include 1-2 steady-state cardio sessions for endurance and recovery.
Conclusion
HIIT and cardio both have their place in a well-rounded fitness program. HIIT is excellent for those seeking quick, efficient results, while steady-state cardio offers endurance and long-term health benefits. Understanding your goals, fitness level, and preferences will help you choose the best approach—or combine the two for optimal results.

SPRINT WORKOUTS TO TRY
Since sprinting is a high-intensity, explosive exercise, it is important to warm up before and cool down after your session. When sprint training, it's critical to keep proper form in mind as this will enhance your running economy and efficiency. Aim for high arm carriage at ninety degrees, high knee drive, and heel under glute. Additionally, you should avoid reaching for your stride and instead maintain a short, quick stride. When doing hill sprint exercises, aim a few meters ahead of you; when running on a flat surface, concentrate on a distant object that is at eye level.
You can perform the following sprint exercises on a treadmill or outside on the tarmac. You should choose your sprint pace setting in mph before using the treadmill. After you've determined the setting, you can accelerate while timing how long it takes you to complete a sprint on the treadmill. For the recovery phase, gradually reduce your speed when the sprint is done. To allow for the entire sprint, you'll need to start picking up speed before the rest period expires.
30-second sprint with 90-second recovery (90% of maximum effort)
In this exercise, you will run for 30 seconds at "top speed," or as quickly as you can while maintaining proper technique, and then recover by walking or jogging for 90 seconds.
For an intermediate workout, beginners can work up to 20 rounds, while beginners should aim for 10 rounds.
This is the perfect HIIT sprint workout if you're looking for one! While not all sprint exercises fall under the HIIT category, those that do have the same advantages as other HIIT exercises, such as burning fat long after the workout is over, enhancing general endurance and fitness, and being incredibly time-efficient.
45 second sprint with 60 second recovery (80% of maximum effort)
You will be sprinting at 80% of your maximal power during this workout; you should run quickly yet steadily. You only have 60 seconds to recuperate, so make sure you jog or walk at a pace that will allow you to recover sufficiently to give the sprints your best.
For an advanced session, beginners should aim for 8 repetitions, progressively increasing to 12 repetitions.
60 second sprint with 60 second recovery (70-75% of maximum effort)
This is not so much a maximum sprint workout as it is an endurance speed session because a whole minute of sprinting can seem like an eternity. It is recommended to run the sprint at 70–75% of your maximal effort, and to walk or jog at a moderate pace during the 60-second recovery so that you can maintain the same level of effort during the sprints.
Beginners should begin with about 8 repetitions and work their way up to 10. For more experienced runners, this session can be extended:
5 sets of 60 sec sprint, 60 second recovery
4 minutes easy run
Repeat 3 times
Descending sprint workout
This sprint session involves increasing the speed of your sprint as you descend down the set:
60 second sprint (75% of maximum effort)
60 second recovery
40 second sprint (85% of maximum)
60 second recovery
20 second sprint (95% of maximum)
2 minute easy jog
Repeat 3-5 times
Hill sprint
One excellent sprint training exercise is the hill sprint. Their benefits include enhanced strength, power, and speed as well as better biomechanics and running efficiency. It's crucial to start out slowly if you haven't done any hill training before because it strains your body more than flat-land sprinting does.
30 second hill sprints with a 2-3 minute recovery (90-95% maximum effort on a 5-10% incline)
Running uphill is difficult, even though 30 seconds doesn't seem like long enough to justify a two to three-minute rest interval! You can use a treadmill or walk outside on the pavement to accomplish this. When doing an outside hill sprint, run up the hill for 30 seconds, then during the recovery walk or jog back down.
To use the treadmill, stand on its sides, set the inclination to between 5 and 10%, choose your desired speed, then climb on and go running. Return to the treadmill when the 30 seconds are over, reduce the elevation, and walk or jog for the next two to three minutes. Start your sprint set just before your recovery time is up by standing back on the treadmill's edge, increasing the speed and inclination.
Aim for about 8 repetitions for beginners and 10 repetitions for advanced.
15 second hill sprints with a 2 minute recovery (95% maximum effort on 10-15% incline)
In this sprint training, you will sprint for 15 seconds straight, followed by a 2-minute walk or jog for recovery. Because of the greater (10–15%) elevation, technique is particularly important.
Ten repetitions for a starting session and fifteen for an intermediate one.

That’s an excellent question, but not one that can easily be answered. There are really two versions of DQ7. The PSX and 3DS versions. And there are reasons to play either.
Some brief differences would be.
PSX: 2D sprites in 3D environments, random encounters, longer time spent in Estard
3DS: All 3D models, overworld enemies, shorter time spent in Estard
The biggest change imo is how different the vocation system is between the two. In the original you would choose a vocation to get its skills and then change vocations so your skills would carry over and if you change to a specific vocation when the last one “matured” you could get really good hybrid skills (like Sword Dance, the must-have hybrid skill). You basically plan out your vocation path so you get the master vocation you want for each character and pick up good hybrid skills along the way. In the 3DS remake, only skills from beginner and monster vocations carry over, but intermediate and advanced vocations will quickly learn skills from the vocations needed to unlock them. But this means that in the PSX version, Champions can use Sage skills if your Champion went through the Sage vocation at some point, but 3DS Sages can’t (unless they go through a monster vocation that has those skills).
I like the PSX version because I think hybrid skills makes planning a specific progression of vocations more interesting, but there are people that swear by the 3DS vocation system since it matters a lot less what order you choose to master vocations.
I also mentioned the time you spend in Estard is different and that’s because the PSX version has a notoriously long prologue. It will probably take a couple hours before you even get to your first battle. This is a major turn-off to many. The 3DS remake sought to remedy this by removing an entire dungeon from the prologue since it was entirely puzzle-oriented with no battles. I both like and dislike this change because I do think it messes with DQ7’s setup, but it also makes it easier to recommend to people who don’t want to go through the entire prologue.
The 3DS version also has an entirely reworked script and even changes some names (most notably the character Gabo is renamed Ruff). I would say the 3DS script is generally better, but the PSX one was also noticeably edgier. This worked in Maribel’s favor since she’s a character with a really sharp tongue. It helps with how down-to-earth the characters in 7 feel when compared to the characters in a lot of other DQs.
Also, regardless of which version you play, don’t use the stat-boosting seeds until you unlock vocations. You could do this earlier, but if I told you the exact moment you can start using them it would spoil a big moment in the game. Also keep in mind that even when you get to the point you unlock vocations, there will still be two other party members you’ll get later.
Also be sure to really research how vocations work when you unlock them. In both versions you’ll have to see what the requirements are to unlock each advanced vocation so you know which routes to go down with your characters, but for the PSX version you’ll also have to look up the hybrid skills and factor in those (you should at least have any character in the Dancer vocation briefly switch to the Warrior vocation and any character in the Warrior vocation briefly switch to the Dancer vocation to learn Sword Dance whenever possible).

Don't Take Art Advice from Strangers on the Internet - Art advice from a stranger on the internet
(i'll be discussing drawing within this post because that's my oeuvre but i would like to think it applies to a lot of things. really it's more 'advice on how to take advice' but i couldn't resist.)
If you are anything like me, you have made a thing or two in your time, and 90% of your knowledge on making those things was gained by looking up "How to (blank)" on the internet. There are many excellent resources available for free online! but who's making these resources? Usually, people -- people who are biased and don't know you personally.
Let's say you find a tutorial online telling you how to improve a part of your art you've been struggling with. The person making this tutorial has great art, and they explain the points in an easy-to-follow manner. before you pull out your sketchbook or tablet, (because you should be immediately practicing advice as soon as you see it otherwise it will slide directly out of your brain) you need to think about if you should actually follow that tutorial.
How can you tell? It's not about how good the person's art is, or even if they're a good teacher. What you need to be thinking about is if the tutorial is right for you, specifically.
Almost all "art tutorials" are tutorials on how to draw more like the person making them. it's something beginner artists admit to pretty often with titles like "how to draw this thing in my style" where instead intermediate artists will throw around "the better way to draw this thing!" or "stop drawing this thing like this!"
I'm not saying that's a bad thing! it's how art is, right? Good artists copy, great artists steal, so it makes sense that an art tutorial would simply be a guide on how to steal from the person making it. but it's something you need to be aware of.
people tend to raise a stink about tutorials using language like "this is the wrong way to draw something - this is the correct one" and in a lot of cases i think it's a valid complaint, but what's happened is that it's just resulted in changing the phrasing to "this is a good way to draw something, but this is a better way." which is just a nicer way of saying exactly the same thing.
since this language is so common, if you're going to find art tutorials online, the onus is on you to figure out which tutorials are good or bad for you and your art.
When you're looking at someone who's a professional artist, they're usually going to be clearer about who their advice is for. Take Ethan Becker, for example. His videos are excellent and i'd recommend him to basically anyone asking for visual art advice. However, as you can pick up on pretty quickly, his advice is for people looking to get into the animation industry!
If you're, say, looking to get into illustration, maybe more painterly stuff, his advice is still helpful, but you need to pick and choose what you need. The point about not wasting time learning muscle groups is great advice if you're only focused on working as a storyboarder or concept artist for an animation studio, but if you're interested in pretty much anything else, learning human anatomy is one of the most helpful things you can do. this doesn't mean he's wrong, of course. he's teaching the thing he knows, which is working in the animation industry.
If someone is saying that their way is "the better way to draw this thing" you need to look at their art, and what they're explaining, and figure out what they actually mean. is it "the better way to draw this thing for webcomic artists" or "the better way to draw this thing if you want to be popular on instagram"? what are your personal goals with your art?
this does not transition into my point about learning the fundamentals as well as i wanted it to and this post is already too long. more posts sometime soon because i love listening to myself talk. watch ethan becker.
