I gave Pokémon teams for the playable characters of Final Fantasy 13!

I enjoyed FF13 and while it has its flaws, I do think its a good game.

Because Lightning abandoned the name “Claire” because she believed her old self to be weak, I like to imagine that in the new world, finally getting to live a happy life, her friends and family are all safe and living happily, that Light gradually begins to accept her past self again. That was kind of the whole thing when it came to Lightning Returns, I felt like, so once she’s in the new world, it all comes to fruition when slowly but surely, Lightning accepts being called Claire again.

But I like to think that even when it comes to using her real name, Lightning only lets a select few even call her that. Serah obviously has the rights to it, that’s her sister after all,,,,and I can only imagine the emotional impact that it would have on Serah when she calls Lightning by her name, and there’s just a side by side between past and present. Between when they were younger, Serah calling her sister by her real name because “lightning” was still a name she needed adjusting too, only to be yelled at, Lightning insisting not to call her by that weak name anymore.

And then it cuts to the present, where Serah says Light’s real name after so long, and Lightning smiles at her. Because it’s really been so long since she’s heard that name come out of her sisters mouth. Her sister that wasn’t just an evil ass old man in disguise, or a fucked up god creating an entirely fake Serah. But it’s truly her little sister looking at her, and saying the name “Claire” with so much love that Lightning almost feels emotional hearing it, her eyes misty.

“Hehe, it’s a little nostalgic…” Serah sighs, putting a hand to her cheek. Lightning huffs, a smile playing on her lips. “Is it? It’s going to take some getting used to again, but I always considered the name to be…weak. Something I didn’t want to be.”

“You think so?” Serah blinks, eyes big and wide and oh, so sincere. “I always loved your name…it’s so beautiful and comforting. And…it’s the name mom and dad gave you, so when I say your name, it makes me think of them..”

Lightning winces at hearing that. Thinking back to all the times she’d yell and scream for that name to never be said again. She never really did give much thought to Serah’s emotions back then, at least, much less compared to her physical well being. She wants…to be better.

“Well, we have all the time in the world now. Call me by my name as much as you want…and we can talk about mom and dad as much as you want…”

lightning isn't good with feelings of any sort, but especially not romantic ones! the princess of even starting a relationship with her is a slowburn!

once you're in a relationship with her; lightning still has her walls up high, but she already lowered them a lot more than she did for anyone besides you – not counting her sister!

lightning is incredibly starved of affection and touch, yet craves it desperately. so whenever she gets affection from you, she melts!

you occasionally catch her softly stare at you when you hold her hand. it's hard to spot at first, but her gaze softens when it lands on you and there's a little smile lingering on the corners of her lips

lightning still has her rough exterior, especially around others, but she quickly develops a soft spot for you and grows protective of you!

it's not just in battle that she wants to protect you! she also wants to protect you from that rougher side of her, so whenever she argues with snow, she'll cover your ears gently, as if to shield you from the ugly parts of herself that she secretly hates

lightning's friends are honestly a little amused to see her so soft with you, as they know her as a tough fighter! they can't help but grin amused whenever he soft side shines through thanks to you!

lightning quickly begins to consider you part of the family, so she wants you to get along with serah! of course, serah is nice enough to get along with everyone, but lightning still is anxious that you might not get along with serah

aside from you, serah is the most important person in her life! lightning doesn't need serah's approval for dating you, yet she wants it! but she has nothing to worry about, as serah adores you and quickly welcomes you into the farron family!

speaking of it, lightning also reveals her real name to you soon after she gains serah's approval to date you!

she still prefers it if you call her “light” as a nickname instead, but you're the only person she allows to call her “claire” as well…
