It took a couple months but my thumb finally healed enough that I could yarn without pain! I've finished up all the hexagons now and it only took a month and a half (if you don't count the thumb injury time period) to make all 127 of them, averaging about 3 a day.
I won't be able to do the actual attachment for a few days because the space I need to line everything up is high traffic atm but fingers crossed it'll be easy to finish up and I'll be done soon! :3

Lots of wip pics this time around for Phil specifically because I've been playing yarn chicken (essentially being unsure if the yarn being used is enough for the project you're working on) with the light pink I'm using for the hood and overshirt- I nearly lost til I found a dark pink yarn I could use for the shorts instead of the light pink. So shout out to that dark pink yarn (and @yharnamsnewslug for the suggestion) or I probably would've had to go buy an entirely new skein of pink and remake the entire doll (I'm pretty sure the store I go to doesn't have the same skein). I ended up making and remaking the shirt, shorts, hood, and bunny ears several times.
In contrast I have plenty of black and the baby pink yarn I'm using for Dan's stuff so that's going well and very fast.
Oh also the brownish roots worked out for Phil's hair I think, it's mostly visible in the back and a bit on the top of the head, which is what I was going for.
If all goes well these'll be done (unintentionally) in time for Valentine's Day :3

I had to test more hair for the other doll because I realized I might be able to have the roots a different colour than the actual hair and also I needed to check that the pink hood would look alright with the blonde hair- these pictures are pretty washed out, the pink is actually a very saturated pastel pink. That all has to be frogged like the other head (especially because I think the hair strands need to be shorter on this one since they're going to be anchored down) but that's the last of what I needed to check so I've now finally been able to get started and made the bodies.
Now the only real hurdle in making this is I'm playing yarn chicken with the pink and I doubt I can get another skein of it. Wish me luck!

Have a couple dolls planned but I had to check if I could make a hood that fits the heads I use with the added bulk of crocheted hair (especially cuz this one is going to stay curly). The yarn I'm using for the hair is also very thin so I had to check if it would look weird attached to the head where I used a worsted brown that is a slightly different shade. Luckily both the hair and hood have worked out which means it's now time to frog them entirely because this was just a mock-up x.x

Somehow having the hair be snakes makes the attachment process so much more difficult than the wig octopus. It doesn't help that they're all individually anchored as well. It's like they're alive!

Decided to finally try the wig style of amigurumi hair. It's a bit like wrangling an octopus.

A couple months ago someone in my family found out they were at the start of a severe chronic illness. Given the right medical attention they will recover but it will take a long time. I volunteered to help manage things so they don't have to and to keep an eye on them on a day to day basis.
Since this task involves me needing to be alert but not necessarily occupied with anything I asked for the pattern and yarn to make the Starlite Blanket by TheBurrowUK (which was shown to me years ago by @yharnamsnewslug) for my birthday with the intent to give the completed blanket to that family member for their birthday because that theoretically should be just after they're through the worst of the illness.
The top 7 pics are mockups I did when learning how the individual hexagon patterns works. The bottom 4 are completed representations of batches of said hexagons.
So far I've made 7 of the baby blue hexagons, 6 of the mint hexagons, 6 of the dusty blue hexagons, and 12 of the dusty teal hexagons. I've also made a few of the next colour (same pattern as the bottom 3 pictures) but I sprained my thumb helping with some heavy lifting so I'm forcing myself to take a break from yarning while that heals.

I've finally sorted out how the hair will look after making and remaking each strand approximately 20 times. Still taking a while to get the hang of this style of hair but it's a fun time. Now I just gotta anchor it down so it sits right and isn't curly, make the horn headband, and tie on the cape (which is made but absent here because it was getting in the way when I was doing hair)
#cincomplete#i'm also probably going to do a little yellow something to tie to the other doll#and the other doll is probably getting a red earring to do the same

Started these a bit ago. I initially made a heart top shape which had to be frogged when I remembered Dan's top is supposed to be a corset, so I took the bottom pic cuz I thought it looked nice.

Trying to make crocheted hair be straight without resorting to blocking has been A Challenge

I spent 2 full days just trying to reason out how best to make a pleated skirt on such a small scale with a ‘cloth’ that is too thick to actually fold. On the bright side I did figure it out for the most part. On the less bright side the way I intended to replicate it looked too excessive for this particular doll so I had to scale it back in the end.
Also because it was white socks AND white sneakers I ended up lacing some of the green under the border of the two (instead of wrapping it around the border like the first pic) and i’m really pleased with it, especially because it’s very subtle.
#cincomplete#i am very excited to utilize this in the future though#i'm glad i could work it out it was a fun experiement#even if that experiment involved me crocheting a skirt over 15 times#and even if it was stressful (tbf i was doing it to myself this was wholly unnecessary)#and honestly what i ended up doing still conveys what i wanted

First time making a heart this big. I’m unsure if I like it or not, so far.

The new Coyra doll is taking longer than expected because I forgot how cramped up my fingers get when working with very small yarn whoops

I originally tried to do those cute socks with the cat face and ears at the top but the scale didn’t work out, alas
